    1. Maybe he saw something on the player sock or something like that don’t think Brisard will tell him that

  5. How is that challenge by COL11 at 12" much different than the challenge by Baloguen yesterday?

    1. For me the force differs and also no "scraping down" resulting in a buckle of the ankle

    2. Good YC direclty on first minutes. We see the difference from Fischer leniency. Harsh foul. Agree with KaiserOrn concerning the difference between two decisions.

    3. To me it seems the intent to go into the ankle is stronger here.

    4. Intent always hard to judge I feel, to me this is a lower level of possible SFP than both Balogun and Messi

    5. The result, the buckling of the ankle, is not always determinative of the the seriousness of the foul. Often that is pure luck, due to the angle and timing. A great example of this is the foul on Kone of Canada, where the seriousness of the foul was no where near the seriousness of other fouls by Qatar, but the results were catastrophic.

    6. I do agree, Balogun definitely "unlucky" in some sense that the effect of his action was of such dangerous nature. I think it boils down to the concept of "being responsible for ones body" when making an attempt to gain possesson and consequentially the result is at times seemed more important than the percepted intention. I feel like this is the way that interpretations of SFP situations have headed last couple of years ever since VAR-introduction.

  7. You see the difference from management and aura from Fischer to Turpin. Nothing against canadian referee but here we can see with the outstanding warning to Ayew that the French man is refereeing his 8th match on world cups. And it’s clear to see the gap.

    1. Just 32' through and the French aura no though you are very right with the difference between the two officials .
So far so good by the French crew nothing special

    2. Also and I think it’s more a general thing but having links with players that you already have officiated in league or UCL is a big thing and that’s why imo European refs have an advantage.

  8. Tense ending go 1st half, perhaps signs of what to come

  9. Anyone understand why the Ghana player who received help from trainers did not step off the field before the restart? (45+1)

    1. Because of head care. Hernandez explained it to Colombia bench.

  11. Easy first half for Turpin and co with a calm match except the early good YC. Nothing special to say with also a very good physical intervention by AR1 Danos to calm down players in front of the line. Very good communication and management by Turpin on few situations to warning some players dissenting and explain call (for example with James Rodriguez just before the end). Well done.

  12. Fairly easy game - but have to consider Turpin for the final ( if France doesn't make it )

  13. Very clear Yc missed for Col25! Opponent cleared the ball and Col25 recklessly and forcefully lunges into him.

    1. Perfect example of a foul that Turpin had carded in European competitions…
