ReplyDeleteGood no penalty decision at 9’. Not sufficient contact for foul and penalty here..
ReplyDeleteVery good early YC!
ReplyDeleteFirstly he didnt want to show the card
DeleteSure seemed like it
DeleteCorrect YC call
ReplyDeleteOrange card IMO
ReplyDeleteCirrect yc maybe orage one if just litlle force red card
ReplyDeleteYC clearly given by Brisard
ReplyDeleteMaybe he saw something on the player sock or something like that don’t think Brisard will tell him that
DeleteHow is that challenge by COL11 at 12" much different than the challenge by Baloguen yesterday?
ReplyDeleteFor me the force differs and also no "scraping down" resulting in a buckle of the ankle
DeleteGood YC direclty on first minutes. We see the difference from Fischer leniency. Harsh foul. Agree with KaiserOrn concerning the difference between two decisions.
DeleteTo me it seems the intent to go into the ankle is stronger here.
DeleteIntent always hard to judge I feel, to me this is a lower level of possible SFP than both Balogun and Messi
DeleteThe result, the buckling of the ankle, is not always determinative of the the seriousness of the foul. Often that is pure luck, due to the angle and timing. A great example of this is the foul on Kone of Canada, where the seriousness of the foul was no where near the seriousness of other fouls by Qatar, but the results were catastrophic.
DeleteI do agree, Balogun definitely "unlucky" in some sense that the effect of his action was of such dangerous nature. I think it boils down to the concept of "being responsible for ones body" when making an attempt to gain possesson and consequentially the result is at times seemed more important than the percepted intention. I feel like this is the way that interpretations of SFP situations have headed last couple of years ever since VAR-introduction.

ReplyDeleteGood early YC, could be very tense game
ReplyDeleteYou see the difference from management and aura from Fischer to Turpin. Nothing against canadian referee but here we can see with the outstanding warning to Ayew that the French man is refereeing his 8th match on world cups. And it’s clear to see the gap.
ReplyDeleteJust 32' through and the French aura no though you are very right with the difference between the two officials .
DeleteSo far so good by the French crew nothing special
Also and I think it’s more a general thing but having links with players that you already have officiated in league or UCL is a big thing and that’s why imo European refs have an advantage.
DeleteTotally agree with that.
DeleteTense ending go 1st half, perhaps signs of what to come
ReplyDeleteAnyone understand why the Ghana player who received help from trainers did not step off the field before the restart? (45+1)
ReplyDeleteBecause of head care. Hernandez explained it to Colombia bench.
DeleteI thought the protocol followed since the beginning of the World Cup for head injury was still stepping off the field and waiting for the referee to beckon you on (without waiting the 1 minute new rule). Which one is the correct procedure for head injury?
DeleteMissed yc 45 +6
ReplyDelete+1
DeleteAgreed
DeleteNot mandatory. Bit should be one. But with the trend…

ReplyDeleteEasy first half for Turpin and co with a calm match except the early good YC. Nothing special to say with also a very good physical intervention by AR1 Danos to calm down players in front of the line. Very good communication and management by Turpin on few situations to warning some players dissenting and explain call (for example with James Rodriguez just before the end). Well done.
ReplyDeleteFairly easy game - but have to consider Turpin for the final ( if France doesn't make it )
ReplyDeleteVery clear Yc missed for Col25! Opponent cleared the ball and Col25 recklessly and forcefully lunges into him.
ReplyDeletePerfect example of a foul that Turpin had carded in European competitions…
DeleteShould have done it now, just as you expect other referees to do
DeleteCorrect YC easy detection
ReplyDeleteOffside call made by the SAOT audio alert imo, delay by AR2 to raise his flag
ReplyDeleteExcellent from AR to find the on field offside
ReplyDeleteBravo Turpin, finally some YC for dissent.
ReplyDeleteGreat to show other refs that you can do that.
+1
DeleteA YC for dissent WOW
ReplyDeleteExcept he blew the call for directions that caused the dissent.
ReplyDeleteI believe he actually called a foul against the Ghana player for kicking the opponent.
DeleteBut he gave a throw in
DeleteI won’t believe it until I see a clip
ReplyDeleteWhy does he point to the spot of the foul instead of the direction of the FK?
ReplyDeletehe did it here to tell that he came back on the advantage so show the first spot.
DeleteWhen I thought he missed YC,he showed it..
ReplyDeleteSo far,good from him.
2 correct YC
ReplyDeleteProbably best use of cards to keep game under control we have seen so far in the tournament.
ReplyDelete+11111
Delete+1 but never the feeling of YC for bad reasons he just gave it if it can generate frustration, great management.
DeleteMore likely the only one who uses cards to kepp game under control😆
DeleteAnd he also show to other refs than you still can use cards as a management tool.
DeleteNow IMO missed YC at min88. As a player you cant do that
ReplyDeleteNo card for this and just a FK is supportable imo, nothing crazy.
