Georgi Kabakov

Denmark - Austria (8.3)

Acceptable no-penalty call (04'), correctly disallowed goal due to offside (much delayed call, 69), particular penalty as the ball was played but there was an extra leg movement afterwards, YC for DOGSO with attempt to play the ball (71'). No card given to 22AUT for persistent and to 4AUT for pulling down the goalkeeper (at least stern warning should've been given).

Rather likes to be in the background.

France - Romania (8.3)

Rejected penalty appeal after push (18'). Lenient at the beginning, used his personality and issued three stern warnings instead of YCs fortacklespa-like foul and dissent. Then, he opened cards at 14' for reckless tackle. Maybe one, two missed cards.

Very firm but easily communicating with players, respected by them through the whole game.

Spain - France, Semifinal (8.3)

The game was quite challenging for him as he had to face three tricky penalty incidents (Portuguese VAR backed all of them). In 12', there is a handball that IMO should've been a penalty but it's not as clear as it looks like. The ball is bouncing between the bodies and then is touched by oustretched arm of French defender. Acceptable no VAR intervention? One minute later penalty in favour of France is awardedfor what is a bit late defender's intervention with arm that is put close to neck/head of attacking player. Surely acceptable decision to whistle it but having in mind the previous call... Another penalty is awarded, this time for Spain, in 45+4'. It looks like a dive at first but looking closely at replays we can detect a stamp offence (and quite late reaction by ESP player). Another acceptable decision.

As in his previous game, Kabakov chose to not issue (mandatory?) YCs to 11ESP for reckless stamp from behind and 3FRA for reckless use of arm at the beginning, Then the 11ESP was fouled many times what could have been deemed as persistent infringement but Kabakov was aware that some if not all reactions were really exaggerated and let it go unpunished. Still respected as in his previous games.
