I want to thank Dr Emu a very powerful spell caster who help me to bring my husband back to me, few month ago i have a serious problem with my husband, to the extend that he left the house, and he started dating another woman and he stayed with the woman, i tried all i can to bring him back, but all my effort was useless until the day my friend came to my house and i told her every thing that had happened between me and my husband, then she told me of a powerful spell caster who help her when she was in the same problem I then contact Dr Emu and told him every thing and he told me not to worry my self again that my husband will come back to me after he has cast a spell on him, i thought it was a joke, after he had finish casting the spell, he told me that he had just finish casting the spell, to my greatest surprise within 48 hours, my husband really came back begging me to forgive him, if you need his help you can contact him with via email: Emutemple@gmail.com or add him up on his whatsapp +2347012841542 is willing to help any body that need his help.

Does the Düsseldorf player 'push up' his opponent's arm to strike his own face? Even on frame-by-frame I'm finding it hard to tell. If the striking offence was engineered by the Hoffenheim player by himself, then a correct call.

    3. Impossible to say, indeed. I hope that VAR checked carefully that.

    4. Regarding the VAR intervention later in the game, for disallowing 2-1, I'm not convinced that this was VAR stuff.

    5. The VC decision is wrong IMO due to the reason, you mentioned. Should have been at least an OFR.
The goal was correctly disallowed, but yes, one can discuss, whether it fulfilled the very high DFB threshold of "clear and obvious".

  6. My curiosity got the better of me, so I watched the controversial Croatian Cup Semifinal that was discussed on the blog; my report:

HNK Rijeka – NK Osijek, Igor Pajč [VAR: Fran Jović]

    Relevant / Key Match Incidents:

4’ Serious Foul Play by Osijek no.4? No foul given
    32’ Management?
56’ Second Yellow Card (reckless) given, Osijek no.5
70’ Penalty (striking) given + Yellow Card (reckless) to Osijek no.18; Yellow Card (dissent) to Osijek no.7; management?
79’ Yellow Card (SPA/Reckless?) to Rijeka no.5; Yellow Card to Osijek coach (entering the field of play), violation of the LotG
90’ Foul (holding) by Osijek no.7 given, (prevention?); Serious Foul Play by Rijeka no.6? Yellow Card given; Violent Conduct (striking) by Osijek no.2? Yellow Card given; Mass confrontation – more sanctions needed?
+91’ Violent Conduct (kicking) by Osijek no.33? Yellow Card given
+92’ Violent Conduct (striking) by Rijeka no.31? Yellow Card given

(Further interesting incidents: correct play on at 7’ from a penalty appeal (handling); potential Violent Conduct at 76’, no sanction; did a dissenting Osijek team member enter the FoP at 87’?)

    VAR Interventions:

Overall: before 70’ it was a satisfactory-level performance with some points for improvement, where the referee looked ‘rusty’ after a long time out and a bit nervous; after 70’ the referee totally lost control of the game and his decisions.

If anyone is interested in a more rigorous analysis, let me know :)

    2. 6,9 maximum, I would go even lower personally. Especially 79' - that's absolutely unacceptable.

    3. IMO he was never in control of the match, already from the beginning.
At the fourth minute, I think this tackle should have been a red card with no doubts, and not simply a free-kick (no sanction was given!), late tackle, high intensity, studs above ankle!!

Unacceptable behavior of the coach, which should have been cautioned more heavily.

Penalty at 70' really difficult to accept referee's decision honestly..

He gave 2 corrects yellow card at the end (+91, +92), but too late where it was no more useful and effective.

    4. And I was already thinking how come moderators didnt say anything about this game hahaha...

I don't know if there is a need for further analysis, but these situations also open up another topic, and that is sanctions for referees. + in this case croatian comitee IMO took very rigid stance considering VAR interventions, which resulted in 9 matches suspension even for VAR referee (although they listened to the recording of the communication which we of course dont have access to, which gives them some weight). And also 1st assistant got 4 rounds suspension (do you have a clue why, based on the game?).

Also i am sure that if there wasnt a long break, things would have been much better, because of several reasons. And this is why I am asking myself what will be for example with top refs from France and some other leagues (to me close is Bosnia and Peljto also with cancelled championship). Do you think there will be more mistakes in qualifications for european competitions, which will have only ONE game?

  10. Regarding Treimanis' middle finger incident which I talked about in this comment

I have combined the two videos into one that I have published on my YouTube channel here. I have also added English subtitles to it (remember to turn them on), so that you can understand what Treimanis is saying. The offender's club (RFS) apologized on Facebook (in Latvian, on 30 May) for what their player did. A translation of the post: RFS football club apology. The football club RFS would like to apologize on behalf of itself and the club player when an inappropriate gesture was shown to the opposing player in the agitation of the game's emotions, for which the game referee showed a reasonable red card. We really want to apologize to the match referee A. Treimanis, who now has absolutely unjustifiably and undeservedly received negations about what he did in response to the player's question and insistence on the explanation of the reason for the penalty (he clearly pointed out to the player, thus showing that it has been noticed and accordingly the reason for the penalty for which the player is sent off). Please do not speculate and do not continue to distribute biasedly offensive photos and videos with an incomplete depiction of this episode, which absolutely does not describe the specific situation as a whole, as well as undeservedly damages the image of the highly respected high-level professional referee Andris Treimanis!'

BTW, the Latvian Higher League has, of course, also chosen to allow 5 instead of 3 subsitutions for each team in every match in this season. The emergency situation in Latvia ends tomorrow, and the league is expected to start on 15 June.

    1. Quite obvious and therefore credible, that he only wanted to explain the decision.
Missing RC for the player of the other team for offensive language (I heard something with "puta" and assume that was not Latvian...)?

      Delete
    2. Of course, but unfortunately many fans (and not only) often don't find such things obvious.
I find it hard to hear what the player is saying. He is from Brazil, so, if he said 'puta', that was swearing in portuguese (there are nearly no words in Latvian that contain such a combination of letters). Treimanis probably didn't hear it, and, if he had, maybe he wouldn't have understood it.

      Delete
    3. Haha funny situation, although nothing is so controversial in the end. Only for example if there is a violent conduct or false language, I dont think that the referee should repeat that to explain :)

Very easy penalty for Hamburg at 0-1 score, totally incorekt penalty for Hamburg at 2-1 (lucky that VAR said him no foul man), then 2-1 invented freekick for Kiel in dangers position, Kiel almost score.

Many bad decisions , is he beginner ref?

  12. Some interesting moments from last two rounds of Belarusian league from videos relaesed by ABFF.
    11th round:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHGVSkCW594&t

1:03 (Belshina vs Slavia-Mozyr, ref. Sergey Krasnikov, AR1 Aleksei Yatskevich) The goal is correctly dissallowed, because it was scored by hand, and also correct YC is shown, even despite the fact, that he was offside.
2:38 (Gorodeya vs Neman, ref. Aleksei Kulbakov) Really interesting moment, rather incorrect desicion to send off the goalkeeper, ball goes far from attacker and closer to his opponent, so YC should've been shown. We could also note, that ball touches keeper's arm out of the penalty area, but arm is in natural position.

5:06 (Gorodeya vs Neman, ref. Aleksei Kulbakov, AR1 Dmitri Zhuk) Soft penalty (IMO even incorrect), slight push in a back, it was said, that AR1 Zhuk was in better position to see this incident, so he cooperated with Kulbakov, btw supported by Refereeing Department.

6:58 (RCOR BSU vs Vitebsk, ref. Andrei Vasilevich) RC for SFP, bad tackle, according to Refereeing Department YC was correct desicion here, becouse of the fact, that the ball was touched first, and low intensity, but IMO we could find arguments in favour of RC too.

9:03 the same match,outside/inside penalty area incident, wrong desicion; moment, which would be easily solved with VAR.

10:00 (BATE vs Isloch, ref. Denis Scherbakov) Careless foul, correct penalty desision according to Refereeing Department.

10:46 (Rukh vs Dynamo-Brest, ref. Sergei Tsynkevich) Clear penalty, the arm is in unnatural position.

    12th round:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAU36NwrqM4&t

1:41 (Vitebsk - BATE, Amin Kurgheli, AR2 Viktor Getikov) Cooperation between referee and AR2 was needed, difficult moment, we can't be sure, there is a touch.

2:50 the same match, clear mistake by Kourgheli, the shot is blocked with outstreched arm, penalty + 2nd YC not given.

3:58 (Dynamo-Brest vs Minsk, ref. Sergei Krasnikov, AR1 Yuri Khomchenko) Goal should've been disallowed, the attacker interferes, even if there is no touch, mistake by AR1.

5:11 (Slavia-Mozyr vs Neman, ref. Denis Scherbakov, AR1 Anton Gusev) Brilliant onside desision by AR1 Gusev.

5:56 (Isloch vs Rukh, ref. Viktor Shimusik, AR1 Aleksei Voiteshonok) Difficult to say, is the ball crosses the line, rather no, then yes, so correct desision.

After CTA-RFEF practised in the last few days Covid-19 tests to all LaLiga referees and ARs, one of them (whose name hasn't been revealed) has tested positive, therefore he must face a 15 days long quarantine and won't be able to return to its refereeing duties until 2 consecutive negative tests.

As it's mentioned in comments above, César Noval Font (Martínez Munuera's regular AR2, non-FIFA) won't return to refereeing until next season in order to commit to his 'other' highly infection rate job (he's a highly reputated plastic surgeon)

    1. With the arm in that position, penalty should be whistled in all cases unless a deliberate play by the same defender before the touch by arm but this was not the case. Even in case of previous touch of the ball by attacker, this handball must be whistled. But I think tat everything here is about the real touch, after all replays I'm not still 100% sure it happened with open arm. One should just analyze that, about the rest, no doubt, it would be always penalty for the reasons I explained.

    3. I'm okay with all decisions, maybe except 87', I think it's more like a missed 2nd YC for reckless arm offence than just a foul.

      Delete
    4. Basically, most actions are 'underpunished' in my view. Except for 7', which is a brilliant tackle fitting such a brilliant but heated derby as this one. I understand that the referee doesn't want to 'ruin' the match early on, but still, why is so much accepted from players misbehaving? Referees nowadays feel way too responsible to keep everyone on the pitch. That's the players' responsibility mainly.

7' Great tackle, correct to award the corner kick
12' For me YC, we've even seen RC given in similar situations. He hits the opponent with his studs on the thigh, dangerous play and reckless. Don't see how you would deny that. Having said this, it doesn't 'help' that no player or coach really reacts after the foul, which is remarkable, especially in Belgrade (;-)). Not that the reaction has a direct link to the sanction, but somehow it turned out to be the 'sensible' option not to book the player.
28' The foul itself is just a YC, no SFP. CZ 5 doesn't stretch his legs and barely hits the opponent. What I don't understand is why we as referees accept the dissent after such a foul (see 85' too). CZ 5 stops a promising counter attack be throwing himself in the challenge with high speed and pretty high intensity, that is a YC all day every day. Why is he yelling at the ref? Be a man, and accept the punishment for your action. CZ 5 is also one of the most experienced players on that team, he should know better, and the brave decision would be to hold him accountable for his actions. So 2nd YC for the dissent would have been the best decision for me.
36' Correct YC for CZ 77, but why was P 16 booked? Seems logical in these mass confrontations, but what does he actually do? He was in his right to quickly execute the throw-in, wasn't he? After that he remains fairly calm following the push by CZ 77. Surely he reacts, but why wouldn't he?
44' Okay with the YC. But does the GK really attempt to play the ball and is he just slow, or was his real intent to stop the attacker no matter what. Was there intent to play the ball? I would lean towards yes, so YC is ok.
85' Straight red for me, and I'm having trouble with the reaction of the player, just like 28'. Maybe I'm too sensitive in these kind of situations, but dismissing such a foul by the player... it actually disgusts me. The Partizan-player knows he comes in with a high-intensity scissor tackle hitting the opponent on the ankle/Achilles tendon, but acts as if nothing happened. Would he be ok to be hit like that by an opponent himself? Sometimes I really don't understand football players.
87' I really prefer a YC (2nd here). Quite some force in his jump and the use of his arm. He hits the opponent in the face, so enough to warrant a YC.

I must acknowledge that, having visited the Eternal Derby last year myself, these aren't easy matches to referee. So, maybe I'm too critical on Simovic here. Haven't seen this match, but last year's CZ - Par was an incredibly bad football match (very little actual football happened), but with a lot of rough play, a very heated atmosphere from the stands and coaches that (especially the Partizan one) made Diego Simeone look like a perfect son-in-law.

      1) 'Undestandable' YC on expectation/perception/recognition level, excellent VAR intervention and correct RC for SFP, critical hitting point and force.

      2) Correct PK+YC call in the last minute.

      3) Supportable no foul before, but I'm not sure it was reckless challenge at all.

    1. To add, Rizzoli has changed the appointments after the forced break for Coronavirus. Originally, Rocchi was planned for Juventus - Milan while Doveri for Napoli - Inter. I think that now the latter is nr. 1 candidate for the final, to be played in Rome (and indeed he is from Rome). This change was very likely made because there are only a few days between the semifinals and the final, so a safe option for the final should have been kept. With Napoli in final, due to some reasons, the choice of referees wouldn't be so large, otherwise, in case of elimination of Napoli, I think we should add Guida as candidate for this game. He would deserve that as well.
But as for now I would say Doveri will be in charge of final.

With Inter in final, maybe possible, but I think rather he wont be there as main referee.

      Delete
    4. Nope. CTA-RFEF is 'seeking' to abolish age limits, but they didn't abolish it yet, they are probably doing it for the next season.

José Luis González González will retire at the end of this season and one more referee will be demoted to become specific VAR (competition to avoid relegation is probably between González Fuertes, Prieto Iglesias and Melero López)

Second division restarted yesterday and unlike lower divisions, it will go ahead. My early candidates for promotion are the following, considering that there will probably be two promotion places available:

-Isidro Díaz de Mera Escuderos (1989)
      -Aitor Gorostegui Fernández-Ortega (1983)
      -Rubén Ávalos Barrera (1987)
      -Víctor Areces Franco (1985)

Iñaki Vicandi Garrido (1986) was promoted to LaLiga in 2014 as a future FIFA referee (he even appeared at the cover photo of UEFA CORE program along with Pedersen and Elleray) but after no visible progression and a catastrophic 3rd season, he was demoted back to 2nd Division. He's still 'young' and I can see him returning to LaLiga in the short-mid term, but he definitely missed the UEFA train.

    5. Good to see Jarred might get his chance. I and the whole refereeing community here in Australia will be watching to see if he gets any games.

  29. Harsh penalty decision for Sevilla by Antonio Mateu Lahoz + YC for Betis defender.

But the call is still supportable so correct no VAR intervrntion.

    1. Video: https://streamable.com/ixm3z4. IMO incorrect decision, maybe even a clear and obvious error.

    2. Correct and brave PK decision. If the offender had been De Jong, every referee would call defensive foul.

I'm not sure about the YC though, there's no reckless elbow for me, rather careless. Unless it's for dissent...

    3. No penalty for me, maybe even VAR material, but it depends on what Mateu said about the situation.
      1) it was the hand on the neck/back and not a punch in the head, as player wanted to show, and no elbow

2)The context of the contact was fighting for the ball, this is very important. The defender was in better position, he did not do an alleged foul to stop the attacker but to win the better position to get to the ball.

3)the itensity wasnt too small, but it doesnt look too hard to me, let alone violent

    4. I don't necessarily disagree with the penalty decision but I'm almost certain that a foul like this would never be called in England.

    5. The contact justifies NO VAR intervention, but this is more mistake than penalty. Very, very soft call. In case Mateu had rewatched it, he would have annulled the call. However VAR was right in supporting referee.

    6. TBH, that's a clear penalty for me. Bartra jumps over De Jong with the arm, which furthermore lands on his neck. It'd have been a foul anywhere else, it is a foul inside the penalty area.

I already said this here sometime ago: you can't put a higher bar for the use of the arms inside the box than you do outside. That argument is valid for holding (it is not the same to be running at full speed than being still) or charging for the same reason, but jumping on an opponent is usually in a still position and doesn't change depending on where that happens.
