Correct play on decision in 4‘. No penalty.
ReplyDeleteSupportable decision to play on, following a penalty appeal by Denmark.
ReplyDeleteEven preferable (I might be alone but like to use that term where situations might not be clear cut but is leaning one way or the other).
DeleteJust supportable? :)
Delete@DrMr because calling a penalty in that situation, in my opinion wouldn't have been a clear mistake.
Delete@Chefren hence "preferable". ;) "Supportable" has a little bit too much potential mistake built into it, IMO.
DeleteYou are right, "preferable" is a better term in such situation.
DeleteI like this term.
DeleteI must repeat, Ricci reminds me on Rizzoli.
ReplyDeleteRunning, gestures, body language... Italian style :)
Something like Skomina
I would like to hear Chefren's opinion, that's his 'area'
DeleteYou are right, DrMr, I have noticed that as well. The way he runs and he whistles fouls, same gestures.
DeleteHowever, maybe it is not a coincidence that he has some Italian descents, if I'm not wrong...
He speaks fluent Italian too :D
DeleteDidn't know that, thanks!
DeletePenalty appeal by France in 15‘. Although there was a contact with the attacker’s foot, nothing punishable for me - correct by VAR to support Ricci‘s decision.
ReplyDeletePenalty appeal in 23' for Denmark for holding/pushing
DeleteTwo more penalty appeals in 26‘ and 30‘ correctly rejected. Good performance so far with overall five rejected penalty appeals.
DeleteNow a missed free kick for France in 32‘ - YC was possible, too.
29', Denmark wanted a penalty. No VAR intervention.
ReplyDeleteAlready many penalty appeals for Ricci, however so far no mistakes.
IMO that could've been a penalty awarded!
DeleteNo penalty. But now in 30' Ricchi missed clear foul for France just in front of Denmark PK area.
DeleteFoul committed by whom? Defender or goalkeeper? I think play on is the right decision here as well as the previous three or four penalty appeals.
DeleteIf you mean what I think no foul at all. He just hit the ground and injured himself for the moment. Or do you mean s.th. else?
ReplyDeleteSince Peru scored the match changed its character to a friendly match with intensive engagement. So Ricci can let it flow...
ReplyDeleteOffside in 43', but not clear enough that the AR had to flag it I think. (That is, I think he was correct in applying a wait-and-let-VAR-see approach).
ReplyDeleteThat was miles offside!
Delete0.5 meter is miles to you? It was barely offside at the exact passing moment.
DeleteIt was also an attacker with high speed. Difficulty in offside situations like these is not measured in decimetres but in how many tenths of a second since the player was onside.)
Delete@Soham
DeleteIf 1 mile= 1cm, then it is
It was a big offside and the AR very clearly detected it too! So no problems!
DeleteWatch it again and pause at the momrnt of the pass and then comment again...
DeleteIt's tight offside, believe me ;)
Delete@victor Not that important for me so not giving your idea a consideration at this moment ;)
DeleteRicci should have let them have the free kick. Time was over because of the foul. He asks for them to dislike him by blowing the whistle there.
ReplyDeleteI noticed this trend across whole WC, to end the half/match regardless of a promising position, eg Gassama in PER-DEN.
DeleteWhat you wrote is spot on! I can't understand that much this instruction.
Ricci just made an enourmous mistake by blowing the half-time IMO.
ReplyDeleteEnourmous, really?
DeleteIn terms of football interest and refereeing intelligence, was an obvious and ununderstandable error. Yes.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteNo mark deduction, so not an enormous error!
DeleteIn those terms, I agree.
DeletePS Brych is famous for that :)
I mean in the management of his match
DeleteWhat a great refereeing ruined by this ridiculous half time whistle completely against spirit of game and justice ! This tackle was horrible in terms of fair play. Poor poor decision to stop half period in this kind of behavior : catastrophic message sent to football...
ReplyDeleteIf that's the biggest mistake, Sandro must be happy with his performance in the 1st half.
DeleteCheers!
I agree Dr Mr. but that’s sad for football to see that...
DeleteBiscotto?
ReplyDeleteWhat does this mean? :D
Deletewhen a match is fixed without money because it suits both sides of the contest, they call it a biscotto
DeleteOh I see, both teams will do with a draw so maybe yes :D
DeleteDenmark is safe now due to Peru's lead, so they could try to win the match and the group.
DeleteSince WC 1986 the final group games start at the same time. The reason for this is the infamous biscotto match West Germany - Austria 1982 (1-0), a result that sent both teams to the next round, while Algeria was eliminated.
DeleteStill no appointments for Thursday?
ReplyDeleteBe patient and wait :D
DeleteHow do you do that? :D
DeleteIn FIFA they know we are very curious of the latest appointments for MD3 and they test how patient we are ...
DeleteYou are relaxed I know because we are almost sure Skomina will appear in England v Belgium :D
Delete@Soham, oh no, on contrary I'm nervous to found out if your prediction holds true 😃.. but they just don't want to post those d**n appointments and keep us waiting 😒..
DeleteMay be some appointment depends on the outcome of structure of 1/8-final? Hope we don't have to wait til 10a.m.
DeleteYou won't know all Round of 16 teams today anyway!
DeleteIf I remember correctly it was on Sunday when the appointments were announced around 6 p.m. (after the afternoon match ended) ..
DeleteI'm predicting an announcement around 8 p.m. Moscow time!
DeleteBut Soham; you did not get my irony?😎
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteI got it @Andrasch :D Maybe you wanted to 10 p.m. instead of 10 a.m.?
Delete@Andreja My final prediction is announcement around 8 p.m. time in Moscow with Skomina, Conger, Sikazwe and Mazic the chosen officials!
This way of ending 1st half without ecec.of freekick after promising counter attack Griezmann stopped by tactical foul shows , sorry, IMO... a lack of instinct and understanding of fairplay.
ReplyDeleteAgree. Regrettable.
DeleteYou have Santa Coloma (AND) vs Drita FC (KOS) of UCL Preliminary Round if you want.
ReplyDeleteNo, thank you :D
DeleteI'm watching it, no crowd at all, verbal abuse from trainer in Spanish towards the referee is quite audible.
DeleteWow... Referee is from which country?
DeleteReferee is Paul McLaughlin, from Ireland.
DeleteHe should stamp his authority on the match!
DeleteWhy would anyone watch two amateur teams in the middle of the world cup :D
DeleteI bet it was more interesting then Denmark-France
DeleteI am watching Australia Peru
DeleteConsidering the actual quality of the teams involved, this has got to be the most boring and drab game of this tournament till now!
ReplyDeleteMany players "under expectation"...
DeleteIndeed, this match is one of the most boring games at the WC so far. It will be a calm day for Ricci and he can expect to get a match in R16 or a QF.
DeleteI think Ricci should be saved for QF!
DeleteMissed YC after airbattle - ellbow ag.head of Stryger-Larsen 65.min
ReplyDeleteNo need for both teams to look for a goal... so 0-0 seems to be already written. I had exactly thought this final score when I noticed that Denmark needed only a draw to qualify in any case.
ReplyDeleteRicci will officiate for sure in KO stage, he can be supported in all penalty incidents today. But most important, nothing will care about this game. A referee must be also lucky...
Ricci whistling and smiling after 2 Danish players run into each others. Audience whistling, too. That says all.
ReplyDelete85' good no PK decision
ReplyDeleteSimulation Giroud in DEN box. No YC because short holding by Kjaer before. Ok.
ReplyDelete😴😴😴
ReplyDeleteI fell asleep too... Just woke up :D
Delete... by the hurray of Croatian fans about the next opponent?
DeleteProbably :D
DeleteThe whole of Luzhniki Stadium is vehemently booing both the teams and understandably so!
ReplyDeleteRicci directly in a quarterfinal? Interesting option.
ReplyDeleteAnd there's our dire 0-0.
ReplyDeleteGerman commentator is wondering who will be the man of the match - tough decision for FIFA. 😂
ReplyDeleteWe are throgh it. Good question in German TV:
ReplyDeleteWho in hell will be the Player Of The Match here ?????
I vote for Stryger-Larsen. Injured and fouled several times and still doing his job. Or Lukas Lerager/DEN who came in after 92 minites. Noone made less mistakes!
Worst game of the tournament. Even worse than Uruguay vs Saudi-Arabia. So much about smaller teams making the tournament boring.
ReplyDeleteRicci missed a YC for Nzonzi for ellbow use in an aerial duell. Apart from that, he had several penalty appeals, all decisions were acceptable.
