ReplyDeleteNot impressed with Karaoglan in Mainz - Man City. Foul detection is sub-par. Penalty looks like a wrong decision to me. Man City captain played the ball - slight contact with trailing leg afterwards, but not enough for a penalty imo.

DeleteHere the penalty call. Defender with tackle barely touched the ball, I think more effects on attacker. In case of NO PENALTY, very likely NO VAR interventions, but penalty can be justified for some reasons. Also, very complicated incidents to assess, trying to understand how much ball was played...
I would say no penalty as well. Of course, remark on no VAR intervention is only hypothetical because VAR technology was not used in these matches.
