At least whenever I saw him he was good, I think his style is underappreciated in England, compared to what it would be in a different nation.

@Jovan all referees in PL since 2001, and Championship since 2016 and they have to resign their day job.
Webb, Atkinson, Foy, Wiley et al only had ceremonial roles once they joined PL at least as I understand it.
Iain Williamson (from my local association!) was offered a place on PL list, but turned it down because he had an on-off knee injury and he wanted job security (he worked in insurance/sales). So Whitestone is no isolated case- there can be some negative cases of professional refereeing. I believe that it is even more important !!) and so he won't be able to direct the final EU anyway, I remind you that Oliver has been whistling in Premier for 8 years and that in the last two or three years he has been whistling all the most important TOP Premier matches. Do you think you have a problem doing the EU final? Do you think he lacks experience just because he is 33 years old?
I completely disagree with what you say: "he has to proof himself in years to come and hope to get some semifinal first"
In fact PLC , who is more skilled than me and you, after a few months of Elite sent him to Madrid.
The world is going fast, think that all the referees are equal, that everyone has to do the same training of years and years before getting to a European semifinals is an old and outdated way of thinking. Both for stage and for difficulty. If you have nothing to do that day tuned in to Wembley Stadium and you understand a lot.
