My prediction for the final: Ekberg (SWE)
ReplyDeleteEkberg and Treimanis fourth officials, this should exclude them from the final appointment, if you ask me. I think the Serbian is a big candidate after these choices for semifinals.
ReplyDeleteIf Jovanovic is referee for the final, I expect István Kovács as 4 official (he had the same duty in the previous matches when Jovanovic was the ref).
DeleteMaybe Bobby Madden as second option with English VARs.
If Madden or Kovács get the final, then Jovanovic for the
Delete4th Official
Kovacs is out
DeleteAnd of course, István Kovács's appointment depends on Romania's progress to the final.
DeleteSorry for triple post, Chefren, you are free to merge them into one, if there is an option.
Roberto Rosetti will observe Grinfeld.
ReplyDeleteOh, I expected Treimanis to get a KO stage match. :D
ReplyDeleteSo, I'd say Jovanović (and Madden 4th official) for Final.
I'm wondering why nobody mentioned Alexey Kubalkov. He was promoted to Elite about one week ago. For me, he should get the final after his great performances during the season. He did really well, IMO he's the top candidate for the final. Jovanovic could be 4th official, video assisstants from England maybe, therefore we have to wait which Teams reach the final.
ReplyDeleteAfter his mistake in last matchday?
DeleteKulbakov is out, thats sure.
DeleteI agree with you, Lucas Jerlich. But only if we forget his last performance, which is impossible.
DeleteIn a tournament format. For referee's. You're only as good as your last performance.
DeleteIMO Jovanovic for final, definitely, based on his preformance on this tournament.
ReplyDeleteOT: Regions' Cup Final
ReplyDeleteBavaria - Dolny Slask:
Sebastian Coltescu (ROU), Senad Ibrisimbegovic (BIH), Namik Huseynov (AZE), Georgi Vadachkoria (GEO)
So a final after his demotion...
Coltescu whistled 5 penalties in today's final match.
DeleteTwo games with the same team for Kabakov, for me it's strange. He had France monday and again France thursday. Also, Jovanovic for the final or maybe a surprise by Rosetti.
ReplyDeleteSwapping the matches wouldn't have solved that problem: He also had Romania on Monday.
DeleteGermany - Romania at 18:00 CET will be played with a temperature close to 39°C.
ReplyDeleteCooling break already after 16 minutes played. Very rare but understandable. So, looks like there will be 4 cooling breaks.
ReplyDeleteBologna is an oven today, like al North of Italy. Is a torture playing at this time today
DeleteCrystal clear penalty for Romania awarded after VAR, looked like Grinfeld missed it initially?
ReplyDeleteCorrect penalty to Germany by Grinfeld.
ReplyDeleteGrinfeld missed some relatively clear fouls, including penalty, in the first half. I believe he tried to allow a little bit harder play in a semi but it didn't suit him.
ReplyDeleteFar better second half including a) well spotted holding and the place where occured (penalty) and b) boldly and correctly assessed incident regarding DOGSO-holding outside the box (although play continued for a moment, defender's action did impede the attacker and was rightly punished with FK and RC).
Again, a very firm, no-nonsense approach what contributed to nice, watchable game in those extreme weather conditions.
The Israeli could be very content with how he handled all his games. I also think he will be seriously considered for promotion to Elite by the RefCom now and I sincerely hope he can do that last step already in December, although the committee could be more restrained after 'Kulbakou case'.
What a penalty missed by Kabakov and Pinheiro...
ReplyDeleteAnd now a soft penalty for France.
ReplyDeleteThe hand is useless that high
DeleteSorry George but this penalty isn’t soft but clear (obvious push on shoulder). But big issue before. Totally agrée with you with Ununderstandable decision from Pinheiro to call Kabakov after this cristal hand. Big mistake by VAR but not from bulgarian ref with very difficult sitiatuon to assess.
DeleteI say soft because the gesture the referee made to justify the YC did not happen: the player put his arm but did not push with it. The attacker fell as soon as he noticed the contact. I did not say incorrect. Soft for me.
DeleteThe previous mistake is clearly a VAR mistake, but a very severe one.
Do sm know why Kabakov is with pink socks?
ReplyDeleteHonestly I don't get why Kabakov advanced for KO stage. IMO Ekberg would be the best option instead of Kabakov. Treimanis the next best.
ReplyDelete25´ : foul from spanish player deserved RC for me. Violent conduct or Serious foul play. Again no VAR check. Pinheiro is sleeping ?
ReplyDeleteAgainst Guendouzi? Looked it just as hard rugby tackle, the ball was between them.
DeleteKabakov seems to say that for him the arm was sticked to the body...and absolutely no.
ReplyDeleteNo matter how clean or not the situations are, it looks like VAR's room is empty.
ReplyDeleteGuys, did you see a foul from this 2-1 penalty ? I saw lot of replays and seemed to be cristal simulation...Your thoughts ?
DeleteI don't know, but I could give the penalty only for the touch, the hand is useless there.
DeleteAnother penalty, this time for Spain. It seems the defender hit the attacker, but the fall looked very unnatural in the replay.
ReplyDeleteFull sentence: "It seems the defender hit the attacker when running for the ball". It is not that clear, however.
Delete45+4'
ReplyDeletePK for Spain. At first replay looked like a dive but it seems that the contact was previous to the challenge for the ball. VAR confirmed the decision and Frenchmen didn't complain.
Challenging match for Kabakov.
Also, Frenchmen are making too many challenges on Oyarzábal's ankle. But unfortunately, persistent infringement of a team as a whole is not punishable. They should reform LOTG to make punishable persistent infringement on a single opponent player hahahaha.
DeleteOyarzábal had to be substituted due to an ankle injury in MD3 against Poland.
They keep doing so and the referee does not stop it.
DeleteComplicating factor for Kabakov is the fact that Oyarzabal exaggerates each and every contact big time...
DeleteOyarzabal himself by the way escaped a mandatory sanction in the beginning!

Wow this could even be red in my opinion. This tackle was nowhere near the ball. I can‘t understand how no card was given here!
DeleteThat’s absolutely a straight RC for me. Nowhere near the ball, sole intent on hurting the opponent badly
