Nicholas Waldron is second option from New Zealand behind Matthew Conger whom he accompanied to officiate the opening game of the 2019/20 Saudi Professional League season - with Conger working hard to handle games in China and Saudi Arabia, it seems that he will attend a second sequential World Cup. With Abdelkader Zitouni showing at the recent Under-20 World Cup that he is a referee on a WC level, it is very hard to imagine that Waldron will be in Qatar (strong times for OFC!).
