  1. A kind gesture, perhaps, toward Peljto, to appoint him nonetheless for a game in this international window, but the outcome about final selection was very clear and there are no surprises. He remains a referee of high level, but this year he has clearly performed below expectations. Certainly, some decisions by Rosetti committee have been rather very harsh toward him, but these are evidently the parameters. Perhaps, in the earlier part of his career, he had maximized his performances toward the upper end, if we can use such a metaphor, and now he paid something, but he remains an excellent referee for his ability to make firm decisions in heated contexts.
Next, Kruzliak, much has already been said about him here, in my opinion, he is appointed also because he has been previously pre-selected for the World Cup, but he has always been highly regarded by Rosetti, who gave him this further game, even though a very secondary one. In my view, the Slovakian is the typical example of a referee who, even if not a phenomenon from a technical standpoint, but extremely "reliable", can obtain that little bit extra.

    1. All right, Chefren. Although, in my opinion, choosing Taylor (who has consistently put in poor performances, particularly in the UCL) and leaving Pejito at home doesn't seem to reward reliability and quality.

    2. On Taylor, it appears to me like he is one of the referees that are not allowed to even a single mistake because they everyone will come out to comment every decision scrutinized, I feel he doesn't deserve these hate speeches. When he performances well that was a OK match rather (single). I feel sorry for him.
Yet others when they have bad games people don't comment because they don't want to undermine their own perspective, country and political background

    3. Lastly, Taylor is one of very best in the world but when it comes to UEFA he's limited not because of underperforming but his overwhelming age which is getting closer to half century (47).

    4. I understand your point and respect it. But please believe that my personal assessment contains no hatred or disdain (and there never will be), but simply an opinion that, after nearly 50 years as AIA national referee and then as observer, I feel I can express based on experience. Mr. Taylor was a good referee in the past, but today, perhaps also due to his age, he is no longer so. Modern football is dynamic; it requires athletic speed, positioning, and decision-making skills that Taylor no longer possesses. That's all.

    5. Ok I can now see where you are coming from (point of view) which I genuinely appreciate but still he is not that bad to miss probably his last WC for the Bosnian (Peljto) .If can manage over 25 premier League games which in many cases the best league in the world with some astonishing performances , He deserves some compliments

    6. … but maybe he deserves more compliments than a WC appointment 😉

    7. He will get a quarter final tie at the WC and perhaps another one in the Champion's league first leg which is extraordinary by of his age

  2. If I was Peljto, I would protest and refuse to be the referee in this game. Unfortunately he can't speak out against this mobbing he's facing

  3. GIBLVA (Ivan Kružliak)

62' - penalty awarded for pushing (the Slovak was very clear with his gestures) and YC5GIB for SPA-no attempt (possible DOGSO although the direction of the movement is rather away from goal) but actually it was tripping that caused the fall, what the attacker showed to the referee

Another KMI was possible 2YC to 4LVA for reckless use of arm (80', play-on) but, unfortunately, no proper replay was shown.
