  3. I said one hoor ago in the other cl on tuesday.
Rosetti goes further give italian this type of matches.
    Its a a shame!

    Mariani and Guida.
    No neutrality at all.

    Its a mess

  4. Well... Vinčič is treated differently. At EURO, after very weak performance in ESPITA, directly appointed to a semi-final. Now, after weak GERNED in UNL, appointed to the biggest clash on the following UCL matchday. Rosetti said last season that only the quality of performances matters? Heh...

    1. They have removed VAR from duties and they think that's enough but first responsibilities for the missed red card belong to main referee. However, it's really incredible to observe the path of Vincic, one shouldn't have enough words to comment it.

    2. They throw his VAR under the bus though.

Incredible management of Vinčić after a shielded 23/24 season with no decisive appointments in big games, a Champions League final (even UEFAs official Twitter channel cheering him 📣), two early appointments at the EURO followed by the most football-friendly semi (should have been the other semi-final to protect Zwayer), Vinčić is now officially “settled” as one of the top referees, with his well-known style of not taking any big decisions in big games to avoid being the talk of the town after games. And while both Germany and Netherlands didn’t complain about him, he’s undermining the LOTG and uniformity. I miss Marciniak.

    3. As I explained in the other thread, the reason for removing Kajtazovic is his domestic suspension from all duties, while even suspicions of match fixing have been all over sports media in Slovenia.

  5. Yea you are right,
But that includes also that the two Italian not referee in CL.

It is so calculated and he goes further with this selection.
He is setting high on the Mountain with no one critisism his choices in the board.

  6. Marciniak is still absent; does anybody know why ? I guess he should now have passed the fitness test, because since almost two months have been lats since the summer gather. I didn't follow all Vincic's match, but on the paper it seems that he always get the best, the most sonorous and most rewarded match.......... Not a bad treatment :-) while Makkelie seems penalized, his match is really out of focus, let's hope that he is under preservation for the final big match

    1. Chefren said it earlier this year. The road to the final was for Vincic the same as Makkelie at this moment.
Stay away from controverses and big faults.

I think chefren has right when you see the appointments of Vincic after CL final

    1. Peter, I made a crucial mistake. Will you forgive me?

  8. Vincic getting now top game after top game, quite clear that appointments for this set of CL games were made before Nations League games. So this explains why you have Vincic but not his VAR (now the fact that he was originally appointed as AVAR in Real - Borussia but then replaced, can be confirmed). For committee is enough to confirm the Slovenian.
Also Peljto assistant referee who had definitely the poorest possible performance in Nations League game, was confirmed, but of course Bosnian crew deserved another CL game.
Oliver with a rather sub standard game for him, but the fact he will be about to officiate an Italian team (you know the story) raises the bar.
Still, we talk about a team that gets always Cat. 1 referees in all CL games, like the Swiss one, but you can clearly draw again the conclusion about Italian teams and the management by Rosetti (over-appointed, in case, but never under-appointed).
Regular games for Makkelie, Meler, Guida and Schärer (in that regard, it has been confirmed that Mazic was there for an experienced Elite, regular observation, and not for a Young referee).
Kruzliak gets a bit less than previous appearances, but still Champions League, and one must also observe the incredible excellent path of French club.
Back to Makkelie, it seems that now he is following a certain regular path without being too much in the spotlight, to me, it would be also the right time to save a bit this referee from the possible risks and to ensure him finally a good path, would be fully deserved. We will see how he will continue.
Mariani: honestly, crucial mistake after crucial mistake, a very dark YC missed in his Nations League game, I see that now committee is giving him rather low profile games, like this one in which City win is fully expected, that's the way for committee, to give a referee still Champions League, but not an interesting game. Mariani is in a position that he must become Italian Elite nr. 3 but I absolutely don't see him ready for that. At moment he should keep his Category 1 status, but I think committee will close eyes and will promote him (in case, unfair, if other referees from Elite will be demoted for performance reasons, but we will have time to discuss that).
Finally, a message to RvT: your opinions are clear, nevertheless it would be good to discuss also about other arguments and not always repeating same things about Italian referees and so on, furthermore, I think you should always analyze case by case, if I can agree on Mariani, at moment I can't say that Guida is this disaster you are describing. I think you are not fullu objective, said with respect.

  9. For me Chefren,

Both referees are not good enough for the elite.
Its not about the anti italian.

I was a big fan of Collina and Rizzoli.

But Rosetti is not fair to other referees. Honestly is for me a big privilege. And that is far off...

And if there is a good italian referee i will say that.

  10. I want to ask what is the first source or official platform that publishes the list of referees. I run a news account and I'm interested in being quick. I would be grateful if someone could answer me.

    1. What do you mean by saying "list of referees"? The official appointments for CL games?
Then, answer is uefa.com, but there isn't any list, you should collect them opening each page of the respective game, if you want to write down all of them in a single post / article.

  12. I would like to underline the very important contribution by Sale (thank you sir!) regarding Kajtazovic, link to his comment is below:

    1. That's shocking, how could you trust referee when it's fully clear that ball was back after the crossbar...

    2. You can't really believe that the expert Slovenian referee specialized as VAR would do something like this, but watching the video, you must be speechless.
He worked with Vincic for a long time.
After the famous story of Vincic years ago, now this one about another Slovenian.
Referees from other countries would have been thrown out of the window ages ago.
      I'm really sorry to say...

    3. My pleasure. There are sports media reports that Kajtazovic is facing quite a lot of trouble and even speculations about continuation of his career. Not only accusations about possible match fixing, it is reported that he was recently also fired as a PE teacher in one of elementary schools because of a fraud regarding his travel expences. Tough times ahead for Kajtazovic.

    4. there is another dubious penalty from 55:30 and further....

    5. There is a lot of video material also from other matches refereed by Kajtazovic, mostly very suspicious penalty decisions in friendly maches. But I didn't want to bother you.

    6. Crikey - that's awful. How he thought he would get away with such a blatant ruling is criminal!!

  13. Well shocking predictions on my part!!

Again, didn't really expect so many officials to get matches after appearing on MD2.

Also, surprising how little cat 1 appointments on Wed, is there a need for Elite on a number of these fixtures? - Probably not!

Not sure the country spread is quite right too with 2 out of 3 matches officiated by French referees with Arsenal, 2 Italians with City and Lille also 2 Germans for Monaco and Zvezda (surely this can be avoided so early on).

    1. Also noticed that Zwayer twice in Italy (Milan both) along with Eskas whilst Shrarer in Germany twice - again, surely better to give these officials a variety of European cities.

    1. I don't think that's so extraordinary. I remember very well that Arthur Ellis officiated three home games of Hibernian FC against Rot-Weiss-Essen, Djurgårdens IF and Stade de Reims within 6 months and 6 days in the 1955/56 season.

  15. Makkelie getting the crumbs once again... This gotta stop.

  16. Interesting that MD3 + MD4 UCL were not appointed as a set this time.

    1. At least they will reserve better choices, hopefully, for CL MD4, as this set was made before Nations League games. They realized they can't do always everything together, that's good.

  17. I hope that we very soon will se a danish referere again on highest level, after Morten Kroghs debut in CL last season in young Boys - Man City, i hope to se him get more matches.
