I start with Obrenovic, observed by Rosetti. Sometimes we are maybe too particular in making predictions, it was easier. All candidates for Elite are being observed by committee members, so Obrenovic with Rosetti makes sense compared to Pinheiro with Kuipers.
ReplyDeleteSo the Portuguese, the Slovenian and Rumsas at moment are the three above all. We'll see, but it's rare that after committee's observation a promotion then doesn't follow.
About the rest, honestly I didn't expect Gil Manzano in Aston Villa - Juventus, he will be again with an Italian team, very crucial game for both sides. Oliver in Bologna another particular assignment, considering that Bologna got all Category 1 referees before.
Kabakov confirms the good form after a poor period, he is back, but I think chances for promotion will follow on next updates and not now.
Then, the big surprise: Letexier in Champions League and he will have to miss the domestic event on Tuesday. Of course we can guess that the UEFA appointment was made after the publication of this event. Still, Turpin is not seen for big games and he gets a rather "normal one". One can heavily discuss about that...
Schnyder in CL but not Schaerer: it looks like the mistake made by Siwss in his last CL game was too big for UEFA, he returned in Nations League and now I think he will appear in Europa League, but another matchday of CL missed for him.
Normal assignments for Lambrechts and Saggi.
We don't see Nyberg in CL, PSG - PSV was maybe another very big topic for committee, and more generally, including Schaerer again in this discussion, it's the confirmation that for committee NL assignments are rather very low profile games if compared to CL and maybe even EL in some cases.
Ah, and no appointment for Attwell as well (VAR in PSG - PSV).
DeleteOut of 5 assignments in these 5 rounds of the Champions League, Nyberg has only received 2. I hope the committee has not lost confidence in him.
DeleteTurpin's treatment is extremely harsh IMO.
ReplyDeleteI don't share the criticism of Clément Turpin's management: Dinamo Zagreb and Borussia Dortmund are separated by two points and the underdogs have home advantage, so you can expect an open game. If the Croatians win, they would overtake the Germans and probably push them out of the top 8. This encounter is also about whether they qualify directly for the round of 16 or have to take the detour via the play-offs. Top matches don't always have to include the same nations. I think it's quite positive when referees don't whistle the same team three times a season.
DeleteI don’t like the management of Turpin. Difficult to understand his status and reputation at the moment. One could say, the appointment of Letexier isn’t deserved based on his performances after the EURO. But I’m sure he will do fine.
ReplyDeleteGozubuyuk has been out since MD4-MD5 and Nations League, while still active in the Dutch League where he makes a decent impression. Strange, but it could be sth personal.
I already predicted this, based on how KNVB’s new head of referees operates: prior to the international game, they appoint the full international team in a hidden game domestically (same AR’s and even the 4O) as preparation.
Wonder why Michael Oliver has a Scottish AVAR
ReplyDeleteWell with Attwell seemingly out after PSG vs PSV and Coote out for obvious reasons. Salisbury made a mess in Taylor's game last time out. Not many remaining options. Slightly surprised by Kavanagh 4th and not VAR though
Delete4 VAR CL debuts in these 9 games: Van Driessche, Draganov, Borosak and Gillett. (Plus, first of the season for Hernandez and a debut for Cuadra on Tuesday).
ReplyDeleteSo clearly more variety there. Already 34 different VARs in CL this season compared to 30 last year.
Definitely referees like Makkelie, Taylor and Turpin hiding in less important games.
ReplyDeleteWhat does the committee want with this?
To protect them or is their path coming to an end?
I know a lot of readers won't like this but I think their time has passed. They haven't been at the highest level at Euro.
DeleteYou're absolutely right: that's why UEFA - instead of Makkelie, Taylor and Turpin - has to focus on Vinčić, Vinčić and Vinčić.
DeleteTaylor has been hidden after the ESP-GER game. I think he still has a chance to end his career with a UCL final though.
DeleteTurpin’s management is something I don’t understand. But I haven’t seen most of his performances. Was it below par? No reason to hide Turpin after he already did the UEL and UCL finals.
You can add Zwayer to that “hidden” list as well. Started the season very hidden. I was a bit surprised by his management, with the San Marino game.
Makkelie appointed to his 4th (out of 5) UCL games already. His path reminds me somehow of Vincic’ path last season, a bit more away from the spotlight.
But still too early to draw conclusions.
@Peter 😁
Delete@ref88 You also can't understand Turpin's management.
DeleteHe's one of those who still has a few more years of fire left in him.
He must have another 3 or 4 years at a high level.
It's hard to understand.
Good point about Zwayer, he's also hidden in several minor games!
While Vincic works in several high-level games!
Yes, Turpin can continue for few more years. But he’s normally not considered for the finals this season. Agree with Peter that Turpin’s game is still very important for the standings. But most of us won’t understand why Turpin is so away from the spotlight while Letexier (French #1..) has the big clash *regardless of some poor performances this season*
DeleteThere is no reason to hide Turpin. For what? Coming for UCL final from the shadow?
DeleteThere must be some other reason
It's different for Zwayer and Makkelie. IMO both are candidates for UCL final this season.
Makkelie can be hidden for good reasons, I'd even say finally.
DeleteTurpin disappointed in Euro opening (after having been stellar in UCL semi), Zwayer somehow disappointed too, not only for media but also committee.
After his Euro semi I think we won't see Taylor at very top again. Shame but...
Can't agree with what they are doing to Turpin and I hope they will let him recover. They seem to forgive to Letexier with more ease now even if he has done some unexpected performances. Weird management and I would say definitely not top class even on a human level
You will have corrected, Euro quarter for Taylor of course
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteNow we have to wait for the development of the competition to find out what the committee has in store for Turpin.
DeleteIn my opinion, he deserves more opportunities!
@ref88 What is the future of Spanish refereeing?
I don't see good times ahead for him.
I think it would be time to bet on new prospects.
Manzano and Sanchez have already had several chances.
Manzano should have earned some credits in Nyon for how he handled Netherlands vs Hungary (NL); game with a medical emergency in Hungary’s technical area. I thought he had a good game and expected him in AV-Juventus. Focus is still on him as Spanish #1, I can see Manzano in a Europa League final in 2025/2026.
DeleteI hope Manzano regains his confidence and manages to perform well again.
DeleteBecause if he didn't, he would start investing in new names.
Like the new FIFA referees Muniz Ruiz and Alberola Rojas.
I prefer Alberola.
I am at the stadium in Belgrade. I have never seen such a performance from the ref, this is just incredible. He made enormous number of mistakes in just one half, all in favor of one team - Stuttgart! He missed numerous foul intentionally for Red Star, but gave the same to the guests. And he did it all the time. After one missed foul for the home side, he gave the foul for guest issuing 4 YCs - 3 for dissent! The crowd gone nuts, we have never wittnesed this kind of inetentional refereeing (it was even better against Barca). This Lambrecths is far under European level, this is crazy what he is doing. And when there is pulling and SPA for Red Star - he didn’t even think about YC. It is obvious that he wants to give RC to home side that leads at halftime. Just watch 2nd half.
ReplyDeleteCounting YCs
DeleteClear offside missed by AR1 Burt in Bologna after 6 minutes. VAR intervention to disallow the goal scored by the home team.
ReplyDeleteVery intense and difficult debut for Letexier but ref seems to control strictly players with 3 early YC. One for clear dissent. Good management by French umpire IMO.
ReplyDeleteVery easy game for Turpin and his team so far, however they missed four blatant corner/no corner decisions for both teams. Turpin had to compensate with a few no fouls to cover for himself and his team. Not a good look for him IMO.
ReplyDeleteLexetier not very good in Liverpool so far. Missed two YCs for Madrird. Also 2 clear corners and 2 clear fouls. Tough second half for him especially with the anfield crowd against him.
ReplyDeleteI noticed that too. Letexier is being too complacent in calling some fouls in Liverpool's favor and he's not showing the yellow card. In the incident between Konaté and Modric, he should have shown the card to the Croatian.
DeleteCompletely ridiculous biaised comments. Please…
DeleteWhat is it with referees and Madrid, are they afraid of this team? Very poor from Letexier
ReplyDeleteYep,everyone is afraid of Madrid, even their opponets who let them have 15 CL titles so far.
DeleteIf refs are so afraid of Real, then explain to me their last game against Milan where they had overturned goal and were punishedfor their beahviour...
Explain to me why Mariani showed them 5 cards and whistled penalty against them vs Lille?
I could go on and on but reality is that much of these posts are not objective and it's easy to criticize ref when you hate certain team or otherwise...
This is the difference between the "felt reality" and the "fact reality" and you could see that in all times, like in the National leagues, too. In Germany they always said, the refs are on Bayern's side. Letexier did a good job, only some minor mistakes, good body language, respected, and his natural authority in his young years, that's a gift!
DeleteHave to disagree with you, Letexier has been overall very good
ReplyDeleteHow did ascensio escape with just a yellow
ReplyDeleteGood performance by Letexier. It seems that these days refs show more cards for dissent than for actual fouls :-)
ReplyDeleteA few excellent no calls now by Letexier. This is what makes him a great referee IMO.
ReplyDeleteShocking penalty call by Letexier couldn't wait to give it, didn't give one to Salah far more contact
ReplyDeleteStop ridiculous words…obvious step on foot and Crystal one…
DeleteClear step on top of foot, let’s be honest
DeleteWas really looking forward to watching Obrenovic tonight and he's been an absolute disaster yet.
ReplyDeleteHe's saved Benfica two sending offs (Carreras, Florentino) and for much less he's now sent off Monaco's Singo. Painful.
Bellingham somehow not getting booked..
ReplyDeleteFirst advantage and then rc by Schnyder? Correct card btw
ReplyDeleteYes, but the technicalities were not good.
Delete- Hopefully no VAR input without OFR - so it must be (officially) discussions with AR and/or 4O, which explain the delay
- Then stopping the game, when a cross is made, i.e. stopping a promising attack
- Restart with a dropped ball for the GK instead of a free kick for the foul. By my understanding, it had to be the free kick - but I am not completely sure.
https://streamin.me/v/4339676a
DeleteVery strange management indeed.
Studying the reaction by referee at the moment of the foul, one could dare to say he was aware of red card, and I think he tried an advantage, but this was a wrong management to me, because unless a very clear OGSO and it wasn't, it was just a promising attack, game must be stopped immediately to avoid potentially controversial situations. I think there weren't involvements by teammates but just referee wanted to wait for the action, then he changed idea and returned back realizing that it had't been the best choice.
I agree with Chefren’s analysis and to add, the moment he did stop the game was a far more promising situation than the initial moment of the foul.
DeleteYes, not a clear GSO to give an advantage after such s SFP. Anyways good decision at the end. Position is not bad in my opinion but he is probably not that sure for the POC. However helped congrats and this is a good Team example.
DeleteEasy penalty call at anfield for Letexier for the second
ReplyDelete2nd penalty by Letixier, spot on again
ReplyDeleteAgree. Clear foul and overall excellent refereeing by Letexier.
DeleteI do think the 2nd penalty was rather soft, barely any contact. 1st one was more clear. Both penalties missed, so there is no impact anyway.
ReplyDeleteIt’s one of those nights again… Not watching LIV-RMA, but reading the blog I can’t have a clue if Letexier is doing a good job or not. I read comments that he’s performing disastrous, which seemingly come from English side and opposite opinions which don’t tolerate any criticism, which feel like from French origin.
ReplyDeleteVery curious to the extensive analysis by one of the known objective readers :)
Excellent performance by Letexier. A night to treasure (two big teams, excellent contribution to the match by the refs, no chance for complaints) for him. In this new era of UEFA refereeing, I think the Frenchman is the leading European referee.
DeleteThanks for providing this clarity! A good night so tonight’s eyecatcher was handled (far) more convincingly than yesterday’s.
DeleteI do wonder what makes you come to your ultimate conclusion, as I think Francois’ performances after Euro’s weren’t particularly convincing?
This comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteNot watching the game, but here second YC by Obrenovic:
ReplyDeletehttps://streamin.me/v/882c9fe2
Particular that you could say two players from Monaco made the same foul and so another YC could have been issued (we know that for reckless no matters that game has been stopped before for a previous foul).
I will try to report on this game if possible on next days.
This is a clear YC for reckless. Out of context this is a 100% correct decision.
DeleteBig decision for Manzano at the end. Foul on keeper given.
ReplyDeleteWow,what a performance by Letexier in this game. Two excellent penalites, he is again old Francois, and he is back in the game. I m so satisfied and happy how he did his job. Lets se further managment with him.
ReplyDelete+1.
DeleteExcellent performance, wow! Rosetti must be sooo happy with him today.
DeleteIn general its a very good performance with the whole game . Anyways first penalty for Real was a little bit light. Yes i agree - there is a contact but a very very little slide stamping. Still I agree with penalty but I would also agree if not given. In my opionion no VAR intervention in any case.
Deleteagree with GRef
DeleteAgain completely disagree - watch the first half critically.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteYou couldn't have watched the match.
DeleteIt was a terrible performance and Monaco have every reason to be furious.
Manzano was never going to give it against an Italian team, was he? But wouldn't he have if places were swapped? Same old story.
ReplyDeleteIt’s a clear foul: Carlos plays the goalkeeper. I can’t comment on the rest of the performance though.
DeleteLoooks indeed a clear foul on keeper. He would have done the same in the other penalty area, these are not difficult situations to read.
DeleteGood performance overall from Letexier
ReplyDeleteAlways different opinions on the blog :) I didn't watch Liverpool - Real Madrid and I'm very curious about the performance and the penalty calls. By reading the comments, I always realize how much difficult is to be objective for people, for sure somebody must be wrong in some cases, but as for now I can't know who :)
ReplyDeletehas anyone seen rade obrenovic and istvan kovacz in the same picture or in the same room...asking for a friend...
ReplyDeleteIs it just me missing the clue (haven’t seen the match)?
DeleteLetexier did very well, he’s ahead of Turpin and I like his style. But to be fair: “leading referee” is extremely exeggerated after a poor season start — where was the ever critical admin @Mikael to report that btw? :). Letexier should be way more consistent to carry that title imho.
ReplyDeleteWe are still talking about a very young referee who was only challenged in 1st leg games last season, and a referee who had a hidden journey to his EURO final and almost got it by accident (lack of other options!).
But Letexier has the potential to be the greatest of all time. Definitely.
I think you are slightly misunderstanding what I'm saying. I don't watch thaaat many games and perhaps it's true that Letexier had a bad start to this season (I saw he was demoted to Conference for mistakes in Leipzig-Juve, but watched that APOEL-Fiorentina and thought he was very good). What I'm observing is that 24/25 seems to be the start of what one might call a 'post-big name era' and that Letexier, an excellent referee but the opposite of (eg) Orsato, is the flag-bearer for this new style.
DeleteFair enough 👍🏼
DeleteSurprised of myself, but you gotta praise Rosetti for the Letexier appointment. A very young referee who has gotten maybe the biggest match of his life by accident and way too early lost the plot after it. Letexier after the Olympics probably was very tired, he couldnt imagine anymore a clear future path. How do you motivate yourself to improve when you already got your biggest match at 35 y.o. ? Following that you find yourself (rightfully) in a couple of smaller matches (ECL, NL in Bosnia) that now look too small for you, and you dont even perform good in those matches you think you are too good for.
ReplyDeleteNow simply saying "You have my full trust" and giving Letexier a game that is special was probably exactly what he needed. Letting him discover there are a lot of matches to be achieved.
I would now count on Letexier to be back motivated and back in form. Only thing I am a little worried about is how he would do in important, but on profile less sonorous matches.
We can't deny Letexier good performance today. Two penalties spotted on the field is reason to be proud of his performance.
ReplyDeleteVideo clips from Liverpool FC vs Real Madrid CF (François Letexier)
ReplyDeletehttps://files.fm/u/ycxtx3huj5
In a single picture, the reason why committee loves Letexier.
Deletehttps://ibb.co/tJP03Vf
Thank you for the clips, very interesting footage to analyze. Based on what I see here, strong performance in a relatively difficult game.
DeleteHis sprints on the 32’ tackle and on the second penalty kick are highlight real stuff, seamless combination of fitness, reading the game, decision-making, and proximity/body language to sell the decisions. Fantastic work.
The only significant downside is that the first penalty is too soft for my liking. It might be supportable, and it’s not clear error for VAR to intervene, but I think a better decision would have been no penalty.
A pity the broadcaster didn't show any replay of 49' holding penalty incident - it looks quite serious based on the still frame
Deletehttps://pasteboard.co/teplapvrrDnU.png
'17 yc for dissent is right of course but Gravenberch's frustration originates from a very clear foul against him, should've been a free kick to Liverpool in dangerous position. In the first half Letexier really missed too many fouls from Madrid, second half was better but I also didn't like Madrid's penalty, too soft. Esp keeping in mind several much harder Madrid fouls he missed.
DeleteHave to disagree with most comments on here regarded François Letexier. As a neutral from Ireland . His foul detection was very poor and most fouls went in favour of madrid. There was also two clear YCs that should have been given to madrid. Penalty shouts good, however first half performance was not good enough in a big game.
ReplyDeleteAFC Champions League Elite™: AFC statement on refereeing
ReplyDeleteKuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has confirmed that it is conducting a comprehensive evaluation of the refereeing, including the performance of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR), during the AFC Champions League Elite™ League Stage West matches held this week, including the match between Al Sadd SC (QAT) and Al Hilal SFC (KSA) held on November 26, 2024, at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha, Qatar. The match ended in a 1-1 draw.
The AFC will undertake a detailed review of the refereeing decisions and overall performance of the referees. Any potential errors or areas of concern will be addressed in line with the regulations and protocols for referee assessment and performance improvement established by the AFC Referees Committee.
The AFC remains steadfast in its commitment to upholding the highest standards of refereeing across all its competitions. Ensuring the quality and professionalism of match officials, including those involved in VAR operations, is a key priority for the Confederation.
What a nothing statement. ‘Our referees’ performances will be reviewed and evaluated according to our protocol.’ Incredible!
DeleteSome clips below but first some words on Rade Obrenovic’s performance in Monaco-Benfica. Unfortunately: this game was very badly refereed by the Slovenian and a failing grade should be inevitable for him. Critics could argue this was an ‘anti-Monaco’ piece of refereeing, and would have apt justification: contrary to Kovacs (and the advice of the laws…), he played advantage from a reckless tackle committed by an already-cautioned away team player, but did not issue the sending off, instead booking two of his opponents for protestations after play was stopped. Another Monaco player booked for dissent later in the first half was wrongly sent off in the second, having committed what Obrenovic judged (likely) to be a reckless use of arms. In reality, in that incident the dismissed Singo hadn’t even committed an offence. Second 45’ was fully under control by the Slovenian ref but the first was very chaotic, even besides the big aforementioned mistake. Two ‘clear match errors’ (imo) and dubious work besides — I don’t think the mark should exceed 7,6 — and the route to Elite for the Slovenian no2 ought to be closed. Videos to follow!
ReplyDeleteWell, it seems we made the report together :)
DeleteBut for me, in the case of sending off, he didn't think about the arms, but just how player jumped on the opponent (reckless charging) and one can definitely support.
Nevertheless, fully agree about the rest, not a performance that we will remember.

ANALYSIS:
Opening caution of the game at 5' was to me totally wrong (Lage explained it perfectly) but I guess most refereeing people would support. A real step on foot happened at 25'; Obrenovic had already stopped play for a prior handball. After closely reviewing the incident, 27' is not a SPA foul, already-booked Florentino Luis made a small careless kick on Embolo's foot and didn't hold him. Correct decision by the ref. 28' was a clear booking though, tactical foul by Otamendi, perhaps the referee was 'put off' by the incident a minute prior; the Argentine would foul again, 35', without further censure. Correct YC for a (very) reckless challenge after advantage at 30', not quite SFP. After some dissenting-ish behaviour at 33', Obrenovic called both captains to him and asked them to tell their players to calm down. Perhaps this very public management was caused by the name of the assessor in the stands, but that might be a harsh supposition. 40' speaks for itself and you can see the game was no longer under control (two missed YCs in 44') at the end of the first half. It should be noted how lonnnggg Obrenovic took to actually blow the whistle at 41'; it should contextualise Singo's first YC (harsh). 45' was correctly given as no penalty but I'm not convinced that the on-field restart decision was corner, before the VAR informed. In my opinion, Singo doesn't commit a foul at 58': Benfica player backs up behind him, and the Monaco defender has his arms in a normal position for coordination. If his arms do make contact with the opponent, then it is careless at maximum. Certainly, it was incommensurate with the first half. It’s an unlucky incident for sure to face, but I think Obrenovic read it wrong. 79’ is a sound DtR booking and +93’ a missed card for reckless.
Not good linesmanship in the two disallowed incidents - the AR2 call is much more understandable but the mistake he makes is following the third-last defender and not second. AR1 behaviour shocked me a bit, he ran ‘sideways’ like a 1990s linesman who would always hold the flag in his right hand, and not the ‘crabbing’ movement facing the FoP. This is the explanation for a quite blatant missed offside.
In the end, one probably should (without further replays) deem the 58’ SYC as supportable from the assessing perspective, but the sparing of Careras at 40’ is definitely not. Thus, I would deem Obrenovic as having “lost control of his decisions (in the first half)” and score a mark of 7,6. A bad time to have a disaster night for the Slovenian official, under the eyes of Roberto Rosetti.
Not a full report (no time to do it) but still the most important incidents from Obrenović game. Unluckily, broadcaster didn't help us that much in a potentially crucial incident.
ReplyDelete5' YC for reckless, step on foot, correct decision
https://streambug.org/cv/76d0f6
29' YC after good advantage, reckless
https://streambug.org/cv/71ca3a
Later, referee was shown writing down the booked player but no replay of the challenge was shown (broadcaster didn't understand situation). More interesting than that, and disappointing for us, there was a VAR check about the foul at the next stoppage, just a few seconds. So, we can be sure it was reckless even without replay, but maybe something borderline to SFP. VAR checked that.
41' Possible second YC for reckless, two YC for dissent to Monaco
https://streambug.org/cv/19f8d0
Well, I'm sorry to say, but here clip says everything. Even without replay, stonewall YC even if you give advantage. Sorry for the Slovenian referee, then very strict with dissent and this was good. Also, one could discuss about his gesture to the second player he booked, one could read the action was maybe not 100% appropriate for a modern referee (mocking the player), but personally I really liked it. Nevetheless, guys... we can't be satisfied with that missed card.
In my opinion sometimes referees are too much worried about advantage that they maybe forget the nature of a foul...
42' YC for SPA / reckless, YC for dissent

A minute later, another heated moment followed. YC for SPA / Recklss, both arguments, but before referee decided to book Monaco player who was seen running toward him to make complaints. You can see this particular for a while in the video, immediately after the foul.
45' PAI

One can agree with no penalty, maybe if whistled supportable but rather controversial. A replay can give us the idea to make a comparison with the famous Oliver incident in Real Madrid - Juventus, but of course for other elements, different situation. I must add, not the best by Obrenovic to talk directly with VAR before indicating corner kick. He should be more free-minded in such situations. But still, OK decision.
50' and 53' VAR intervention for disallowing goals, wrong ONSIDES by assistant referees, one for both of them.
50' https://streambug.org/cv/d8597b
53' https://streambug.org/cv/e274e4
Maybe in the first case it wasn't 100% impossible, but still tight, while the second case could have been seen from the particular that the player was returning back from offside position, a part of his bosy was still ahead, but in such kind of action, an assistant referee can detect easier the possible offside position. But yes, we will not blame them, as most of the remaning decisions were OK.
58' Second YC for reckless charging

A card that is not common among many referees for the kind of foul, but fully supportable and OK. Personally, I like it, for me no discussion on this decision in particular.
79' YC for unsporting behavior / time wasting

Mandatory booking, maybe even givena bit too late by referee.
90'+8 Better to go with final whistle here...

Definitely!
Very, very difficult match for the Slovenian.
DeleteOnce again he finds himself dealing with a difficult task.
He puts in all his skills trying to give the best, but there is certainly the evident mistake of the second yellow missing fior Portuguese player in the first half. It is impossible to say that it is not yellow, unfortunately, even if it is only a second yellow that is missing and not a direct red, it is an evident crucial mistake. Rosetti should try to turn a blind eye. On the rest of the disciplinary management, referee tried to do the best possible, as mentioned, starting to book from the first minutes and this was good: the first yellow for step on foot, evident.
Sometimes the Slovenian however gives me the impression of being too worried about performing at the expense of making decisions in a natural way, and this could limit him in some way, it is human to be felt under observation, let alone in a match like this with Rosetti on the stads, all in all if he were more natural, perhaps also showing a bit of mental freedom without always proceeding by schemes, he could do maybe better.
I think it is difficult to judge the performance as positive, but there are very clear circumstances that can explain the nature of this outing. Very very harsh on the protests, as mentioned, just to make an example, could he have handled the first yellow card to the Monaco player, then sent off, differently?
Not to try and overcomplicate matters between two reports, but if assessing Singo's as a reckless challenge/charge, what of this incident in 38' where Obrenovic played on?
DeleteTo me neither are fouls, but judging severity, imo the 38' is a heavier collision than 58'.
