Orange card already at 3'. YC is supportable

DeleteThese don’t tickle, almost refusing to get up until the referee was going to show a card. Took far too long to show the YC, I wonder whether it was his team who mentioned or whether he saw the contact on the Mex player did he decide to show YC. Definitely seemed to miss it live
DeleteIts desgusting that someone speake about a potential "red card" in a play that is a normal YC.
DeleteSeems like everyone is asleep! A home nation fixture is always a special appointment for a referee.
ReplyDeleteSouth Korea is a team who like to play their football, fast paced and get on with business. Unlike the previous AFC team
The most interesting thing for me is him signaling free kick coming out and then raising his arm for IDFK for offside offenses.
ReplyDeleteSays a lot about the game that this is the most interesting thing
Deletewhy are Uruguayans refs always refs Mexican matches and vice versa ?
ReplyDeleteBoth languages are variations on Spanish?
DeleteMain argument can be language, indeed.
Delete58’ Foul and YC for reckless challenge. Good call
ReplyDeleteKOR now getting a little desperate now that they will be chasing the match, be expecting some more desperation in challenges and pushing players forward as they try to get a result.

DeleteGustavo Tejera did well overall. However, whoever assigned him to this match deserves criticism. A South American referee style naturally allows more physical contact, which suited Mexico but not a South Korea side that relies more on movement and technical play. This game was crying out for a European style referee with earlier intervention and tighter foul recognition. By allowing so much contact, Gustavo unintentionally turned the match into a more physical battle than it needed to be.
ReplyDeleteSecond half was football focused, no major issues for the referee from Uruguay, Mexico has qualified for KO stage.
ReplyDeleteIts a decent officiatting. A very dificult match and, who have been inside a game, sure that understand the superior game management made by the referee. Well done in a very difficult game
