ReplyDeleteI TESTED POSITIVE FOR HSV-2 A FEW MONTHS AGO.
DeleteAt first, Yes, I was devastated thinking I have an incurable STD for life. After doing hours of research I quickly realized genital herpes is a filthy parasite that just likes to hide in your body. Yes, There’s no “medical cure” but that doesn’t mean your body can’t get rid of it. I literally flush it out of my system with the help of Doctor Azuka, A natural herbal medicine which I ordered after doing some research. And now I’m HSV-2 negative, I never believed it until my doctor finally gave me the test results and behold I was HSV-2 free. I’m so glad that I found you, Doctor Azuka. Thanks so much for your goodness I’m grateful. You can also get your help from him through his email } dr.azukasolutionhome@gmail.com
Did anyone see the RC yesterday from Kavanagh in WHU-CHE? Imo an unbelievable decision.
ReplyDeletethe contact is dangerous , the red card could not be a mistake .I agree with the English ref
DeleteDisagree. Balbuena literally could not do anything else. He has to put his leg somewhere.
DeleteCompletely agree with bingo11, and it’s not even a foul in my view. I’ve stated this before and I echo once again, this is a completely normal action of a football player playing the ball. After that the foot has to come down somewhere, and in this situation it does in the most usual way. No irregular movement or additional use of force. Unfortunate, absolutely! But nothing to blame the WHU player for. It would have been a mistake if the red card was an on-field decision, but intervening here IMO simply shows a lack of quality.
DeleteOnce again the devil's advocates become active after an extremely dangerous foul play correctly punished. Fortunately it's the opinion of real referees and not the propagandists of blind leniency that counts.
DeleteAgree with bingo 11 and Marcello. This is a classic example of how slow-motion images and replays can make the normal kicking of a ball look like something horrific. Nothing turns into something if you misuse VAR like this. I 'understand' why the VAR intervenes, and I've seen calls like this before, but in truth, this is by no means a red card.
DeleteHaving said that, I've been watching a lot of rugby refereeing clips in the past couple of days and what I noticed is that sometimes, in rugby, the outcome of an action seems more important than the actual foul itself. If a player jumps to catch a ball and an opponent runs into him, making the catcher fall head down on the floor, the player who has comitted the foul can be shown a red card, because the other player landed on his head. This is deemed (rightly) extremely dangerous for the health of the player. Maybe I'm not explaing the rugby law perfectly, but it makes for good discussion material. I am not sure myself what I like best for football. But if the football LotG would be written like this, I could understand why Balbuena was sent off here. It doesn't matter how he did it, but he hit the opponent on the leg studs showing and therefore endangered the safety of the player.
Funny that a specific anonymous user always reacts very strongly on my opinion (and my arguments).
DeleteA little pathetic however that this user considers his no-mercy, zero tolerance arguments as the holy truth in refereeing. Quita arrogant attitude.
And I see the logic in Eogham’s argumentation, but I wish the rugby argumentation will not be introduced in football’s LOTG. In my opinion players who commit dangerous offenses while being able to predict the outcome should be punished, but players who just ‘play football’ in a normal way and unfortunately hit an opponent in a dangerous way, as a consequence of sheer bad luck, should not be punished. In this particular situation, what else could Balbuena do to pass the ball?
It's as funny as your always one-sided opinions whenever an 'accidental SFP' occurs. Otherwise you're not so active at all. It's a clear sign you have an ax to grind, promoting blind leniency (and using this blog to that).
DeleteAnd don't make yourself a victim, please. You know when you're active on this blog, right?
EOT
Video: https://streamable.com/oalqrr
DeleteIMO it's actually borderline, however, I tend towards YC.
On the one hand, the attacker hazards the consequences of his tackle with his studs up.
Nonetheless, on the other hand, he kicks away the ball and inevitably lands on the opponent's leg. That's of course a terrible and painful result, but is that Serious Foul Play, whilst his intention definetly not seems to be to even foul his opponent. These arguments slightly overweigh for me.
Stills:
Ball played: https://ibb.co/jf3wcSN
Bad outcome: https://ibb.co/4RR1PpX
You’re opinions seem to be as one-sided as mine, and for all we know you, hiding as ‘Anonymous’, might only appear on this blog to attack me :)
DeleteMy ‘ax to grind’ is indeed to promote reasonable refereeing with feeling for the game, contrary to the ultra-orthodox, black/white way of assessing situations.
Apart from that, as always, you’re not interested in a discussion based on content but rather judge my participation in this blog.
Then at last I guess it’s not up to you to decide when we have to end a topic, though this time I can agree ‘cause this doesn’t contribute to the content anymore.
No RC for me. Most arguments have already been written, but the most important point is that the blue player runs into the kick - and therefore is responsible for the contact as well - and he could have it anticipated even better than his opponent.
DeleteIt would be different, if he was already standing there.
But as opinions heavily differ here, it shows
a) no VAR stuff
b) we need clarficiation either by IFAB or by the individual associations, what the correct outcome is in these situations.
Philipp, agree completely! No red card, and indeed so many conversation about it meens it's not a 100% mistake by referee, so no VAR intervention
DeleteClear red card. It endangers the safety of the opponent. That's it.
DeleteThis is a red card IMO. I have never kicked a football this way unless I am trying to injure someone. The weight should remain on the plant leg, and not transfer over to the kicking leg. This is a dirty move from Balbuena.
DeleteThe red card was overturned on appeal.
DeleteMy guess is Cakir at City-Psg
ReplyDeleteSo committee decided to appoint Makkelie for a semifinal first leg, now we have only to see what Real Madrid will do, to understand more about the final.
ReplyDeleteInteresting to see Grinfeeld as fourth official, I expected him in a EL semifinal, maybe he will get a second leg on next week, but also Villarreal - Arsenal on Thursday can be considered option, he would stay in Spain for some days. We will see.
So appointing the final will be problem if real Madrid go to the final
DeleteBrych has today game as VAR in the Bundesliga between Borussia Mönchengladbach against Arminia Bielefeld.
ReplyDeleteAs VAR
DeleteSorry hadn't seen that you had already written "as VAR"
DeleteHey guys,
ReplyDeleteQuick incident, what do you think? Was the VAR correct to intervene?
https://youtu.be/FuhmFwzCSy0?t=79
Your opinions are very much appreciated.
IMO correct decision, reckless stamp on the defender's leg.
DeleteAgree with Flip. Reckless stamp punishable. Good VAR awareness.
DeleteI hardly dare to comment on this one anymore, but is there anything the attacker can be blamed for, with the defender sliding into the spot the attacker has to put his foot...?
DeleteI agree with you Marcello, the attacker is not doing much wrong. For me, if the defender would not had played the ball, no VAR intervention would have been prefered.
DeleteTricky situation. Defender is forcing the contact with his tackling. I'd say no foul and not a clear mistake by the referee.
ReplyDeleteMy thinking for the finals are Lahoz, in case of RM Makkelie or Turpin. But now what if final would be RM- PSG? Makkelie with both SF and F? Not impossible, remember Clattenburg in 2016, but Clattenburg was in really top top form that year...
ReplyDeleteTaylor seems really appreciated by the committee, I can see him in this case...
DeleteThat is my thinking as well, and if we can assume that Makkelie knows this two, this appointment is a weird one. If Real win he gets the final, if not he doesn’t? Maybe our perception of the situation is wrong, but if this is the perception Makkellie has it seems like a conflict of interest. I would’ve appointed Makkelie for the other matchup.
DeleteSmala, your argument makes me think that UEFA are simply not considering Makkelie for the final this year.
DeleteLet's see if Kuipers gets a semi-final or is being kept for a surprise second final by his friend and admirer Rosetti?
As long as Makkelie *knows* that he is not being considered for the final, everything is ok.
Delete*or if Makkelie knows that Lahoz is NOT being considered for the final, for some reason.
DeleteWe now also know, that one of the previous final referees Brych, Cakir, Kuipers and Orsato will stay without CL SF.
ReplyDeleteI think, Cakir has the lowest standing among those, but as he already had no QF, I still expect him.
My guess is that Kuipers will be left out (maybe with an EL SF instead), as he already had so many CL matches this season. And he could remain a backup option for the final.
Kuipers will at least get a CL SF IMO given his current performances and given that his retirement after EURO is almost a certainty. If anybody performance wise should be left out from CL it would be either Cakir or Orsato for me. Brych is certain for me
DeleteWith Makkelie's appointment and with Brych having 1 of the remaining 3 SF's, we have Kuipers, Orsato and Cakir for the other 2 matches.
ReplyDeleteProbably Rosetti will wish Real to be out of the Final in order to appoint Mateu. If not, the appoimtment will go to Makkelie, Turpin or Taylor. No other realistic choices.
To indicate I’m not blindly advocating the abolishment of the sending off as an instrument for modern referees, I would like to applaud Del Cerro’s decision to send Villarreal’s Manu Trigueros off (65. minute in Barcelona-Villarreal) after a frontal and studs-up tackle. Although he first played the ball this is NOT a normal football action and the offender can easily oversee the consequences for his opponent. Good decision!
ReplyDeleteYes, this was a very clear RC.
DeleteBased on previous appointments made by Rosetti, there is no doubt who is number one for him - Kuipers and only Kuipers (to be honest, IMO Kuipers is in top three if not top referee of all the time, I know some will disagree, but as I said that is just my oppinion). So if anyone will get second CL final under Rosetti as a boss, it will be Kuipers.
ReplyDeleteParaguay - Bulgaria (Abdulrahman Al-Zaid) and Saudi Arabia - Denmark (Javier Castrilli) are today's games from FIFA World Cup 1998.
ReplyDeletewc98refs.blogspot.com
Kuipers will take control of the world soon.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be surprised 😉
ReplyDeleteVery unusual situation in La Liga game Sevilla-Granada. Fourth official announced 4 minutes of additional time, therefore referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetchea (FIFA 2nd) blowed the final whistle at 93:00, then several minutes of confusion and complains from Granada's players occured.
ReplyDeleteAfter consulting his assistants, de Burgos called back the players who left the FoP, and restarted the game to play the missing minute.
I'm curious to see what was the cause of this awkward incident (miscommunication between 4H and referee ? watch problem ?), maybe the match report will give some answers.
In the meantime, not the kind of situation you see everyday.
I am a Chinese and I have watched Chinese Super League for 15 years. In my memory, the same situation also happened in Chinese Super League at least two times. I think miscommunication between referee and fourth official is the main reason. And probably the referee just forgot the exact additional time, even if he is told by the fourth official.
DeleteFor those who understand a minimum of German :)
Deletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0F1PrMyvjWc
It's not so clear, that it is allowed by the LotG to restart the match after the final whistle, if it came too early. Other decisions can't be changed after the end of the game...
Could you post the other episodes of Let’s Dance Germany as well Philipp ;p
DeleteIMO, Brych and Cakir are 100% going to be in two of the three other semifinal matches. Last one is a toss-up between Kuipers and Orsato. I can see Kuipers being kept as a last-resort backup option for the final, in case it's RMA-MC and the committee doesn't trust Turpin yet. I think it's more likely that Turpin gets it ahead of Kuipers, but you never know.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone is going to get a second CL final in the Rosetti era, it's Kuipers.
Exactly, if anyone gets a second final, it will be Kuipers. Let's see whether he gets a semi-final or not. Let's see whether Mateu will get a semi-final again.
DeleteCakir has not shown to deserve a game such as Paris Manchester City.
ReplyDeleteOnly appointment possible Chelsea for him.
This is the 20th match in the KO stage of the Champions League for a Dutchman since the 16/17 season. No other country has had more appointments during this time.
ReplyDeleteGermany 18
England 8
France 7
Italy 17
Netherlands 20
Slovenia 10
Spain 16
Turkey 13
Interesting statistics! Slovenia more than England and France?
DeleteIt's also Netherlands' 18th appointment in this CL season, taking the all-time record away from Italy (17 in 2001 and 2017).
DeleteReferees with the most matches in the KO phase (since 16/17):
ReplyDeleteBrych (13), Cakir (12), Kuipers (10), Makkelie (10), Orsato (10), Mateu Lahoz (9), Skomina (8), Turpin (8)
Korea Republic - Mexico (Günter Benkö) and Netherlands - Belgium (Pierluigi Collina) will be today's games from FIFA World Cup 1998.
ReplyDeletewc98refs.blogspot.com
Spanish media spread conspiracy theories that UEFA had instructed Makkelie to whistle against Real in order to get revenge on Perez.
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable Fake News
That foul is not for YC???
ReplyDeleteMaybe , but it's first foul of the match , I agree with Danny's manage
DeleteI would have issued a YC as well; I can support Makkelie here, but no verbal warning is bothering me, I think it was mandatory.
DeleteThat was a clear yellow card. Had he landed under the leg it would have been a clear red.
DeleteStud on back of leg. Must be yellow.
ReplyDeleteYes. Had the intensity been more then it would have been SFP. So 2 missed yellow cards already and as usual no personality at all.
DeleteNow wrong YC at 27'. Not even a foul imho.
ReplyDeleteFirst YC for Real is too hard for me. He actually played the ball first. Foul ok, but really a reckless tackle?
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree. Especially as first card of the game, this shouldn't have been given.
DeleteHarsh YC, but still OK for me. Therefore Makkelie is not consistent, as he has not carded Militao's challenge which is much more reckless to me.
DeleteYC is acceptable for me
DeleteWhy are they playing in a different stadium? Looks like a training ground.
ReplyDeleteDifferent stadium compared to when? Real Madrid have been playing there since 2020.
DeleteMadrid's stadium Santiago Bernabeu is currently unavailable due to renovation work, so they are playing in this pitch instead, which might be their training ground in normal conditions.
DeleteMy bad.
DeleteHave been all year. Bernabeu is currently being renovated. As long as there is no audience allowed, probably a suitable solution.
DeleteI think maybe Makkelie missed a foul by Casemiro on Azpilicueta before that equaliser. Any thoughts?
ReplyDeleteRegarding the issued YC, I must say that watching that challenge live I had the perception of a possible RC for SFP and I was absolutely sure about a very clear YC to be issued, I would have done the same. However, afterwards the replay showed that it was maybe something one could have managened as only careless, but I can understand why Makkelie issued YC in this case. I'm sure he had this perception as well. It looked like player had hit with leg in a dangerous way the opponent, being late in this attempt to play ball.
ReplyDeleteAbout the rest, I think he could have chosen maybe a better moment in which to start with yellow cards, but no major issues so far.
Now another YC that I find fully correct.
I agree that the second YC of today's match is correct. Wow, heavy rain. The area in front of Chelsea's coach looks like a swimming pool now...
DeleteCorrect YC for SPA/reckless challenge to CHE#10
ReplyDeleteAs a referee, to take away a goal or breakaway, I want a clear foul, not something in the grey area that could or could not be called, and the contact on Azpillicueta before the goal fell into the later category for me.
ReplyDeleteLet me say that there haven't been any big mistakes by Makkelie so far, very calm match and no issues in terms of match control. However, to be honest I am not really convinced by Makkelie yet. Maybe he tries to be calm but for me it seems like he was a bit bored today. Some soft fouls whistled while some more intense tackles did not lead to free-kicks. Disciplinary control also a bit questionable if we compare the first YC given with the fouls earlier in the match. No bigger issues but also not faultless...
ReplyDeleteMakkelie 1H
ReplyDelete6' - good call IMO, Chelsea player steps across the tackle on purpose, freekick + no sanction
https://streamable.com/ki1tyk
27' - wrong call, Makkelie doubts his initial perception, incorrect YC, no foul
https://streamable.com/fpj43s
29' - fair jump for the ball, correct go on IMO
https://streamable.com/hx9993
38' - reckless, correct YC
https://streamable.com/kyehem
43' - missed (reckless?) stamp?
https://streamable.com/8jszsu
(I was out and just back now, I just skimmed through the comments / video, let me know if I missed sth important :))
Delete6' Clear Yellow IMO, I don't care about Mount's actions, sliding from benhind like that is reckless.
Delete27' Good YC, second scissoring action by foot is the foul.
29' Nothing
38' Clear YC
43' Foul definitely. Card optional IMO.
IMO
Delete6' - No sanction necessary, especially in the 6th minute. The CHE player steps into the line of the tackle deliberately and initites it himself as well.
You can give a YC here, but nothing mandatory.
27' - No foul for me. The second contact with the trailing leg is not executed in a reckless manner. The first one successfully aims at the ball.
29' - There is nothing the attacker could do to avoid thst incident, normsl amount of physical play.
38'/43' - Both clear fouls. First one is a mandatory caution, second one is supportable.
6' 100% must be YC, very dangerous on the player
Delete27' IMO this is a foul, YC can be avoided but not a technically wrong decision
43' Foul and should produce YC IMO
Correct YC for SPA to RMA#12.
ReplyDeleteSpot-on YC to RMA#5 for reckless stamp.
ReplyDeletePoor level of football in second half for a CL semifinal!
ReplyDeleteWeather would be one of the important reasons
DeleteThe way of issuing cards by Makkelie is really strange. Lazy, lordly and showing in pocket at the same time YC and RC. Usually referees keep card in different pockets, any ideas who has the same style as Makkelie?
ReplyDeleteNot a big deal for me. One name in my head would be Héctor Baldassi
DeleteI see it a lot in Spain, particularly the Non- FIFA referees like gonzalez fuertes and melero Lopez. I agree that’s it’s not very common amongst FIFA referees
DeleteActually, it's quite common from the Dutch referees to keep both cards in the same pocket. Makkelie used to have YC and RC in different pockets, but recently went with both cards in a black notepad. Not the style I like personally.
DeleteIt was very used too in Spain, but less frequently nowadays.
The way Makkelie pocket his card is my second opinion. I have a “quick” YC in my short , which I used the most. The RC in my chest pocket or back pocket of my short.
DeleteA wallet with two cards in the other chest pocket.
Agree with upstylon. Makkelie changes his “style”
DeleteIIRC Pieter Vink and Baldassi also had the same style, keeping both cards in a notepad.
DeleteAs a Spaniard I can tell that until let's say 5-6 years ago keeping YC+RC+paper in the same pocket à la López Nieto or Rubinos Pérez was a given and done by 70-80% of referees (notepad was rare to see), while international referees used to have YC+paper in one shirt pocket and RC in the other one. Nowadays only a small bunch of LaLiga referees keep the cards that way (Munuera Montero, Melero López, González Fuertes...), but in the last few years I've noticed a massive change to keep the cards separated in shorts pockets.
As a spectator I prefer referees keeping cards in separate pockets because then I can see one second before which colour will be the card, while in Makkelie or 'formerly traditional Spanish style' you can't know until the referee effectively raises the card :D
Solid 2H for Makkelie IMO. Four cards shown in this half, all fully correct. A much better foul detection too. While the 1H wasn't the Dutch's most polished display, I think it was overall a satisfying performance from the refereeing crew.
ReplyDeleteAgree, full acceptance by the players. Good job by the Dutch crew
DeleteVery strong performance of Makkelie and without any problems. Nobody can talk about the referee and that’s good after all was written in the media about this game and the super league. Bravo! Now still candidate for the final.
ReplyDelete2 missed yellow cards in the first half. Boring game with no special moments. 8.2 performance because of the 2 missed cards.
DeleteIMO no mandatory cards missed so 8.4 performance :)
DeleteDanny Makkelie 🙌 refereed that so well, difficult conditions, rain, pace, but always in control, calm and decisive, no need for VAR. Players know officials at this stage like Makkelie are truly elite, so more respect, fewer stunts.
ReplyDeleteEl árbitro, perfecto. Cuando se habla solo de fútbol es más fácil.
ReplyDeleteAccording to Movistar+ analyst Roberto Carlos
DeleteSoy arbitro out Colombia. Like style Makkelie mucho good. Tranquilo, confiado y con personalidad. En la television spoke want Makkelie en Conmebol. Arbitro la final de la Champions League es lo que predicen. Sorry por mi ingles.
ReplyDeleteI like the approach of Makkelie this evening. And what a respect he had from the players and technical area. Nobody will speak about the referee team. I am curious what will happen if Real Madrid will reach the final? The football world expect Makkelie?
ReplyDeleteGood game by Makkelie
ReplyDeleteVery bad Makkelie in Real-Chelsea.
DeleteOT: DFB has published an article on Siebert's EURO nomination with some interesting information:
ReplyDelete- He was informed only at the same time like us by seeing a media report on the EURO selection (on his way to a Bundesliga match that evening, where Seidel was AR2 and Foltyn AVAR)
- He didn't even know, that he was considered, but was only aiming for promotion to Elite. He was told before the EL QF, that this would be an important match for him, but thought that was only related to a possible promotion. Apparently he got a very good assessment on the game and that decided his EURO selection
- He will become a father in summer, probably during the tournament, so he would miss the birth

DeleteThat was probably the moment when UEFA realized that Marciniak health issues will prevent him from going to Euro and they decided to consider Siebert.
DeleteI was diagnosed of herpes virus, I have tried all possible means to get cure but all my effort proved abortive, until a friend of mine introduced me to a herbal doctor called Chief Dr Lucky, who prepare herbal medicine to cure all kind of diseases including herpes virus (Herpes), when i contacted this herbal doctor via his email, he sent me herpes virus herbal medicine via courier service, when i received the herbal medicine he gave me step by step instructions on how to apply it, when i applied it as instructed i was totally cured from the virus within 3 weeks of usage. Contact this great herbal doctor today to get your cure.
