  2. You can easily take me off the list. I only gave minutes to ENG-CZE. It's a great work by Mikael W. and Howard Maxi. Respect!

    1. Maybe not the most clever way to end the match. Many yellow cards also. Interesting to know how he tried to prevent this by player management, prevention and being proactive.

  4. WOW. Portugal trip to Saudi Arabia. The following referees are there:

REFs: João Capela, Bruno Esteves, Manuel Oliveira, Fábio Veríssimo
    VARs: Bruno Paixão, Vasco Santos

Appointments for many domestic leagues can be find under the link below:

    1. As always, many thanks for such a holistic work!

I am interested to see who SAFF selects for the An-Nassr Riyadh - Al-Hilal Riyadh derby match, which is the key match in the race for the championship (55pts - 57pts, with five rounds left c. the match).

Furthermore, SAFF were so worried about the first match of this Riyadh derby this season, that they called Néstor Pitana specially to officiate the game. Perhaps they ask the referee of the last WC Final again, I don't know how his performance was received there.

My prediction for this match is Danny Makkelie, he was the best referee for matches in KSA that I saw, but I watch with anticipation as to who will be assigned to handle this huge match.

    2. I do not meet Manuel Oliveira in the list ...

    3. He was fourth official in Al-Hazm - Al-Fatah

    4. Can you share the full list of nominations for the Saudi Arabian League?

    5. Makkelie for the Riyadh derby would be very possible as he is a welcome guest to the Saudi RefCom, but a QF return in UCL would rule him out, as UEFA don’t want trio’s abroad shortly before handling a match in their European competitions.

      At-Ta'awun - Al-Wahda

    7. Unfortunately in Portugal there is a climate of suspicion around the referees. Referees with great quality and with tests given at international level. As a Portuguese player, I see that UEFA does not look at the internal problems of the country but at the essence that these referees show with great professionalism.
Among the international group I highlight Soares Dias, Fábio Veríssimo, João Capela, João Pinheiro and António Nobre.
I recall that António Nobreu debuted this year in the Portuguese First League and this year he joined the batch of Portuguese international referees. The 30 year old will certainly have a very promising future at UEFA.
The departure of Portuguese referees to Saudi Arabia is not new, at that time there were already 12 referees there, accompanied by their assistants also Portuguese. I do not have VAR accounting ...
The Portuguese referees also sporadically mark their presence in the Egyptian championship. João Capela directed the game between Pyramids FC and Al Moqaweloon last February.
Portugal has quality, quality that is strengthening in the international championships!

    8. Soares Dias (POR) is a strong possibility for the match between Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal

    9. Cüneyt Çakır has been announced by SAFF as the referee of the Al-Nassr Riyadh - Al-Hilal Riyadh match. I imagine that the full team will be communicated at the usual time at around midday CET tomorrow.

    10. Full Turkish crew in An-Nassr - Al-Hilal. Çakır, Duran, Ongun, Göçek and Kalkavan as VAR.

  5. OT: Some update about Fu Ming
About a month ago, Chinese FIFA referee Fu Ming made 3 controversial decision benefiting the away team in CSL game Shandong vs Henan.

Recently, a source on Weibo (Twitter-like social media) claimed the CFA Referee Committee determined Fu Ming's decision are critically incorrect and affected the outcome of the game. Therefore, Fu Ming is "internally suspend." Some report pointed out Fu Ming didn't receive CSL assignment because of upcoming the AFC CL assignment. No official announcement from the CFA as usual.

The plagiarism controversies kind of go away.

Fu Ming was very recently selected as a VAR of U20 World Cup.

Honestly I'm confused by all the information here. And after so many things happened the CFA still wouldn't say a damn thing.

the sending off by Taylor in Sevilla - Lazio, assessed as controversial by most of our readers, has produced 3 matchdays of ban for SS Lazio player Adam Marušić. So a clear (indirect) signal that also committee appreciated this decision.

    1. Big THANK YOU! It's surely an extreme experience to handle such game. It's much more difficult than 99,9% of WC and CL games.

    2. Player acceptance of referees in Saudi Arabia is awful!

    3. How do these players look themselves in the mirror at night and aren't embarrassed by their behaviour. Multiple theatrical rolling around on the ground like they've been shot. Embarrassing.
