    Andris Treimanis in O. Lyonnais - Shakhtar Donetsk.

    Not a difficult game for the Latvian at his debut in CL group stage. The match was played behind close doors and also for this reason the atmosphere was quite soft. Both teams were focused on football, there was a certain number of fouls (27), but mostly honest challenges.
    In this context, the decision of issuing ony one YC is consistent.
    However, there was another situation in which a card could have been shown, but maybe referee had not the exact perception of the incident (28'). In second half, AAR1 cooperated with referee in detecting a clean tackle on the ball (65'). Good alertness until the end of the game, with additional 30 seconds after the end of injury time, due to a substitution. For sure, nothing more than that. If you assess the incident in 28'as missed foul and YC, mark should be 8.3. Otherwise, a full 8.4.
    If the game was not so demanding for referee, this was not the same for assistant referees, and especially assistant referee 2. The latter was very challenged and made an excellent impression. He got all his decisions right, including a correctly disallowed goal, an excellent onside before 0-1 by Shakhtar, other ONSIDES in occasion of the goals scored and also further situations. I can count 5 major and important decisions. Basically 8.5, but one can discuss about 8.6.
    AR1 very challenged as well, and he was faultless. One very crucial decision was an offside flag in 85'. For sure 8.5 can be given as well.
    AAR1, as already stated, involved in the assessment of penalty area incident (65'), AAR2 and FO expected level.

    For sure, the team can be appointed again and it would be interesting to see them in a more challenging context.

      Obrenovic is from Slovenia, if I understand correctly what you are asking. He had been a striker in Slovenian 2nd Division, if I am not mistaken, before becoming a referee. Very talented indeed.

    In past years, the US federation has put older ARs on these matches if their retirement was imminent from the FIFA list. You can probably read these assignments (and some similar ones in September) as an indication that Wienckowski and Morgante are leaving the FIFA list.

    Novak Simović from Serbia is reported as referee for Italy - Belgium under 21 friendly to be played today. He is a NO FIFA referee. This would be strange, I will let you know later whether his name is confirmed.

      Its confirmed by Serbian federation. There are some rumors he'll replace Nenad Djokic and Danilo Grujic on FIFA list. Dont know if that'll happend.

      I will be very disappointed if they remove Danilo Grujić again, i would remove Nenad coz he isnt improving at all.

      It seems as he is officiating this game with two FIFA assistant referees, so a further confirmation that he will get the badge. Unluckily, I can't recognize them. AR2 is bald.
