  1. Good match for Beaton with an important observer; I guess that it is deserved after many years under the dark shadow

  2. One can describe as regular the assignments of Krogh, Lindhout, Treimanis (still giving him something as trusted Category 1 with experience), Jug (always appointed, as said), Petrescu and Gishamer (nice to see him with Cakir as observer, and the Austrian is following a path).

While I have something to say about the other two.

The case of Beaton is very strange to me, years and years without any interest by committee, and then now something like an "explosion" when he is 43 years old and rather in a final moment of his careee for some aspects. So why not before? First answer I gave is that Collum had all the focus as only Scottish Elite referees for years in recent times, and so, going even behind that, finding other names, was not immediate. Nevertheless, if they wanted to create something good with Scottish refereeing, they could have surely made it. Now it seems as Walsh needs time (CL debut, but then nothing followed, must wait EURO Under 21 and next season). A pity because Beaton could have got more. De Bleeckere is a particular observer, he is very often with young and promising referees, well, that's not the case of the Scottish, but you can read the ide betwen the lines...

Second point for discussion: Gozubuyuk. Trying to read his reputation by committee seems hard. He has alternated very good moments with also remarkable games even in CL KO stage, and this looked to be the start of a process, then other periods in which he looked to be even disappeared, but then back with low games and competitions like Europa and Conference League. As for today, it seems as the final assessment for him is that it will be hard to create something more, but I think he can be more than satisfied for what he achieved because if we go back at the times when he was Category 1... well, the challenge of becoming Elite was one of the most difficult ones of his life.. so in the end, maybe he is just getting what he deserved. But very hard as said, if not impossible, to find a line by analyzing over the years his journey in UEFA.

    1. To add something here as a Dutchman. I don't think Gozubuyuk has been better than he is at the moment. His last matches were very good. Hopefully he continues that trend in Europe
