Schärer's game appears to be the most interesting one on paper!
ReplyDeleteUsually, the opening match involving the host team is also considered a prestigious one, irrespective of its UEFA ranking. Concerning Andrew Dallas, UEFA was more or less forced to appoint him for FRA-UKR: Since he should not handle ENG and assuming that each referee will get one match per group, it was a wise decision to appoint him for the ENG-group (but the parallel match) already on matchday 1.
DeleteGood game for Munuera that one!
DeleteI have seen Schüttengruber in NOR-POR today. Players were mainly focusing on playing football, the referee was not really challenged, which allowed him to stay in the background. Schüttengruber was consistent in his foul detection, there was only one YC given (mandatory, SPA, minute 44). It has been an expected level performance overall by the Austrian, which is not the worst of things considering that Bo Karlsson has been watching him. AR1 with some good onside/offside calls as well.
