  1. If barrott does well could we see a quick promotion after his performance in the youth league?

    2. On PGMOL's instagram they only mention Heaslip for the women's but mention both Barrott and Smith for the men's. So maybe AR Ball isn't doing the tournament.

    3. Indeed there are some changes.

    4. The opening game of the tournament (BIHGER) is handled by Michaela Pachtová (CZE), who wasn't on the initial list.

    5. We have two assistant referees not listed before:
      Ana Ciobotaru MDA
      Angela Domazetovska MKD

English AR Georgia Ball not called.
Maybe the CONMEBOL duo didn't attend?

And so Pachtová added as main referee. We will see with next appointments.

    6. Can you tell me when the information about referees in the first rounds of the European Cup season 26/27 will appear on the website? The games will start on July 7th.

  3. Christian Gittelmann (GER) being appointed to this European Championship surprises me. Someone with so much international experience, including a Euro 2020 Final as an Offside VAR... I think it’s a poor appointment, especially when, for example, Wade Smith only joined the international list in January and is already appointed.

  7. Following Stephanie Frappart's recent announcement of her retirement to take up a role with UEFA, Elite referee Benoit Bastien has also officially retired to become the Director of Professional Refereeing. France is now left with only two referees officiating at the highest level for FIFA and UEFA: Clement Turpin and Francois Letexier. This news was reported by Media Arbitrage across social media platforms. Willy Delajod is considered a potential candidate for Elite status in the future.

  8. Barrott gave 3 penalties in his first game.

    1. 2nd and 3rd were very clear and well spotted. Most interesting was probably the 1st one for pushing. Only clip I found:

      maybe someone has better clip

    2. I guess it was not given for pushing actually, looks like a contact between legs.

    1. Second and third decisions are correct, while I agree with the last statement by TC021002 about the first call, for me not a 100% simulation, but referee shouldn't have whistled penalty. Not enough to justify such a fall. One can understand why referee whistled penalty, not a big mistake for me. Very challenging game, it seems.

  10. Was at the Denmark/Germany game in person. Thought Barrott did well overall throughout the game. Watching it live the first penalty seemed 50/50 and the other two very obvious. Watching it back don't think the first was a complete dive as the Denmark defenders arm moves towards him as they're running but he goes down very easily so it could have easily not been given.

  11. PAI Croatia vs Ukraine - 21’

    https://files.fm/u/zsxg9c4wzk

Quite complicated situation in which Stojčevski had to evaluate a possible handball (in DOGSO scenario) by the Ukrainian goalkeeper followed by a defensive tackle.
I think correct to play on after the goalkeeper apparently touched the ball with the hand, but only after it hit the chest. Difficult to see though.
The defensive tackle IMHO is a fair tackle, where the ball was played. The only argument pro penalty could be that after playing the ball (inevitably) the leg bounced upwards tripping the attacker.

    1. Extremely difficult situation, maybe even impossible due to the sequence of events, with a focus on goalkeeper possible foul, the North Macedonian referee had immediately to change his mind to assess the tackle by defender. I think one can't blame him. Yes, you can assess it as very strong but fair tackle on the ball, but it's really hard, from the pitch if not penalty in the first situation (keeper), a referee would tend to whistle for the second one (we must look at reality, without VAR...).

  12. The other observers at tournament are Sant, Hansson and Elleray.

  13. What’s the problem in the Netherlands and why are Kooij and VD Eijk constantly being selected for youth tournaments instead of Marc Nagtegaal?
In my opinion, the latter is the referee with the most elite potential. I thought Björn Kuipers is UEFA’s chief “youth competitions”. What’s going on?

  16. Just realized, that Badstübner is there although Germany is playing. Quite unusual in those small tournaments, because it restricts appointment possibilities.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Agreed and now MD 3 group A referees have been announced, Badstübner gets group B again
    Östling also gets group A
Surely this could have easily been avoided?
    Group A appointments
