OT: Allard Lindhout is appointed for a low profile match on Sunday (Heracles - Almere City), but with a full international crew (Kooij 4O, Higler VAR). Given this I wouldn't be surprised to see him in UCL coming Thursday, what would be his debut. Maybe for Brest - Sturm Graz?

Gözübüyük is appointed coming Tuesday, so we won't see him in UCL coming week
Lindhout with a full international crew in Almelo is indeed remarkable, given the nature of the game, and early season. Good spot!

ReplyDeleteAnother incident involving Ferrieri Caputi, again with Cameroon in Round of 16 game.
This was a very phantom call... handball by attacker didn't exist at all.
Delayed whistle and then overruled without OFR, after having been rewatched by either fourth or fifth official.
And from Mexico - USA, Iuliana Demetrescu, penalty after OFR during extra times, called by USA.

So, assessed as DOGSO, but hard to think this was a genuine attempt to play ball...
I would argue under the news LotG, which state «attempt to play the ball or a challenge for the ball» that this is an attempt to challenge for the ball and therefore YC is the expected decision.

DeleteRegardless of her off field qualities, one of her jobs would have been to replace the onfield referee where the "dynamics and importance" would have been felt in possibly every decision, not just at a monitor

FIFA thought about both situations, which is why Reibelt is there.
