Penalty appeal from Algeria in early minutes. First of all contact was out of the box. When it comes to foul, according to this WC criteria play on is IMO supportable, but in some other competitions I think foul and YC for SPA would be expected decision.

DeleteFull time, very easy match in the end nothing to report analyze with one team trying to go through to the next round. Job well done by the Argentina ref and his team

ReplyDeleteHoever I don't like his way of "communicating" with players: sticking a finger to a player's body, pushing players slightly, once initiating a completely unnecessary handshake with Switzerland's captain, etc..

ReplyDeleteThey don't want to leave extremly discussed incidents without a solution, after the penalty after OFR in GER - PAR, now they explained that the ball was touched by player on the offside and the sensor confirmed that. No need to explain for us, because already clear how it works and one must trust. But of course people will not accept...
However this trend by FIFA is interesting, absolutely different from previous editions in which they were not that much interested in talking about crucial decisions, maybe Mikael will confirm.
Another confimation that they want all people content... and for some aspects, in my opinion, that's also why refereeing is now in a very different condition if compared to past times.
But didn't they have a refereeing press conference after the group stage in previous editions, where some situations were discussed and explained?
DeleteIn general, it would be obviously better to inform the public about changes before such situations occur - especially referring to the disallowed goal in GER-PAR.
