Before making predictions for the games, as first step we must try to solve some questions.
Who will be main referee in Russia? Who will work only as fourth official?
So, confederation by confederation you are invited to make your choice. Please indicate who will be, according to your opinion, main referee. Multiple choices are of course allowed.
The polls have ended. A new post with results will follow soon.
I must already thank all readers, we have many votes in a so short time, I didn't expect that, and maybe a week is a too long time, but well, this is more than good, we will have more than reliable results.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting results upto now with Sato leading AFC, Grisha leading CAF and Cáceres leading CONMEBOL being some of the biggest surprises of this poll so far :)

Main referee was Igor Pajac in Croatian big game between Rijeka and Hajduk.
Very strange penalty, looks like call was made by AAR Fran Jovic.
Thoughts?
IMO Very Brave and even correct recommendation by Jovic.
Delete#27 does kick the attacker, of course his reaction makes Jovic look stupid and fall for a dive, but I think technically it is right. For a referee, if your AAR in that position shouts "PENALTY, PENALTY, PENALTY!" and starts making SUCH a clear gesture (not recommended for AARs?) you cannot really ignore it.
To be honest in case of no whistle I can't imagine a huge polemic, ignoring the fact maybe it wasn't so wise, it actually was a foul I think.
Assist, don't insist. Good decision but wrong body language.. as previous reader said, what if the referee thinks it's not a penalty?
DeleteOk, as AAR you are 200% sure about your decision but it's wrong way zo express it.
0:48 - set the speed 0,25, clear kick/stamp visible. A very good spot from AAR and the AARs are encouraged to make gestures nowadays.
DeleteThe gesture is in my opinion excessive, right that AAR are strongly encouraged to highlight with firmness their decisions, but in this case if main referee has a different idea, he is forced to whistle in any case, following the blatant advice by AAR.

ReplyDeleteFound this article just a little while back... I really don't know what this is all about... Can somebody who follows Hungarian refereeing in detail shed some light on this??
Vad is miles away from Kassai and will never be even close to Viktor's quality.
DeleteNo doubt about that... Bognar may be the man for the future now!!
DeleteI watched him live on Serbia-Moldavia.
DeleteNot so challenging match but Bognar really looked impressive IMO.
I liked his natural authority, style of refereeing and man managment. He allowed "english" style of play which I liked the most.
He was also good in UEL Partizan-Young Boys
