    1. If it's Paris-Bayern, Lehtovaara seems the best option.
Otherwise Hussein and/or Frappart might be considered as well - but it still could be the Finn.

    2. Without Paris I am almost 100% sure it will be Frappart.

    3. with bayern not in the final i think hussein is in great form. she had euro playoff match and probably the best match in female football with france v usa in last international break. after last performances i think will be deserved. she is 40+ so she wont have many more years...it is sad to see such a final played on a sunday when all other male leagues play at the same time...

    4. The second leg is about 2 months before the Olympics. Why would Staubli and Pustovoitova have a different AR2 in the UEFA semi-finals? Di Monte and Kaivoja will not go to Tokyo.

    2. don't overuse the word ''breaking''. That's used when some extreme event has occured. It's not breaking news that a list has been official for a tournament that's months away.

    1. There really isn't such a thing in Sweden or such a system. Especially now with no fans all games in Sweden are completely normal and the same.

  9. In today's German Cup semifinal (Referee: Gräfe, VAR: Steinhaus) a good example (43'), that VAR can intervene for given penalties even if there is some contact. In this case, the contact was clearly initiated by the attacker.
I mention this because of the discussion regarding the penalty by Soares Dias yesterday.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Of course they can intervene if there is contact. Because it was simulation. He tried to deceive the referee. I can understand a no call but the correct call should be a yellow card for simulation.

      Delete
    2. Yes, a YC would be nice here.
However they are rarely given for such situations, because there seems to be an unwritten law, that YCs for simulation are only possible, if there was no contact.

  10. I saw that tonight Gianluca Aureliano, Italian top league referee, was the host of a transmission on the TV. Chefren, did u see it?
    Many thanks

    1. Yes! He was excellent if you ask me, he answered many questions, even very difficult ones, about his refereeing career and VAR, he gave a human vision referee's role and figure, I think that he is the most cultured and competent among the Serie A referees to go and talk on TV, trying to explain to fans and football lovers how things work in the world of refereeing. A pleasant surprise off the pitch, definitely. There hadn't been an occasion to know him more before today.
The new course of Trentalange is definitely having a big impact on AIA and I'm really happy for that.
