  1. Interesting appointments. Special focus on the referees recently promoted to Category 1 (Guida, Sánchez Martínez, Petrescu, Schärer...).
Kehlet under the eyes of Karlsson, former committee member, that is another particular choice, I think committee wants to understand more aobut him after a not convincing period following his CL debut.

    1. And Konrad Sapela still active: He already accompanied Tomasz Mikulski 21 (!) years ago at the UCL qualifier FC Zimbru - Újpest FC.

    2. Stegemann doesn't really fit into this list as new FIFA referee. Therefore very good first appointment for him.

Yesterday, the new season in Switzerland began and VAR was used for the first time. Referee Sandro Schärer (FIFA 1st) gave a penalty and VAR Stephan Klossner (FIFA 2nd) invited him to have a second look. Together they made the right call and took the penalty back; a decision that is fully correct and well appreciated by the public as well (media and fans). So, great start for Swiss referees with much discussed VAR!
Unfortunately, I don‘t have a video that can be watched outside of Switzerland, but if I find one I‘ll definelty post a link.

  3. Kehlet has performed very good in the danish super league last season, by far the Best Referee. I look forward to follow his international matches, danish referees is a bit behind, we really need VAR, last season was full af many mistskes, goal, offside, penalty and red card. The division has announced that for the 20/21 season VAR Will be introduced to the danish superleague

  4. In 25 days, the UEFA Super Cup 2019 between Liverpool and Chelsea will be kicked off.
Which referee has the best chances for you for the first European final in the 2019/2020 season?
For me there are two big candidates that can be considered: Cüneyt Çakir and Clement Turpin.

For Mr. Çakir, his international experience, which is in demand in such a game, his excellent season 2018/2019 and the home advantage might also play a role (match takes place in Istanbul). It would be a sign of appreciation from UEFA and Roberto Rosetti to give him this grand finale, for his services to European refereeing are enormous.

Clement Turpin has become a safe elite referee, especially last season. After the EURO 2016, WC 2018 and the final of the Champions League 2017/2018 as the fourth official, he is a strong candidate for this prestigious game. If he does not get this game, he is IMO one of the biggest candidates for the Europa League Final 2020.

    What do you all mean?

    1. I agree regarding Cakir and Turpin.
The argument against Cakir would be, that in the last years the Supercup referee never had a previous EL or CL final.
Therefore I see Turpin as the number one favourite.

Other candidates are Hategan and Mateu. The question behind the Romanian is, whether his VAR experience is considered big enough and behind Mateu, whether Undiano's Nations League final prevents his appointment.

      Delete
    2. IMO it would be nice to have Mateu appointed because I dont know how many times will happen that none spanish team is in any UEFA final.

      Delete
  5. About Super Cup, indeed I think Mateu will have strong arguments there. Committee could use this chance to appoint a Spanish referee.

  6. Crucial mistake by IStvan Vad in Sutjeska Apoel game. He gave a penalty for Apoel in a situation where there was barely any contact and definitely not any illegal one

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Another interesting situation, although less clear. Apoel goalie intervened with a slide tackle outside of the box. He did manage to get to the ball first but then really hard contact with goalies leg high up followed with Sutjeska attacker.

      Delete
    2. Know penalty for Sutjeska. Goaloie tripped Sutjeska attacker from behind in a clear goal scoring situation and, since foul was inside the box rightfully yellow card given.

  8. Guida with a good and quiet game in Plzen. Challenging and balanced game. Referee had all under control. AR1 with one false offside case (87' Mihalik). Offender was in the same line with the last OLY defender (Semedo).

    2. The wrong offside flag in 87':
      https://streamable.com/b67hg
I think there weren't real effects on the OGSO because player was able to shot on goal and keeper saved, before players realized that it was offside.
About the possible penalty, referee could have whistled it after having received the offside signal by AR1, because this was a previous situation, not related to offside. If referee gave advantage (I don't understand his gesture, if "play on" or "advantage") and then game was stopped for a wrong offside, without the chance to return back, indeed this was a poor management.

      Delete
    3. Thank you for your feedback Chefren.About offside situation I meant “he prevented DOGSO situation” that IMO AR made a big mistake. If the player could score, the mark of AR would be 7.9. That’s why I mentioned like this.I just tried to explaine the situation clearly for the readers.

    1. My friend, 5 missed yellow cards and a missed red card would be a mark below 7.0

      Delete
    2. Actually, the mark would be 7.4 if all missed cautions are CLEAR.

      Delete
    3. Dear friends,
If you give 2 correct penalties It also means that something positive on your mark. You can not kill the referee like this to give 7.0 or 7.4

Normally, My mark would be 7.8 for this match.2 correct penalties getting mark higher than 8.4...But 5 missed yellow cards getting mark lower...Finally mark would be around 7.8

But anyway I always appreciated for your feedback

      RF

      Delete
    4. But you have also said a missed red card, where the referee did not even blow for a foul. In this case it is a 0.5 deduction on top of the deduction for missed yellow cards.

      Delete
    5. @RF

Actually 2 correct penalties won't, necessarily, get the mark to 8.5. According to quidelines, the referee is expected to whistle any penalty and can't not be rewarded when doing his job properly. Moreover match difficulty also plays a part when assigning the mark. 8.5 and above is usually given to "quite" of "very" challenging matches.

So with starting mark of 8.4 and with a crucial mistake the mark goes down to 7.9. Then 5 CLEAR missed cautions take the mark to 7.4.

  14. Petrescu with a good performance. Correct penalty and cautions in the first half. It was nice to see he is taking the disciplinary actions from the beginning. Spot on red card for VC in the end of the game.

  15. I'm absolutely delighted by Sandro Schärer's performance in BATE v Rosenborg! Correct early penalty (5'), also spot on with yellow cards in the first twenty minutes (not a shadow of hesitation!).

But what was the X-factor was his positioning through the whole game - very close to play but never interfering with it! In addition he was present after almost every free kick decision (great preventive acting). He was always firm and 100% sure about his decisions, rather serious but also able to smile at the end (84'). Clear but unobtrusive gestures.

For sure he's future Elite referee and I recommend to watch the full match record to learn from him. Excellent!

    1. After seeing live both this match and CFR Cluj - Astana last week, Sanchez Martinez gave me a way better impression than Alexander Harkam, who refereed last week's game.

The Spaniard always seemed in control and his decisions were fully accepted by the players, while Harkam had an overly lenient style, tolerated dissent from start to finish, accepted time-wasting tactics from both teams, missed at least 3 mandatory YC's, countless fouls and also a clear penalty for CFR for holding in the 1st half.

I don't know on which criteria these "grades" are based on, but from a spectator point of view the difference between these two performances was enormous.

  22. When I found Dr. Aire I was in desperate need of bringing my ex lover back. He left me for another woman. It happened so fast and I had no say in the situation at all. He just dumped me after 4 years with no explanation. I contact Dr.Aire through his website and He told me me what i need to do before he can help me and i did what he told me to, after i provided what he wanted, he cast a love spell to help us get back together. Shortly after he did his spell, my boyfriend started texting me again and felt horrible for what he just put me through. He said that I was the most important person in his life and he knows that now. We moved in together and he was more open to me than before and then he started spending more time with me than before. Ever since Dr. Aire helped me, my partner is very stable, faithful and closer to me than before. I highly recommends Dr. Aire to anyone in need of help.
