  1. YC invented by Dingert involving Vagnoman and the Bielefeld goal. It was an accidental collision, with no arm extended to attack the opposing goalkeeper. As you are used to VAR, there is nothing surprising in this error in the German Cup final. lol

  2. OT: Suppouse that Leganes Valladolid was the last match in LaLiga for,for me, the best and most consistent Spanish referee in last years, Cesar Soto Grado. Congrats to remarkable carrer that he have. Hope he will stay to work with future generations of referees. He have a lot to tell about
    Cheers!

  3. Good and expected level performance by Bastien in a one-sided Coupe de France final. Nothing much to say, very easy game (no card issued).

  5. There is a news in Belarus, that former UEFA elite category referee Aleksei Kulbakov, who ended his refereeing career last year, successfully completed a course in Nice, France and was included into the list of international referee observers

  8. Busy few days for Thomas Bramall. Two red cards on Tuesday refereeing Man City Vs Bournemouth, and now another today sending off Emi Martinez. All 3 correct imo.

    1. Controversy surrounding possible Villa goal ruled out and can't be checked by VAR due to the whistle having been blown.

Referee was completely correct in LOTG. Ball was between the hands of the gk so he is judged to have been in control of it

    2. Yeah he should have waited and then let VAR decide. Shame as most of his other big decisions the last few days have been correct including the penalty just give.

  10. Gozubuyuk is not performing well in the first half of the playoff final for European football between AZ and FC Twente. He awarded a controversial penalty to Twente after their attacker appeared to trip over his own feet and strange enough that VAR Van Boekel didn’t intervene. Later, Van Boekel did advise a review for a tackle from behind, with studs and excessive force to the calf. Yet even after watching the footage at the monitor, Gozubuyuk stuck with his initial decision of a yellow card. Both key decisions favoured FC Twente and no one on television can understand either one. Hopefully he does a better job in the second half.

    1. This week, Gözübüyük gave an interview in De Telegraaf in which he stated that Kuipers is his biggest idol. He said he learned a lot from him during the time he frequently served as fourth official in Kuipers’ matches, and that he has the utmost respect for him, especially because Kuipers is now part of the referee committee, making his advice extremely valuable and impossible to ignore. Gözübüyük also mentioned that he has adopted Kuipers’ style of refereeing, which, according to him, has made him a much better referee.

    2. ''no one on television can understand either one.'' This is fake news. On TV they understand this decision. Source: https://www.vi.nl/nieuws/van-wolfswinkel-ontsnapt-in-begin-van-seizoen-was-dit-eerder-rood-geweest

    3. That’s a red card for me. A challenge from behind, with studs and force and no chance of playing the ball. The AZ player had to be substituted after this tackle and returned to the pitch with a nasty graze from the studs on his calf.

    4. Not true, Hans. What the analyst said was that at the beginning of the season, these tackles were given as red cards. But more and more referees are starting to compromise and don’t dare to be unpopular.

    5. I have a TV myself and the article says exactly what they said. That was: " At the beginning of the season it was red because then the referees are stricter but I think dark yellow was correct "

So please stop spreading fake news

    6. Am I the only one who doesn’t give a sh*t about what they say on television? Makes more sense to discuss the actual decision right?
For me because of the high contact, studs-up and sufficient force to flip the ankle I’d say this is a Sfp sending off.
