No Nicoleta Bria with Rusta - is there a reason Bria is always with Rusta and not with fellow English officials instead? Is it because she can speak other languages and Rusta doesn’t have 2 assistants?

ReplyDeleteTensions are mounting in Hungarian refereeing: the president is penalizing top-flight assistant referees.
Serious tensions are reportedly growing within the Hungarian refereeing committee. A few weeks ago, top-flight assistant referees conducted an anonymous survey, with more than 85% participating. Based on the results, they submitted a multi-point list of requests to the Committee - only to have all of them rejected.
Now, in an unprecedent move, four newcomers are set to make their top-flight debut in the upcoming round. The committee chairman has also reportedly told referees and assistants several times, that he would "make sure nobody gets away without consequences" and that, if necessary, he would replace the entire top-division assistant referee pool.
All this apparently because the assistants dared to express their concerns and make requests. If true, this raises serious questions about communication, trust and the way dissent is handled within hungarian refereeing.
