We check periodically the "SPAM" folder and we allow the comments. Unluckily we can't solve that in other ways, the worst thing is that many SPAM comments are not recognized by system, while only the "correct" ones are blocked. Really sorry for that! Referee looks very passive and far behind play. Completely unaware of white goalkeeper's agitation and the push, which for me is a VC-RC. Still too passive when handling the mass confrontation, no authority, walking all the time. Very poor carding procedure. And THEN, strong whistle and body language to caution a red player for dissent. Strange. Poor management and ability to use right intensity at the right moment.

26. Poor sprinting ability and positioning. DOGSO correct, well done by AR. OK carding procedure, but then poor management, does not end discussions, no control of the wall or awareness of players going to protest with AR, does not protect AR at all ("go away" signal from 30 m distance!). Goes to AR for no apparent reason, still no control of the wall, more discussions. Very poor impression of this referee, almost unexisting authority, obvious fitness and management issues.

OVERALL: Thank you very much for these videos! It's of course difficult to get an impression of a referee from such short and isolated clips, but I must say that you have introduced us to an interesting group of young referees, some looking very promising and giving a very good impression (Bodding, Johannessen, Holthe, Haga, and maybe most of all: Kellerhals).

Some look promising from the one clip (Børresen, Berg, Al-Fahad, Sæthern, Vermundsen, Dokset, Håversen, Hafezi) but would need more clips of these.

Not convinced by Aarskog, Bye, Aass, Halsen, Sritharan, Kallerud, Pettersen, Støfringshaug, Haugen and Kringstad for various reasons, but again, more than one clip necessary.

Of the referees with more clips, no good impression of Heydary, Al-Hatam, Knutsen, and least of all, Eggen and Mikalsen.

Does anyone with more insight in Norwegian refereeing who know more about the referees have other impressions?

Hopefully we'll in some years see some of these referees in Eliteserien and with the FIFA badge, apart from some of the last names they all seem to have potential!
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3596681196436096141.post-28697971542227134172020-03-30T02:06:42.538+02:002020-03-30T02:06:42.538+02:0015. Can sprint more and be further forward before the situation? Fitness issue? Looks very talented, tall and authoritatitve referee.

16. Referee could have sensed this being even quicker to the situation. OK final decision with YC to keeper and white 9 - maybe white 22 could have been booked for the foul. Referee is too passive in my opinion, gestures not too confident, and proceeds to card without the mass confrontation being resolved - white 11 keeps arguing with opponents, without reaction from the referee!

17. First a clear foul against white 26 not given. Unneccessary tackle, clear YC-reckless. Referee waaaay too passive. Unaware of injured player. IMO no reason for double yellow - unsporting, rather YC for the yellow player who comes to argue. Poor carding procedure. Looks unmotivated, not good impression, maybe fitness issue.

18. SPA - crucial mistake. Ball is played way too far away from the attacker. Clear and confident referee. Good carding procedure. Referee should have used shirt of another colour.

19. Referee does well initially to whistle foul early, but should then run to the spot to defuse the situation. Behavious by red number 2 could have been considered as VC, quite violent throw. I can accept YC to both players as acceptable. OK carding and communication. Good fitness, but little strange body/arm posture when running.

20. With the benefit of the replay, this looks like a very strong studs up tackle despite taking the ball. Crucial mistake, but difficult and a penalty (+YC or RC) would have been extremely brave. Referee loses unawareness momentarily because of shouts for handball from red team (with new rules = handball, gains advantage in penalty area, with old rules = OK). Good positioning, but should have "sold" the NO PENALTY decision better with gestures.

21. Correct YC-DtR. EXCELLENT awareness and carding procedure!

22. Ball from defender correctly interpreted by referee, so well done to allow the goal. In case of slight touch by attacker it would be difficult - I think this would have had to be considered as undeliberate deflection and therefore offside. Management afterwards could have been better. Caution for dissent immediately, especially the goalkeeper. AR could have been protected better. Good that the caution finally comes though, most important thing. Strong body language and good carding as in the previous clip. I get the impression of a very talented referee.

23. No words for this, the referee and his ARs (same AR1 as in clip 22?) are totally clueless. It's difficult because the referee has to have four things in his mind (1. foul or not, 2. penalty or free kick, 3. YC or RC, 4. identity of the player). But he cannot allow himself this total loss of authority. And in the end, the completely wrong player is sent off. Obvious crucial mistake. Referee with lack of confidence, management, awareness and communication skills.

24. Looks very much like a holding foul on the defender initally, referee maybe positioned too central under the circumstances. Then OK caution for dissent, but poor procedure, calls one player over, but shows card to another one (also see white 4's socks - does he have shin guards??). Then green goalkeeper gets angry for no reason (but infuenced by previous decision(s) probably - no foul, he runs into a player himself. Then OK to give YC and then what looks like direct RC. Takes too long afterwards to discuss with both the dismissed player and other players. Not too good impression of this referee.

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3596681196436096141.post-61202853237817954012020-03-30T02:05:58.987+02:002020-03-30T02:05:58.987+02:001. Referee's sprinting speed not too convincing - looks like fitness issues?

2. Correct SPA. The referee is way too calm and lacks awareness, should have detected immediately that this is SPA. Very calm referee, OK gestures.

3. Ideally a foul first on white (holding), but not very evident, both players using their arms, then blatant pushing, maybe YC for UB. Correct caution for dissent, good procedure, calm, authoritative and clear gestures. I also liked how he kicked the ball back when red player tried to steal metres with the following FK. Little bit unorthodox style, but manages well.

4. Poor positioning, way to lateral without moving towards the center - this can explain AR's intervention, but he obviously should NOT intervene with the flag here, way outside his area of competence. Acceptable to play on, but penalty could also have been given. Very good management of dissent in the technical area. I guess this is from last season in Norway (2019) - it appears they did not use new rules with cards for team officials? This referee looks talented, also from the previous clips. Good fitness

5. DOGSO - holding inside area = red card. Crucial mistake. Ball ends behind the player, but because of the holding IMO. Calm referee, should use more time with instructions to goalkeeper and players outside area before the PK.

6. DOGSO, does not take the ball. Referee is in a bad position, way too central. AR2 could definitely have helped. Crucial mistake for both. Referee may have a courage (decision making) problem or interpretation of situations problem, from this and the last clip.

7. Assuming that the first yellow card is for the slight holding outside the penalty area, this is an obvious crucial mistake. No effect, advantage given = can not caution for SPA, nor is the holding blatant enough. Second YC OK. Referee was influenced by this kind of decision (double yellow) being "in fashion"? Should not allow himself to be surrounded by red team players. Does not manage situation with authority and gain respect of players well.

8. For me ideally a SPA, player's direction is too lateral, but acceptable. Referee could also here have acted with more confidence and quicker communication with AR1. Good fitness, but appears to lack sufficient soft skills and situational awareness.

9. Difficult situation, it looks very much as the player is in the line of vision, but the distance is very long. Easy for the referee to be fooled here. Borderline situation, but for me not a crucial mistake. Unclear whether AR2 raises the flag or not, but he seems to remain standing still, I'm not aware if Norway has particular instructions on these cases, but the flag should have been raised. Good management of the technical area by AR1.

10. Strong tackle, but for me reckless is OK, trailing leg and low hitting point. Good carding procedure and body language.

11. Impossible to say whether correct or not. Judging by the reactions it looks like a crucial mistake (hit his back/shoulder?). OK management. Shameful behaviour of the coach, handled well.

12. For FIFA/UEFA this kind of situation is a crucial mistake, but very difficult in practice: Football expects a penalty to be given. Referee must be supported. Good fitness, good positioning to detect the handball.

13. For me ideally play on, soft football contact. AR should have used beep signal and not active signalling. For me no SPA because of direction, number of defenders and no team mates close. Positioning of the referee maybe too far to the right. Good, strong body language, but I'd prefer the card to come before the referee goes to the penalty spot if he gives a card. Good communicator, maybe could be a little bit more calm.

14. Bad pictures, sure looks like SFP to me, very strong tackle. AR2 could have helped? Excellent, quick, strong body language when carding.

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3596681196436096141.post-5369585362189307512020-03-29T17:30:40.613+02:002020-03-29T17:30:40.613+02:00Really appreciate that, thank you!Really appreciate that, thank you!Jonashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17300518365321366937noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3596681196436096141.post-27816006104155170022020-03-29T13:38:29.763+02:002020-03-29T13:38:29.763+02:00https://www.frf.ro/featured/hategan-suntem-toti-sa...https://www.frf.ro/featured/hategan-suntem-toti-sanatosi-slava-domnului-am-avut-o-tuse-si-m-am-speriat-dar-rezultatul-este-negativ-2/Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3596681196436096141.post-14001707347976142892020-03-29T11:15:06.497+02:002020-03-29T11:15:06.497+02:00FIFATV match of the day

The action of the Yellow/Black player was active offside, even if he only partly executes the attempt to play the ball; correct penalty for tripping; great caution for dissent -> this clip should be shown in seminars as textbook practice, well done referee and AR2.

14 – Referee could have prevented the situation by whistling the clear holding first, no scope for delayed whistle considering two Yellow players were there; then two clear UBs by red team players: player whose push caused the head collision, and then the GK who drags an injured player.

15 – Quite tricky to say who won the position but looks like a defensive foul should have been given; fine to run away to PREVENT dissents, but to run away FROM dissents is unacceptable, referee should have shown more courage.

16 – Sorry but that is a disgusting decision: referee HAS to protect his teammates, totally UNACCEPTABLE that he only cautioned the Blue player for pushing his AR. Unacceptable!!

17 – Blatant DtR – referee either has to caution the Red player (better solution), or allow the game to continue because one could argue the Blue player kicked it deliberately at his opponent and passage in the LotG says play to continue in that case. As a training material for referees: just issue a YC here, it is not only the more tactically valuable solution, it’s the fairer one.

18 – Very tricky situation: I don’t envy the referee here at all! The question is, who judges the flight of the ball / fight for the position better between Black no.15 and Red no.17. In the end. I would argue a genuine grey area where either call was acceptable. Referee’s management was textbook: strong whistle, go over to the spot of the foul, good use of supercilious gestures, slow the game down by forcing a ‘ceremonial’ restart.

19 – Tricky situation: probability of the attacker controlling the ball looks quite high (low bounce, position of defenders), so rather DOGSO in my view.

20 – Hard to say how much the tackle impacted the attacker’s shot, but it seems as though the braver and correct decision in this case would be to issue a YC for reckless tackle to the Yellow/Blue player.

Can we expect any of these referees to be on the FIFA list in due course (I was impressed by Anders Bodding and in particular Sander Johannessen)?Mikael Whttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05362465559010649548noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3596681196436096141.post-24290503534189603542020-03-28T13:55:17.976+01:002020-03-28T13:55:17.976+01:00Thank you Pedro Irmatov for all these clips! I offer my view

1 – Foul by Blue no.3 is borderline careless/reckless but to evaluate it as reckless seems wise; violent conduct by Blue no.3, should be a RC not SYC; gestures / mimics dealing with the benches were inflammatory and arrogant – if he ejects the coach he should issue a RC

2 – Hard to assess without replays but high force did indeed look like SFP by Red no.4; considering Red no.26 infringes referee’s personal space he could have been sent off too, YC is probably okay in the end, good that referee punished it at all; I guess referee lost the face of the player he sent off momentarily: why he didn’t back up or face the heavy dissent more firmly; he was the ‘loser’ of the talk with Red no.21 – more firmness / empathy needed there?

3 – Very dangerous tackle, (even) UEFA are trying to outlaw these high force scissor tackles: SFP for me.

4 – Wild tackle, only intention is to hurt his opponent: SFP

5 – Very clear handling by White player that referee cannot see (AR1? Is there an FO?) who then tries to kick his opponent – it seems fairly likely that a dangerous tackle would then come, referee had some chances to prevent that with a whistle (hard though when attacker still has the ball); high force, straight leg: SFP.

6 – Yellow player lost control of his body, in UEFA that’s probably a YC nowadays but I agree with the referee: SFP; it seems the referee forgot about the injured player though.

7 – Very odd tackle by the Blue/Yellow player, high hitting point: SFP. Good that the referee didn’t want other Blue/Yellow players to impede on the stricken player, but he should refrain from pushing them.

8 – Very good awareness, easy to miss such a random violent act: VC.

9 – Impossible to discern, referee should be backed.

10 – Correct freekick; terrible lack of awareness from the referee, two clear DtRs missed and very evitable mass confrontation breaks out.
