Just hoping Peter Bankes and the crew are OK. Any ideas why they've been replaced
ReplyDeleteGiven the current issues with COVID again, maybe this can be reason...
DeleteAnother idea could be a flight issue couldn't it
DeleteTerrible decision from English crew in Qarabag game, third Qarabag goal was from a very clear offside

Offside, very likely AR didn't identify the correct player. Important mistake because at set piece.
Klaksvik v Bodo postponed until Wednesday. 1800 local (19h cet) due to fog at airport delaying arrival of Bodo until afternoon of matchday
ReplyDeleteSadly the serious decisive mistake of Mr Fuxman in RFS-HJK. Penalty denied for RFS in the final minute, who went ahead to lose in the penalty shotout.
ReplyDeleteFuxman in RFS-HJK with couple handball situations. The decisions went against the home team which caused lot of dissent. Any thoughts?
ReplyDeleteIn the video 0:55 and 5:15. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4TRAgXYW1tU&ab_channel=HJKTV
One can't say anything without clear replays, in the first case I think it can be borderline, because ball touched other part of body before, second case, if directly handball, should be punishable but very difficult to say...
DeleteOne could easily miss that, so I post it here, too.

Tirana - Diddeleng (1-2) Referee: Cèzar Soto Grado
ReplyDeletePenalty appeal ? 19'
https://streamable.com/njae59
SFP ? 87'
https://streamable.com/9y7mpk
19' I would support the decision, penalty can be given, but to me never a clear foul by keeper on attacker. The latter seems to use a certain malice to make a movement in order to find a contact, play on seems to be acceptable for this reason. To say it in other words, you don't have the perception that it is keeper to go against attacker missing ball, but rather a mutual collision. I would be quite sure no VAR intervention for this case.
Delete87' Possible RC for SFP, but it must be given by referee in case, given the point of contact and low tackle, YC is OK, but RC not a clear and obvious mistake mostly for the force used by player.
19: should be a penalty + RC for DOGSO, I think the holding by defender is decisive in the attacker not being able to go round the goalkeeper and score.
Delete87: excessive force.
Calls which in yesteryear which would distinguish the good referees from the great ones (courage to take brave and unpopular decisions), especially in such an atmosphere. Nowadays it is better to 'keep your head down' and decide as-uncontroversially-as-possible, like Soto Grado did both times here. It's a shame IMO.
I have to say that I'm agree with Mikael W. It's true that contact from defender it's not to much,we all can agree that it is a slight contact but it's totally different a slight contact when you are challenging the opponent for the ball and when you try to stop the opponent by pushing or holding with no chance to play the ball. Penalty would fit better then play on for me
DeleteThank god we’re not living in yesteryear anymore, where bravery and courage apparently defined the best referees (and matches being decided by showmen being ‘brave’ and ‘courageous’).
DeleteVery good Yc awarded for a late reckless tackle!
RIGAS SKOLA vs HJK HELSINKI (4-5 after p.)
ReplyDeleteDavid Fuxman (Israel)
Weather Condition :
Rainy,cold and windy
Match Description :
Difficult and challenging match for the referee team.It wasn’t easy to control the game for this inexperienced referee. There were 11 yellow cards! The match went to penalties ,HJK qualified.
Yellow Cards :
min 20 (+) protesting (RIG)
min 20 (+) protesting (RIG)
min 28 (+) reckless (RIG)
min 38 (+) holding (RIG)
min 44 (+) tactical (HJK)
min 65 (+) holding (RIG)
min 75 (+) protesting (RİG)
min 81 (+) spa (HJK)
min 92 (+) illegal use of arm (HJK)
min 100 (-) SFP.must be red card (RIGA)

min 73 (-) kicking opponent reckless on the wall before set piece
min 89 (-) reckless (RIG)
min 118 (-) tactical / holding (HJK)
Missed Red Cards :
min 100 (-) SFP / studs on achilles (RIG).yellow card given
min 113 (-) second yellow / step on foot (RIG)
Missed Penalties :
min 20 (-) missed penalty / handball in favour of RIG.This was not a support arm since the defender blocked the ball by hand after the cross ball from long distance. There was a huge protest, after all the referee showed 2 yellow cards.
Other Points :
min 56 (+) excellent onside decision before 2nd goal of RIG -AR2-
min 73 (-) Before the goal of HJK from the set piece attacker was very close to the wall less than 1 meter
min 90+3 penalty appeal for RIG. Referee correctly decided not a punishable handball. Ball comes to the open arm but first played by his own leg after the cross ball.
“My question is that“ if a player removes his shirt after the last penalty shoot-out for celebration should it be punished by yellow card ?”
MARK : 7.4 (referee was not strong enough and good for this match. He should’ve read the game better from the beginning until the end.He made 2 crucial mistakes beside some missing yellow cards. I agree the match was very difficult but control was not enough and he is not ready for these kinds of matches.)
ZALGIRIS vs BALKANI (1-0 after Extra Time)
ReplyDeleteKristoffer Haganes (Norway)
Weather Condition :
Rainy and cold weather, artificial field.
Match Description :
Normal game, not so many difficult situations for the referee. He did well with good control and management.

min 51 (+) reckless (BAL)
min 53 (-) played with ball even no foul (ZAL)
min 77 (+) illegal use of arm (ZAL)
min 118 (+) protesting (BAL)
Other Points :
min 5 (-) GK saved the ball inside. No clear replay but it can be seen that his left leg and arm are clearly inside. AR2 is in the correct position on the line. Goal should have been awarded for ZAL.
MARK : 8.3 (Referee did well even last minute changed appointment.)
QARABAG vs LECH POZNAN (5-1)
ReplyDeleteAndrew Madley (England)
Weather Condition :
Good
Match Description :
Even the away team scored at first minute of the match home team won the game 5-1 at the end. There were crucial decisions (missed penalty for LECH and offside goal QAR) in the match. Tough match ended with crucial mistakes for the English referee team.

Missed Yellow Cards :
min 37 (-) reckless.Yellow card must be shown after the advantage. (QAR)
min 43 (-) two players push each other when the ball is out of play. This is not a good image. It must be 2 yellow cards instead of warning.
Other Points :
min 8 (+) no penalty decision / challenging with ball
min 15 (-) miss penalty + yellow card in favour of LECH / pushing behind + spa
min 40 (?) disallowed LECH goal for a foul before. No clear replay.
min 56 (-) 3rd goal of QAR must be disallowed for offside -AR2-
MARK : 7.8 (Unfortunately referee decisions changed the result of the game and qualifier team.)
LINCOLN vs SHKUPI (2-0)
ReplyDeleteFlip Glova (Slovakia)

Good condition,artificial field.

min 82 (+) spa (SHK)
min 86 (+) reckless (SHK)
90+3 (+) trainer of (LIN)
Missed Yellow Cards :
min 29 (-) reckless (SHK)
min 24 (-) pulling (LİN)
min 86 (-) pushing opponent who committed reckless foul (LIN)
MARK : 8.3 (He is ready for the next round.)
I thought 3 missed YC cant be 8.3. For each YC they give -0.1 to the report.
DeleteIt can be, if the grade would otherwise be 8.6. However, 3 yellow cards missed seems quite a lot for expected level. But than again, it can be!
DeleteToo much leniency from Nobre, man would not show YC even if someone killed someone.
ReplyDeleteTo much leniency from Jorgji too. He is walking on the pitch most of the time
ReplyDeleteGood first half made by Fabbri. He was in total control in a low difficulty game. But I am not sure about the cancelled goal for offside, I will have to see a replay once again.
ReplyDeletePoor performance from Nobre in Dinamo Batumi - Slovan Bratislava.
ReplyDeleteMissed at least 1 penalty for Batumi and Batumi goal from the first minutes of the game was clearly onside not offside
+ 3-4 YC missed
DeleteAny information on the appointment of Glova
ReplyDeletegood control of the game, great movement on the pitch and fittnes, missed 2 YC but overall I think it was quite convincing from the 34-year old Slovakian
