Tunisia - Japan, game nr. 36 of this tournament and the 1000th game of FIFA World Cup history. Romanian referee Istvan Kovacs will officiate it. Collina has specified that the choice has been made technically based on the game, then it's just a coincidence that it occurred to the Romanian to get this one. He will "celebrate" it with a special kit manufactured with golden ornaments.

Ot: Sandro Scharer gave a red card to a Brazilian fan yesterday. It's a shame you don't understand Portuguese because the story is hilarious. But basically, the girl in the video started jokingly imitating him, he laughed, and she started shouting his name (because of the name on the back of her shirt), and he gave her the card.

Correct no PK call early imo
ReplyDeletePush by Jap#15 on the goal action, really close to a foul imo
ReplyDeleteOverall, not happy with the obvious FIIFA instruction that forceful contact is allowed that disposses a player or interferes with their ability to make a fair play at the ball, including two-handed pushes, as on the Japan goal.
Delete*FIFA
DeleteAgree, especially on this incident, clear push and to defend and being pushed at the same time is a bit difficult.
DeleteThe biggest problem is the contact from behind. Then, how do we educate referees, coaches and players if we can't understand the criteria?
DeleteNo GLT in this world cup?
ReplyDeleteThere is GLT, we saw the 3D animation of the GLT
DeleteGLT technology showed no goal, replay was a few minutes after
DeleteThe referee gets a GLT notification on his watch, which he checked as soon as the ball went out of play.
DeleteI saw animation, but Kovacs didn't immediately have info on his watch, he waited confirmation from VAR.
DeleteNo there was a potential PK on the prior action, just a check for a PK.
DeleteImpressive fitness, the sprints I think are even better than I remember.
ReplyDeleteAnd FK for a push in the back, same action as the one on the first goal. No consistency imo.
ReplyDeleteI don't know standards anymore
DeleteWhy no penalty Japan?
ReplyDeleteI think it’s outside, but clear foul missed
DeleteIn normal circumstances yes, in this World Cup it’s hard to know exactly where the line is now.
DeleteNo if the line is not a foul only if it’s a red card then there is a big problem. Here clear foul, both players holding the attacker. Just missed by the crew, nothing with guidelines.
DeleteClear missed faoul and yc on 79 min two player holding one player
ReplyDeleteWhat kovas do when he drop the ball touch japonais player and ask him to return it to Tunisia did the law change?
ReplyDeleteOverall ok performance, easy game even if there was some incidents in the beginning of the game.
ReplyDeleteFor me 1st JAP goal should have been disallowed for a clear push offence on the defender.
Some questions also on the foul detection, nothing more to say about his performance.
I think that FIFA will be satisfied with Kovacs today, surely a 2nd game will follow. The difficulty of Tunisia-Japan was well below what he is used with in UCL. Kovacs had no major problems, the second half was strong, and the first one good enough. And, no cards showed. All the interesting moments were reported above, I don't have anything else to add to highlists, I am looking forward to Mikael's MD2 review.
ReplyDeleteGood performances by Kovacs and Ma Ning, expected level from both of them!
ReplyDeleteI think the first goal of japan was clear foul so it should have been dis allowed

ReplyDelete"Felix has been examined and is doing well. The injury was a muscle spasm caused by an abnormal movement. He is fine and can continue in the tournament, which makes us and him very happy."
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
DeleteGaray will not receive a 2nd game and Beida and Ghorbal neither. I am not sure about Abatti: he performed not good in his first match but he has a good consideration from Collina.
ReplyDeleteAtcho performed not bad in Norway-Irak, and he deserved a second match, the bad performance of Beida and Ghorbal helped him to obtain this second match.
Maybe a game for Garcia and Scharer in MD3.
In general, good level of refering in this World Cup
Predictions:
Switzerland – Canada: Valenzuela
Bosnia-Qatar : Tello
Marocco – Haiti: Pinheiro
Brazil-Scotland: Ramos
South Africa – South Korea: Letexier
Czech Republic – Mexico: Abatti
My prediction
ReplyDeleteSwitzerland – Canada: Valenzuela
Bosnia-Herzegovina – Qatar: Gorbal
Marocco – Haiti: Pinheiro
Scotland – Brazil: Al-Jassim
South Africa – South Korea: Nyberg
Czech Republic – Mexico: Tello
After MD1 and MD2, I am on 11/48 correct guesses on my day-by-day predictions. While 25% is not necessarily great, my predictions are that Al Ali, Ning, Ghorbal, Abatti, Garay, Hernandez Hernandez will remain with 1 game. Possibly also Eskas and Penso.
ReplyDeleteAnd looks like I am already wrong about Abatti..
