  1. Remarkable, that Turpin and Dabanovic get a second game.

On the other hand, no game for Makkelie, Kabakov, Krogh and Lambrechts.

    1. Krogh first game i danish superliga this year was cancelled sunday. Due to the condition on the pitch.. Could that Mean something that the danish league first started last weekend??

    2. Makkelie probably injured or a failed UEFA fitness test.

It also explains why he looked a bit sloppy in 2025.

    3. Can't imagine Makkelie being injured or failed a fitnesstest, because in our competition he is also not allowed to referee iff he fails a test....and he recently refereed Ajax-Feyenoord, and is also sceduled for next weekend...

  2. I am surprised by Dabanovic appointment. So Rosetti liked his performance in Istanbul.

  3. Do you think that Turpin in Cyprus' derby is a replacement ? Strange to me to be appointed here after an excellent City-Real

  4. It was discussed a few days ago that how great time the French referees are having. I start to believe that the success of Turpin and Letexier have a "pull" power for other referees and they just also raise their level by having such great referees around. Remarkable to see all Turpin, Letexier, Bastian and Brisard appointed this week.

Fun note: Turpin did not hand out a single YC or RC in his last two international appearances. (Aston Villa - Celtic and Manchester City - Real Madrid) I highly doubt it that this trend will continue now :-)
I think his appointment is totally justified, this can be a very hot game, however bit strange observer pairing.

    1. Not surprised cause Turpin is in question in terms of YC's,one of the more lenient refs that can manage control.

  5. Why does UEFA appoint a delegat from Russia?!

    1. I made some research, it seems she joined the Serbian federation, but indeed one should wonder how much this can change her citizenship. I really don't understand how long it can last this situation involving Russian people. To be honest, now we are at a certain point in which important questions should be made.

  6. OLIMPIJA LJUBLJANA (SVN) - BORAC BANJA LUKA (BIH)
OFR in the early minutes by the full Lithuanian crew.
Is that a a clear and obvious mistake?

    1. Not enough for OFR..
In first half the referee doesn’t have authority. He missed some easy fouls (even in 1st min.)

    2. Never a penalty. Much more simulation in an attempt to dupe the ref. Unfortunately, the player got what he wished for. The ref should have rejected VAR's advice and brandished the YC towards the "actor".

  7. Correct penalty by Dabanovic in Heidenheim after OFR

I think that it was possible to whistle this penalty live, maybe not very easy, but possible.

  8. Now a borderline SPA/DOGSO for Dabanovic, think yellow is acceptable, both decisions would've been no VAR stuff for me

  9. Sanctions coming for Olimpija and Borac game 13 minutes added on for apparent crowd disturbance

  10. Wow,brutal tackle in Apoel vs Celje,Beaton issues only YC.

Imo very clear RC,open foot to the stomach or chest area,VAR could(should)have overuled that decision.

  11. Scottish VAR never getting involved there. TV replays played in slow motion which makes it look 100% worse and the foot actually glances rather than plants into the stomach.

    1. Nevertheless if RC issued no VAR intervention would be expected

  12. Wow. Looked like a penalty not whistled at Shamrock Rovers. Amazed that VAR didn’t ask for an OFR.

  13. Good game for Dabanovic tonight. Correct yellow cards issued, excellent physical, full game control through all game. Situation about penalty, 99 percent of Uefa referees would not call penalty there immediately, excellent team work and using Var. Expect to see him once more in UECL.

  14. Molde reduced to 10 men. 2nd YC and correct by the Greek referee. Game now in ET.

  15. Martin Hansson won't have been given a good reception in Tallaght. He was the referee who missed the infamous Henry handball which cost Ireland a place at South Africa 2010, which is still regularlu talked about it Ireland!

  16. Two incidents from Sidiropoulos game:

Penalty area incident (I think this was the situation reported by Fraha above)
    https://streambug.org/cv/12db28
The expected outcome of the action would have been GOAL, solving everything, but NO GOAL gives troubles by Greek crew. According to what I could seee recently, such penalties (contact by keeper on attacker, after having kicked ball) are always given recently, while in past they were more discussed. It is possible in this case VAR made the assessment that it was rather accidental or normal collision, with attacker following his path as well, but we saw always whistled penalties in such situations. Sidiropoulos could have given it, I think once you see that goal is not scored and the late intervention by keeper, you can whistle. He was hesitating, waiting for VAR, but if he wanted to give penalty, it wasn't difficult read to make from the pitch.

    Second YC

In this case correct decision, very evident holding by opponent, also LoR.

  17. Reckless v SFP challenge from Beaton. Not full contact could be argument against red card but for me this pretty clear red card. High foot, straight leg....surely dangerous?

    1. Not full contact indeed is only reason for no red card, but I don't think the Scottish referee saw exactly and took the decision he wanted, I think that rewatching it, he would have issued RC.
We are at the very border, but YC can be assessed as field mistake by committee, I think, regardless of VAR possible involvement. Too much dangerous challenge.
