Correct YC for SPA
ReplyDeleteClip YC 9': https://streamable.com/0f9q8r
DeleteEarly and good YC. Clearly a SPA
ReplyDeleteIt's not usual to see him hand out those cards in the local league.
ReplyDeletePotential yc missed
ReplyDeleteClip: https://streamable.com/hdg1bl
DeleteIf he gave a YC for SPA earlier on, then surprised this wasn’t given. Clear shirt hold and no intention of playing the ball. The biggest change was the position on field side vs central plus being so far wide, so perhaps this may justify the non-decision.
DeleteMissed YC for tactical/SPA in 15
ReplyDeleteMissed YC for QAT no. 14?
ReplyDeleteAfter a fantasic start, he lets himself down badly with no YC on 14” minute. Really really poor, was clearly mandatory player was advancing down the touch line into the area.
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised
DeleteIt may have been 'smart' to balance, but he indicated it was going towards the corner, which is true, and in line with how any non-100% SPA has been dealt with in this tournament, no card is absolutely fine
DeleteThe problem is that the QAT team's complaints are starting and it could turn into a very complicated match.
DeleteYes, agree with you here DB
DeleteNormal foul. The player comes in diretion of the side line. Also we are in the beggining of the game. Correct "No YC".
ReplyDeleteAgree
DeleteYes, I just think the previous YC for SPA so early in the game showed that he wasn’t so concerned about keeping his cards in his pocket early
DeleteI am surprised that on this WC, some people appears on this blog only to say the worst possible of same referees.
ReplyDeleteFeel like this happens every major tournament here. If they ref gives less than 10 YCs they were terrible.
DeleteClear RC DOGSO without playing the ball

DeleteSoft PK i think...
ReplyDeleteCorrect PK and YC
ReplyDeleteOk. Not correct, but really hard to spot live. Good VAR intervention to overturn it to free kick and RC
DeletePK but for me RC
ReplyDeleteoh it's outside good job by VAR
ReplyDeleteSeems a 50/50 situation. And good english from Garay
ReplyDeleteThis is what we have been asking for +1
DeleteShame that the audio seemed to be breaking up as he spoke but much better English and clearly spoken too
Good job by VAR but again bad announcement. Correct decision by the team but IMO you could have argued if penalty then RC too
ReplyDeleteAgree for me either PK or FK is a RC if you consider that there is a foul
DeleteYesterday Ghana Panama no PK and here softest foul possible RC...
ReplyDeleteI don't see any contact on the legs, just a slight push, for me never a penalty or red card. Bizarre to review the location of the foul but not review the decision itself.
ReplyDeleteBlatant contact on the legs.
DeleteYes the contact is definitely there, the QAT defender clearly make contact with his foot on the back of CAN att causing his legs to collide leading to the trip
DeleteSuper soft foul. Almost nothing and never enough for a foul and rc
ReplyDeleteMaybe you missed the blatant trip on the legs…
DeleteA very difficult play; the commentators have many doubts about the foul, but it is known that at speed any touch, however slight, can cause the striker to fall.
ReplyDelete2nd YC missed for simulation ?
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't simulation
DeleteRef is losing control
ReplyDeleteExcellent no penalty decision in 43'
ReplyDeleteClip: https://streamable.com/g863zn
DeleteYep, good penalty no call.
DeleteGaray really struggling to control this match
ReplyDelete44' Spot on no penalty, the Canada attacker kicked the defender. We also see the big plus of the UEFA and many European leagues 'Only the Captain' rule. This constant mobbing and dissenting just being ignored is not a good look for the game
ReplyDeleteTerrible to see that there nothing is done to avoid dissent situations, really clear tonight with Qatar players, terrible message to not give any sanctions for this.
DeleteUnfortunately, does not apply in the local league
DeleteThis is a big thing is Asia to be honest, see plenty of this during Asian competitions.
DeleteThat's what we see on weekends; they prefer to talk, calm things down, and let the game continue. Basically, it's about not making a fuss.
DeleteEventful first half for Garay, but he handled it well. VAR intervention was on the edge, really hard to spot live.
ReplyDeleteAgree, I thought there was a contact in the penalty area but hard to pick up that contact with the legs outside the penalty area.
DeletePoor first half from Garay, has not dealt well with Qatari mobbing and off the ball fouls ,needs to treat both teams the same ,maybe Collina has told him to be careful because Qatar Airways provide Infantino's transport
ReplyDeleteYes Qatari mobbing issue but don’t think it makes it poor first half. Off the ball fouls?
DeleteOMG
ReplyDeleteA few yellow cards for Canada needed there. Careless tackle and a complete unlucky accident
ReplyDeleteSounds like it's a broken leg player now sent off
ReplyDeleteCorrect YC i guess, terrible picture there, clearly put in danger the opponent
ReplyDeleteRC*
DeleteWas the red card actually shown?
ReplyDeleteYes it was on the wide shot of the scene on my broadcast
DeleteYup
DeleteAnother RC.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone got a video? No replay here and no way to rewind on the rubbish ITVX. It looked reckless at absolute most. I get the Canada players are upset their teammate is injured but it wasn’t a nasty challenge
ReplyDeleteIs this according to protocol? Shouldn't the referee review the foul on the monitor before giving RC?
ReplyDelete
