  4. I read a news on Turkish Media about Slavko Vincic. He was arrested on a drug operation in Slovenia. Is that true?

  5. No. He was not arrested, "only" questioned, and the incident took place in Bosnia. He gave a couple of interviews in Slovenian media claiming that he hadn't known anything. Quite lame excuses, if you ask me ... Nothing against him personally, of course.

  7. Sale, please stop spreading fake news. It was said there were several non-related groups at a ranch. Vincic and his associates were in a separate room eating lunch etc. when police came in. Everybody was questioned, only a specific group of people was arrested. Police let everyone else go without any charges.
But keep on believing what you want and posting your lame comments. Nothing against you personally, of course.

    1. I didnt see any fake news, only personal opinion. Indeed, Vincic wasnt charged for anything and was only questioned (which is indeed the most important at the moment) , but one can argue that he could have known who may be there etc. Since he didnt organize the party, he couldnt influence what was going on, but you need to be careful who you are with and if you are in company of people invloved in criminal activities.

One thing that caught my attention is the footage from inside the building, it looks really dirty and messy and it seems quite strange that one would have a business lunch there. Or maybe he wasnt in that same space? I dont know...

Everything else is up to the court and his lawyers, we can only express our opinion...

    3. So he was in another room and he didn't know anything about what was happening there. One must believe that.

    4. What fake news, did I make anything up? I'm entitled to share my own opinion (btw I work in the criminal justice system), and so are you.

  8. What court, what lawyers? He was questioned as a witness. He didn't know anyone from the group of arrested people. He was released. End of story.

    1. Biggest problem is his integrity as a referee, as one of the visitors said.

      Delete
  9. Of course this is not end of story. His integrity as a referee is in question. Especially internationally, this will be brought up every game and every crucial mistake will be associated with this and matchfixing (by some). If you think him being there and 'having nothing to do with it' means end of story you are very naive.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Exactly, it may be the end of story in legal terms, but his reputation in football has been damaged. An elite referee must have an image of integrity, on and off the field, which is no longer possible in his situation.

      Delete
    2. I agree with Anonymous at 18:26. Reputation is damaged. News in all countries are reporting wrong informations. He wont handle games only for this reason. UEFA wants a very clean imagine of a referee at that level. I'm sorry for Vincic.

  10. Penalty and yellow card for a Wolfsburg defender. Looks like a holding foul, so the yellow would be for SPA. It's an interesting SPA/DOGSO decision; the attacker was approaching a cross which was played to him along the ground, and there were no other defenders nearby.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Very challenging first half in Mainz. 7 YCs given and as I remember all of them for reckless challenges. Missed yellow card at the penalty for DOGSO with genuine attempt for the ball. And a second yellow card missed for n32. from Hoffenheim.
Great advantage before the goal and correct caution afterwards.
The two teams are really playing in a rough way... Stegemann has not so easy afternoon.

  12. American midfielder Weston McKennie (Schalke 04) is wearing an armband with a message of justice for George Floyd.

    LOTG rule 4?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Good point Quilava, I didn't even think about that.

Law 4 says the following about political messages:

"Whilst ‘religious’ and ‘personal’ are relatively easily defined, ‘political’ is less clear but slogans, statements or images related to the following are not permitted:

      • any person(s), living or dead (unless part of the official competition name)

      ..."

It would be a very hairy situation for a referee to try to enforce this law at the match, so I certainly don't count anything against Zwayer here! But in theory the Bundesliga should sanction him for displaying a political message in order to discourage players from displaying political messages in the future.

    2. *I should clarify that by "him" I am referring to McKennie, not Zwayer.

      Delete
    3. McKennie won't be punished:
"Of course, the DFB Control Committee always has the FIFA LotG and DFB regulations in mind," the Chairman of the Control Committee, Dr Anton Nachreiner, is quoted. "In this specific case, however, it is a question of targeted anti-racism actions by the players, who are thus standing up for values that the DFB also stands for and always advocates. For this reason, no proceedings will be initiated, not even in the case of comparable anti-racism actions in the coming weeks".

    3. No, I mean what was the referee decision after VAR check. Did Monzul allow the goal? Or it was disallowed?

      Delete
    4. Disallowed after VAR check. Your thoughts?

      Delete
    5. The only reason for disallowing goal in this case can be foul by attacker, and we can agree on that, but why Monzul indicated indirect free kick? There wasn't any punishable offside. Do you know more? Exact reason of the decision?

      Delete
    6. Also, at 18:55 you can see for a small instant Monzul allowing the goal when the player is going to celebrate the goal he scored. It doesn't look like the best management.

    7. Agree, Chefren. If you disallow the goal, play should be restarted with a defensive FK.

      Delete
    3. I agree with you! The 3rd situation I don't agree with Marciniak's decision as defender is in a natural position, it's an unexpected ball and defender can't really avoid the contact with it. So in my opinion play-on.

Var: JOVIC - UEFA category 2

    2. My opinion:

2nd YC is harsh if not wrong. Offender clearly takes a risk with the tackle but considering force and contact point it's rather careless for me.

On the PK I would support the referee, PK + YC for reckless arm.

      Delete
    3. I must add, on the 2nd YC incident referee was more than probably deceived by attackers exaggeration.

      Delete
    4. Thank you, I agree completely about 2nd YC.

PK for me might be harsh, but I think is not situation for OFR so wouldnt count that as VAR mistake.

      news:
Chief of referee comitee called for urgent comitee meeting tomorrow to discuss the issue, he said he is very unhappy about refereeing in that game, but he doesnt want to conclude anything too early and before listening to communication with VAR room.
