So we have the final verdict about Pinheiro, our friend will be happy.
ReplyDeleteConference League for him: confirmation that the mistake they made had a certain importance, but not a disaster or anything for which a season should have ended. However, surely a disappointment.
Now the Portuguese with his countryman as VAR.
Jablonski gets Conference League after the terrible performance in the friendly England - Uruguay, this can be a rare case in which a performance for a rather unofficial game (I still consider friendlies in a certain way from my point of view) affected a bit the continuation of the season for a referee. It should have been something extraordinary in negative way, and indeed for me it was. But at same time, maybe nothing dramatic, Conference League instead of a possible Europa League quarterfinal.
The game for Eskas in Greece could be very challenging, but Spanish side seems rather safe for qualification at moment.
Having to make a prediction, a possible surprise for the Norwegian, I already wrote that yesterday, could be for him to jump directly in CL semifinal (not impossible), after this one.
In my opinion, if it will be to pick one between Nyberg and Eskas for a first leg UCL semifinal, the Swedish is more entitled to be chosen. I think Nyberg showed better performances long term, I'd go with him. Altough Eskas has more UCL games in the last 2 seasoms, Nyberg had the better ones. Eskas had quantity, Nyberg quality. The most important aspect, the Swedish performed better I think.
DeleteAlthough Jablonski didn't perform well in England, I don't see his appointment in Alkmaar as a punishment. As a newcomer to the elite group with two or three knockout matches under his belt, he shows he has earned the committee's trust.
DeleteAny confirmation on the referees for the U17/U19s finals tournament this year? Who should be considered?
ReplyDeleteI think that's not decided yet
DeleteConsidering Hernandez Hernandez selection as as world cup referee is it not very surprising that he has not been appointed to a game here
ReplyDeleteMuch bad blood in AZ vs. Shakhtar. Away team with time wasting tactic and now a very rough tackle by #74 AZ.
ReplyDelete35' YC to #74 AZ for reckless tackle, possible SFP
Deletehttps://streamff.link/v/110b0724
45+2' Missed reckless-SFP follow-through challenge by #17 SHK and YC #11 AZ for subsequent reckless challenge
https://streamff.link/v/c7d4f79d
Very challenging game, it seems.
DeleteFor me, in 35' RC possible for the force used by player without looking at othe criteria, one can describe this challenge as made with excessive force. Very dangerous, better red card for me than yellow card, but maybe not clear and obvious mistake.
To follow, I can accept YC in the missed incident ( follow-through challenge, hard to spot), then fully correct and mandatory YC if not more once again..
35' possible SFP yes but in my opinion this is a 7/10. Not even borderline, because the leg is bent.
Delete45+2' very interesting you are right. Under the new UEFA guidelines, play should continue IMO. However, it’s not easy and it hurts.
Otherwise, typical German approach. Very high technical accuracy and quite isolated impression (cards or authoritarian warnings, not working on having a nice rapport with players). Very alert impression, constantly working hard on preventing time wasting and being really successful in that area!
DeleteArda Turan, Shakhtar's coach, could've been easily sent off after his outburst in 69' and ultimately both coaches ended up being cautioned (AZ coach two minutes later).
The game could've easily become a nightmare (especially with a different score in the first game) but Jablonski did a very solid job overall!
Wow clear RC missed by Pinheiro, elbow in the head, clear violent conduct. Don’t know why VAR stay silent.
ReplyDeleteHow is this not a RC in Strasbourg ??
ReplyDeleteAgree, missed VAR intervention in Strasbourg-Mainz, elbow clearly used as a weapon.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't blame Pinheiro at all on this incident as it happened in the opposite side of the play and the foul-YC was very likely reported by AR1/FO.
Here the clip:
ReplyDeletehttps://streambug.org/cv/78957b
Intensity as argument by VAR to stay silent?
But, well...
OMG! Red
DeleteStonewall RC missed by VAR and Pinheiro. Completely out of standing to stay silent iMO.
DeleteRC for me
DeleteJust a detail, #MAI31 is known to play this "dirty". He is btw the player with the most YCs in the Bundesliga...
ReplyDeleteCorrect penalty to Fiorentina for careless kicking, well seen and reported by Porras.
ReplyDeleteSome missing alertness by Manzano (particularly vis player-player conflicts) in a first half which suddenly became quite passionate and challenging after a relaxing start; okay performance overall.
Delete63' - potential penalty to Fiorentina (charging)
Delete+91 - potential RC to Fio no91 for SFP tackle; yellow card given
Like the Bosnia-Austria match earlier this season, overall an adequate(-ish) level of refereeing by Gil Manzano but the 'X-Factor' and security in his calls seen in 2023 is very much missing from the Spaniard's refereeing. There was some tension, bordering on a conflict after the final whistle and truthfully that was a logical consequence of the way in which Manzano dealt with some late fouls in the last 10min of the match.
Correct penalty calls in Florence and Athens, I can't find clips at moment. In Florence I think called by AR2 to Gil Manzano (delayed whistle).
ReplyDeleteWhat a throw-inn before 1-0 AEK!!
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think before the goal Foul ? In APP N90
DeleteLate whistle, but correct penalty by Pinheiro.
ReplyDeleteCorrect penalty call: https://streambug.org/cv/9acbc7
DeleteQuite late…Perhaps advice by AR2 for a teamwork decision ?
DeleteEven when awarding a penalty, Pinheiro is hesitant. It's definitely not a perfect night for the Portuguese referee.
DeleteThere are times when, even if we are oblivious to everything, we cannot remain immune to so many absurdities written here regarding the Portuguese referee. Even when no one doubts the fairness of awarding an infraction, a negative comment always arises. Either because it was slow. Or because it was too fast. Or because he used the whistle with a shrill blow. Or...or...or.
DeleteIs it so difficult to understand that the contact occurs in the referee's dead zone, within the sphere of assistance of the assistant referee? And it is therefore justified that the referee obtains confirmation of the infraction from his assistant.
Pinheiro, while not my model referee, is an excellent referee who deserves more respect and consideration.
No way and excellent referee here…
Delete90’ : why on earth is so long for VAR Tiago Martins to check an inexistant punishable handball. As Pinheiro, very hesitant management here…
ReplyDeleteIn the end, the missed red card by VAR in Pinheiro game didn't influence final score and that's a good thing.
ReplyDeleteBut what a chaotic performance by both. For me - sorry Ahmed - definitively not a world cup level referee. Weird selection compare to Peljto…
DeleteCongratulations for joao for this good performance there was many tests but he passed
ReplyDeleteFantastic performance and it should truly guarantee him a European final later this season. I don't think he will get the WC final, but should be a lock for a semi?
DeleteNever a good one. Very hesitant on key decisions and clear RC missed at 19’. Penalty whistled very late. Missed RC with VAR at the end and furthermore NO AURA or CHARISMA on the pitch…
DeleteYou did see the game? You saw the foul of the potencial Red Card?
DeleteIts a VAR responsability.
Referee (Bad) analyst, you must slow down with your permanent atack to the portuguese referee.
We all agree it is VAR stuff and Pinheiro should not be held responsible given the positioning he had
DeleteI found him at expected level to be fair. Correct decisions + no real problem in a game that could have developed problematic
I don't like the way he connects with players, and the mimics he does, much wawing away, as a no-nonsense, but he does that with a smile which we don't know about.
I think he should work on that.
adrienref, what you points out in the last sentence is exactly what I observed in Pinheiro months ago, when he was still, let's say, in "development". Trying to make everything easy, maybe "too easy" with that body language, and then immediately running away. In my opinion shouldn't work in this way, he should have a more accurate way of handling players. It seems he just wants to go away after an incident.
DeleteExcelent analyse
DeleteFIOCRY
ReplyDelete27' Penalty awarded for careless kick, reported by AR2
https://streamff.link/v/f0db8903
63' PAI charging
https://streamff.link/v/30fab8b0
90+1' YC for reckless tackle, potential SFP
https://streamff.link/v/a1971273
Correct penalty, OK no penalty in 63', 90'+1 mandatory YC, possible RC but not VAR stuff.
DeletePenalty call by Eskas, very crucial in that moment of the game:
ReplyDeletehttps://streambug.org/cv/ad0688
I see the Norwegian as candidat for EL final.
Quick and confident decision, really good look for him.
