Congratulations to Ref_1707, Chefren and Soham for the podium positions 👏👏🏆🥇🥉🥈. Now we have the Argentinian referee in the final match of WC tomorrow and "Germany" won the prediction game, at least a small consolation after all 😉👍.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that in case of England in final, Faghani would have been appointed. So, a big "drama" for the Iranian referee, he had to stay out for this reason, however Pitana was the first choice in all the other cases... just one thing, he couldn't have handled England (Argentina, of course, and maybe also Brazil).

DeleteIn the same article, it is also reported that in 2014 Argentina reaching the final was the reason for which Pitana had to stop after quarterfinals... otherwise he would have been maybe even candidate for the final at that time. Can you believe that? For sure Pitana had already impressed the whole committee 4 years ago, before Collina's nomination.
DeleteYes it's a known news that both Pitana and Kuipers would be an absolute shoe-in for the last 3 matches in 2014 but both of their host countries ruled them out and they had to go home after QF!
