    As it was asked by somebody on the blog, here some clips about Eskas performance in Georgia - Bulgaria.

    The Norwegian started his game with a penalty appeal in the 2' minute:

    Live, it looked like a clear foul, but replay showed that referee had his arguments to play on. He was very close to the incident. Correct NO VAR intervention. For the contact between player I think that a penalty call would have been supported by Storks, German VAR in operation, but this was best decision.

    Then, about full first half we can say that he had a very lenient approach and he avoided to issue any single YC, having some chances to do that.

    40' Maybe the most interesting incident of first half, no reaction by referee, I think he didn't assess it as foul, for me clear YC for the challenge with trailing leg, for me reckless, not even advantage signal shown.

    The cards started to be issued in second half.

    53' Mandatory YC for reckless challenge, trying to kick ball, hitting opponent.

    67' YC for SPA, not genuine foul, deliberately stopping a counterattack, supportable decision. We still see very often in such incidents that YC is very likely if the action is targeted only on the opponent, given that one could still discuss whether a clear SPA or not.

    On the other hand, a few minutes later (74') an extremely clear YC for SPA, repeated attempt to stop a very quick action. Not issuing this YC would have been obvious mistake.

    In 82' a penalty area incident, I think correct to play on, replay suggests that attacker put leg and the contact in case is not a clear foul by defender who did almost nothing.

    Finally, in 90'+3 a challenge that I would have liked to rewatch but boradcaster didn't agree - no replay, for what it looked like to be a reckless challenge, at least. However in this case, without evidence, one must back referee.

    I think that this game was of quite challenging difficulty, considering as factors for that the full attendance (full sold out in Tibilisi and very nice atmosphere), the nature of play and a few pnalty area incidents, especially the first one. Referee did well for sure, he had full control, trying to let game when possible. This seems to be his style as I watched him already in past. Maybe we can discuss about 1 or 2 cards to be issued (1 for sure in my opinion), but as you know, nowadays doesn't seem to be a quite relevant argument as some years ago. Most blatant missed YC is the one in 40', I think. The evidence for 90'+3 is missing. Added time was well managed with 5 minutes in secone half. Mayube, as final remark, showing sometimes the nature of some decisions with gestures, and allowing players to understand that referee is mentally in the game, would be a quite good thing. The most important thing is the communication, in which very often Moen failed, I think there are indeed some aspects, about Norwegian school, that are similar to referees, they don't use to make so much interaction with both players and spectators (by gestures), in international level would be expected,. But as long as no problems happen and you take good / OK decisions...

      He's only 33 y.o, is there any chance for him to get promoted? Or at least get a big game next season or be a "regular" UEL/UECL referee maybe?
