It's worthy of being discussed, for underlining how different can be in terms of perception the same foul if the fouled player has a reaction or another. In this case, the fouled player tries to resist to the challenge and he continues for a while without any clue of what has happened. This is why the original perception of referee is absolutely wrong, and indeed if you watch live sequence without knowing, you can't immediately think about something like that.
That said, paradoxically this is another case in which a player trying to continue action (this can happen only in English and other similar football cultures) goes against him in terms of possible decisions by referee. Indeed I think that if the player had immediately "shown" the injury, there would have been a different approach by both referee and VAR. Surely referee would have whistled the foul, then I think VAR would have analyzed more. But on the contrary, as it happened, no foul by referee and rather late control by VAR, the perception was distorted and in the end they cleared it without any action (not a scandal, but extremely controversial).
After 22 years, the Turkish female referee officiated matches at the highest level, but I think she gave a very bad performance.
