  1. Kabakov with easy match.

Gozubuyuk and Kavanagh with expected matches for them, there is some possibility that these matches can be challenging .

Sanchez gets the biggest match of the day,as Norway and Italy will fight for that 1st place in their group.

  2. Well, one can say that Massa was punished in the end for the Konate missed RC.

    1. Is this interpretation indeed permissible? If I wanted to 'punish' a referee, I wouldn't appoint him at all, especially not for a Balkan derby, which seems quite significant to me, even more since it could become the direct duel for the 2nd place in this group (and thus the chance to indirectly qualify for the World Cup behind England).

    2. My comment was rather tongue-in-cheek :P, a referee who is well-known for solving technically challenging matches (like Siebert or Sanchez Martinez) would have been a more apt choice than the Italian in my book. Good luck to Massa!

  3. So, the limit for appointing CWC referees was set at NL semifinals with Vincic and Oliver. One can agree with that, it was too much demanding appointing a referee starting from 6 June. In this context, one must say that Massa choice could be read as not the first option for Rosetti. Nevertheless, it's an extremely hard and risky game, you have everything to lose, and by reading Mariani in the other (calm) tie, you can draw your conclusions!

    1. 100% ! however i still find it irritating to appoint referees who are going to the cwc tomorrow... eskas, kovacs, letexier, makkelie, marciniak, nyberg, oliver, taylor, turpin, vincic and zwayer are out...peljito probably on deserved summer break after uecl final... still leaving us with plenty of so called elite referees for the nations league and the top flights in wc qualifiers... for the nations league where are sidiropoulos, grinfeeld, mariani, massa, gozubuyuk, jovanovic, kruzliak and meler? after having shown great lack in personality and management several times, now massa is appointed for the only match where you exactly need those two key elements of refereeing...sorry to say, but this must feel like mobbing for him...

    2. Maybe in UEFA, but in CONMEBOL there are several CWC referees appointed on Tuesday 10 :)

  4. Wow,Massa gets one of the most risky matches that he will ever have.

I dont know why they appointed him there and not someone like Turpin or Makkelie.

When these 2 squared of in 14 and 15,we had Atkinson and Rizzoli,in that moment probably top 5 refs in the Europe..

Cause it's not just country's relations,it's also fight for 2nd place that plays part in this being a challenging match.

And we also seen him not be at his best this season and especially last rounds of Serie A.

But we'll see hopefully no trouble for him.

  5. It's Massa, not Mariani or Sanchez Martinez or Siebert, a sacrificial offering from Rosetti. If he performs well, the story continues, but if not, we might see him follow the path of Aytekin, Bastien, or even Collum.

  6. Good no offside call by AR1 in Norway

  7. The replay of PSG - Inter for Sanchez Martinz so far :)
Correct YC for holding to Thorsby NOR.

  8. Why was North Macedonian goal disallowed. anyone with a video?

    1. Player in a (marginal) offside position was struck by the ball when it was shot on goal.

    2. Thanks! When seeing it live I thought he was onside but I didn't watch any replays

  9. OT: 4 days before the tournament, do we have the full list of officials (inlcuding the CONMEBOL referee) for the U21 EURO somewhere?
    So more than this?: http://law5-theref.blogspot.com/2025/03/2025-uefa-under-21-championship.html

  10. Is there any reason the officials in this qualifying are still using the old adidas kits?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yess this is the sponsor of refereeing of the fifa.
I am happy with that. And the qualifiaction is for the WC, and that belongs to the fifa

Better than the kits of Macron from Uefa.

      Delete
    2. Yes but there are new adidas kits that have been in use for over a year now. They are still using the old adidas kits from the 2022 World Cup

    3. @Ecosse
All Fifa referees receive this version of Adidas referee jerseys

  11. 11’ AND-ENG
Fran Jović (Var) should have sent Igor Pajač to the screen to review a potential penalty to England, Andorran defender wasn’t even looking at the ball.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. England player was also pulling the Andorra player initially and the incident was not near the ball. Definitely not VAR stuff

    2. HT AND-ENG
So far an easy first half for the Croatian, with very few talking points other than of course that potential penalty Incident.

  12. ALB-SRB

10' Massa stops the match for a possible injury inside the PA and restarts the match with a foul? drop ball? There is not a foul and if he restarted with a drop ball he shouldn't have done it inside the PA......

    1. 17' YC to #03 SRB. Good decision.

      Delete
    2. 18' DOGSO/SPA incident YC to #06 ALB. Attacker has full possession of the ball, going towards the PA, there is a defender nearby.

      Delete
    3. 45' Penalty for ALB. Correct decision.

    4. PK for Albania
      Very good positioning from Massa

  13. OT :
In 17.min, in a friendly match Greece - Slovakia (R : Osmers), there was a goal scored by Greece, but it was an interesting situation as two players were going for header, Greek player in my opinion didn’t commit a foul, but unfortunately for Osmers, it was scored directly with hand in my opinion, as well as offence in terms of unnatural position. So IMO not a regular goal scored here.

  14. Massa with safe refereeing approach that reduces the chance of things getting out of control on the field.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Massa so far so good.

2 correct YC's and correct penalty whistled right at the end of 1st H.

    ReplyDelete
  16. ALB-SRB

First half without many difficulties. At min 08' Massa stopped the match because some fans threw objects on an SRB player who was executing a corner-kick. YC at 17' is correct. The one at 18' is interesting but I agree with the YC.

Massa stayed mostly in the background with a couple of minor mistakes.

    1. Albania-Serbia HAS TO BE STOPPED! What is this??? Albanians are throwing things and 3 times hit Serbian players IN THE HEAD!

      Delete
    2. So Albanians can do whatever they want… No laws for them.

      Delete
    3. Well,it's not like 2014 when fans entered the pitch.

This is much smaller incident compared with that.

  17. Siebert is having a decent match in Finland but always looks like the game will get away from him. I don’t think he’s ever shaken off the Atleti-City experience. He’s definitely changed his style since but for the better? In games like this, I don’t think so

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. That's just his style,by the book, like his conpatriot Zwayer.

In that term, findind balance with talking and showing cards,I think Brych was the best form Germany but even he struggled when he handled fiery clubs from temperamental nations(Spain,Italy,Portugal,Balkan nations).

      Delete
    2. What made you think he “looked like the game was getting away from him?” Almost nothing happened in the game at all. He could have booked NED5 for SPA a few minutes before he actually got a yellow card, that’s it. With the early Dutch lead it was a very easy game for any referee.

  18. Great control from Massa so far,but let's be fair, players are helping him in the way I did not expect, very fair behaviour from both teams.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Agreed. Much easier match than the one I was expecting.

      Delete
  19. Excellent match from Massa with difficult atmosphere and plenty tensions in the crowd.

Players behaved fair which is very surprising to me given the history between these 2 nations.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Well mr Rosetti can be very pleased with Massa. Normal difficulty match, correct penalty for ALB. Always in control with only a few, minor, mistakes.

    ReplyDelete
  21. What about the challenge at 90’ in CZE-MNE? Arguably SFP, level of force and mode of contact (glancing?) are potential reasons for going yellow. I’d prefer a RC, but YC might be the expected decision nowadays. Gozubuyuk eventually opted for yellow.
