ReplyDeleteNot one referee of East Europe.
Bit surprised that Bjorn Kuipers still doesn't appear anywhere... I assume he is yet to appear for his fitness test...
ReplyDeleteImportant appointments for Orsato and Taylor. And with important observers.
ReplyDeleteNo sign of Kuipers yet but it is understandable since he didn't pass the fitness test.
I expected a better match for Soares Dias.
I got some update that Kuipers didn't yet appear for the fitness test when these appointments were made 2 weeks ago!!
DeleteI don't understand the situation of Orsato. Let's remember he had to attend the FIFA seminar for VAR specilists, Irrati and Valeri are there, but it seems as Orsato has missed it (appointed in serie A on Sunday evening and then now on Thursday for this game).
ReplyDeleteI got the impression that he is nowe treated differently by FIFA, not as VAR, but maybe as fourth official or even referee on the pitch. In addition, he got both appointments (Inter - Napoli and Zenit - Leipzig) with his preselected assistant referees. We will see, however for me Rocchi is sure as main referee.
I expected Kuipers as well, as warm-up for a possible CL quarterfinal appointment, now I think he should get the CL quarterfinal without a previous game.
For the rest, normal appointments with some referees getting their second game: Taylor, Gil Manzano and so on. Very important observer, committee member, for Stieler.
Jonas Eriksson with a top clash, but in Europa League and already quite decided in favor of English side, however still a good appointment for the Swedish.
No Karasev at all: that's a very bad signal for the Russian, if you ask me. Now even more difficult to see him in a CL game on next stages.
Karasev is blatantly out of favour... Seeing these appointments, Jonas Eriksson might still be wondering what Karasev did better than him to get a World Cup call up...
DeleteAnother name missing from the set is Viktor Kassai..
I think Karasev will be treated the same as Lannoy in 2010, directly to a CL QF and nothing else.
DeleteIf Shaktar Donetsk qualifies for CL QF, I can imagine him... Other than that it's really to see him get a game with the other teams!!
DeleteActually, if Shakhtar qualifies, he definitely won`t be referee in that match. It is impossible in current political situation that Russian can be a referee in a match with Ukrainian team.
DeleteAgain, I must remember that UEFA wont appoint a Russian referee for an Ukrainian team...
DeleteYes right... I again and again forget that Ukrainian clubs cannot have refs from Russia... To be honest I just can see any place for Karasev in the QFs of UCL...

Good game for Vincic... Can we have one separate posts for the friendly matches, Chefren?? It's really difficult to keep track with so many appointments shared across so many posts :)
DeleteYes, indeed the post about friendlies will be published soon.
DeleteSoares Dias awarded Atletico Madrid a penalty at around 64'... Can someone please manage a video??
ReplyDeletehttps://streamable.com/tylhb
Delete3:24
Seems very much the right call to me... Well done by Soares Dias!!
DeleteTaylor in Bilbao, so far two good verbal (public) warnings and then a YC for dissent (and IFK, well done for stopping the play!) to Aduriz that was delivered in a fantastic way- big authority on the pitch.
ReplyDeleteVery firm by the English, I really like his development and approach in the last months.
Penalty for Marseille now whistled by Taylor but almost certainly recommended by AAR2 Attwell.
DeleteI have some doubts to be honest, I'll try to find a video.
Seems a very harsh call by AAR2 Attwell there!!
DeleteNot penalty. Marseille better but
DeleteTaylor wrong.
Taylor was unsighted there, didn't have the best positioning to make the call... The call for a penalty was made by AAR2 Stuart Attwell in the main!!
DeleteHe was in a near perfect position, just bad luck that his perception was blocked.
DeletePersonally I am missing the contact that caused a fall, but I could imagine Attwell's decision being acceptable for Deaconu.
Got a huge chunk of the ball and as you said the contact that caused the fall is still very difficult to spot... Might be touch and go for Taylor and Attwell, I can imagine observers marking it as wrong but at the same time they may get benefit of doubt!!
DeleteCorrect YC for SPA by Orsato in Zenit - RB. Player was not in control of the ball and it was almost impossible to reach it. Protests from home-team player for a possible RC, but he was right.
ReplyDeleteIn the same minute (24'), in Kyiv Gil Manzano with a correctly rejected penalty appeal by Lazio. Nothing significant to whistle.
36' - Penalty awarded by Taylor to Marseille... He was initially not interested at all and nearly waved it away but I would assume the AAR made some inputs to change his mind!!
ReplyDeleteLook where AAR stands! What was he doing at the edge of PK area? Very bad positioning IMO.
Delete42:00 in Dynamo Kyiv - Lazio, save by Dynamo's keeper very likely outside the box. He had his feet and body inside the box but arms and hands outside. Almost impossible for the referee, however, here stuff only for AR2, but he had to make something like a super call.
ReplyDeleteMany protest by Lazio.
That's sad, because it could be a crucial mistake, but very difficult to spot.
DeleteSaw a still image in Twitter just a while ago... Very, very tough call for any referee bordering on impossible I also think!!
Deletehttps://youtu.be/Ei4vjM9M0FA
ReplyDeletePenalty whistled in Bilbao ^
Some doubts, at least not a clear penalty I would say. I have the impression that defender played the ball. Penalty clearly suggested by AAR2, Taylor had also a player in his line of vision when the incident occurred.
DeleteHere they showed another zoomed in footage of the penalty incident and quite clearly the defender got a huge chunk of the ball... I think that shouldn't have been a penalty!!
DeleteMissing 2YC->RC to Williams, Taylor still could have seen it, but absolutely in the vicinity of AAR2 Attwell. Even SFP is a question there.
DeleteAthletic's irritation could make the closing stages in Bilbao somewhat challenging.
Now, clear YC missed by Attwell in front of him. Should be Bilbao’s player second Yellow card. Impossible to see for Taylor. Bad lack of help here.
ReplyDelete76' : Adurriz of Athletic Bilbao sent off for a 2nd YC offence by Taylor!!
ReplyDeleteI think there's a very very very slight contact...but IMO enough when attacker is sprinting.
DeleteSecond card not by offence.
Yeah Soham. But seems to be a very harsh decision...more simulation than clear foul...
ReplyDeleteThe referee can be backed IMO
Delete81': penalty to Lipsia, crucial decision by Orsato.
ReplyDeleteCorrect one?
DeleteI didn't watch the incident, however after the save by keeper, a player was fouled by another opponent and here another penalty should have followed, for me crucial mistake. Waiting for the first one assessment...
DeleteThe first penalty was fully correct. Replay of the second penalty shout to be rewatched carefully. A very challenging game for Orsato and - apart the penalty incident after the saved penalty - he was perfect!
DeletePenalty to Sporting by Stieler, maybe in cooperation with AAR2: to be honest I have some doubts here. It looks like a soft call.
ReplyDeleteAlso doubts about if in the case of being a penalty, YC or RC. Stieler issued YC-
Deleteis a normal contact between the two players.
DeleteVery good decision. The defender clearly trips his legs. But it is a red card not yellow.
DeleteBig mistake by Stieler in Pizen. In minute 90 ', penalty very wrong to Sporting.
ReplyDeleteThis isn't first time for him this year in Europe. He made very crucial mistake in Crvena Zvezda-Krasnodar knockout game in Belgrade, whistling PK in favor of Krasnodar somewhere arround 80'. Krasnodar scored, but luckilly didn't manage to score equalizing goal and Zvezda passed through. Also, there were in total 10 minutes of added time (4 minutes + 6 minutes) for nothing (the most 1 + 4 minutes). I remember his PK mistake in Bundesliga, when VAR corrected him. Obviously he is not referee that one can rely on.
DeleteIt’s a great decision what are you talking about? Did you even look at the legs?
DeleteEriksson again with Johannesson as AAR1 and Ekberg as AAR2 when the information about the match said it was supose to be the other way around
ReplyDeleteIt seems as committee has no problem in accepting that.
DeleteIs Jair Marrufo going to the world cup as VAR or as main referee? Saw information about that 4 assistant referees from MLS had past the fitness test on the FIFA course in Dubai
ReplyDeleteAccording to the last update, it seems he has been included among main referees, but better wait for the official announcement by FIFA.
DeleteYeah it better to wait, but it’s seems likes it’s clear that he is going as main when all 4 assitants were pictured after the tests.
DeleteBased on first 15 minutes, Salzburg-Dortmund will be very nervous and difficult, great match to gain experience for Bastien, but I think that experienced elite referee like Rocchi or Mazic would be better choice.
ReplyDeleteWTF is Eriksson doing?
ReplyDeleteThat penalty on Welbeck o_O
ReplyDeleteEriksson arwaded penalty after long comunication with AAR1, Johannesson definetly took the decision. Penalty can be discussed.
ReplyDeleteWrong penalty call by AAR1 Johannesson, definitely nothing there.
ReplyDeleteI'm really sorry but in every Eriksson's game there is a crucial mistake. To add, I rarely see Eriksson deciding by himself about crucial incidents, he seems to rely too much on his teammates.
Ridicolous penalty awarded to Arsenal. Awful mistake by AAR1, Eriksson hadn’t whistled. Maybe (and only maybe) there was a soft touch and Wellbeck fell like he had been shot. I hope that mr Ceferin will change his mind about VAR
DeleteAwful decision. Eriksson wouldn't have called it, IMO.
DeleteYou’re right Ray and for me this makes the error even bigger.
DeleteI think that Johannesson wasn’t sure himself if it was a clear penalty because first Eriksson doen nothing, the he puts his whistle to his mouth and i ready to blow and point to the spot but the he takes out the whistle waits for a second and the puts the whistle to his mouth and blows
DeleteNow a handball in Arsenal penalty area. Play on by Eriksson. I don't know, to be honest, whether he saw the incident at all.
ReplyDeleteI think that Ekberg saw it, but for me no penalty the ball takes a deflection and changes direction to close to the body
DeleteFor me no penalty can be supported. The ball touched other parts of the body
DeleteWhich deflection?
DeleteDistance is not short, defender had time to react, arm isn't in natural position IMO.
Penalty for Arsenal.
ReplyDeleteDisaster for AAR1 Johannesson, and hardly convincing presentation by Eriksson. Total crucial mistake. AAR1 Vs AAR2 looks more relevant now...
Eriksson is rather struggling too control the match now. Ever since EL Final I never saw the great Swedish, and I think his career will end without him at the top of UEFA refereeing. A shame for an excellent personality on the pitch :-(
Not struggling at all in control but that was clear simulation and right after Arsenal made a clear case of handling and Milan should have had a penalty.
DeleteYeah he managed the hot minutes well, as I was typing he was (again) surrounded by Milan players, but his control was even very good he solved the hot moments well, just that penalty...
DeleteFor the past couple of seasons, crucial mistakes in every game has gone on to cost him... Personality and control wise he has been usually good!!
DeleteThe penalties hissed by Eriksson and Stieler certainly will not appear in the next RAP, such nonsense of both.
ReplyDeleteLet me say, I watch every week end all serie A games with VAR. Sometimes there are big discussions and controversial decisions, but a situation like this would be perfectly solved by technology. This is more simulation than foul. Now, I'm really sorry, but I can't imagine this kind of football. UEFA can't go on in this way, definitely. Let's see: VAR has made the football better, even for referees. Additional assistant referees are outdated. My opinion.
ReplyDeleteIn Portugal we also have VAR. Here the VAR is much less interventive than in Italy and despite several misconceptions (the referee with VAR functions has to have some specific skills...), i have no doubt that it is the future.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
Delete"The penalty"
ReplyDeletehttps://www.clippituser.tv/c/yrkkan
National associations will eventually force UEFA to join the VAR.
For me, on this level of competition - INCREDIBLE MISTAKE. Almost amateurish decision. The way Welbeck fell was so clear that there was no contact, or very veeery small one.
DeleteNow a very soft contact in Arsenal area. Never penalty, but surely more than the other ;)
ReplyDeleteLyon 1-1 was irregular, ball was not in play.
ReplyDeleteRight in front of AAR2...
DeleteWhat happened?
DeleteThe ball was out, AR2 and AAR2 missed the goal kick.
DeleteLooks out but from that camera angle you can’t be 100000% sure.
DeleteIt was out by no means, and everything occur 1 metar from AAR literally. Big and cleaf mistake. See second video on lnk below.
Deletehttps://www.flashscore.com/match/C8LORdVh/#video
I agree with Victor: At the moment, when the video is freezed, it is not clear, that the ball is out. Remember, that it does not need to touch the line to still be in play.
DeletePenalty whistled by Stieler. Not at all a foul, Dost seeks the contact himself and simply falls down. Interesting card selection though by Stieler: did he assume that there was a genuine attempt to play the ball while whistling?
ReplyDeletehttps://streamable.com/d50uu
Great decision. What are you talking about? Clearly trips his legs. Should have been a red card, no attempt to play the ball. Unbelievable that you say no foul.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteFor me no foul, and in case of foul clearly a RC. DOGSO, this was not a genuine attempt to play the ball. The only reason for YC, trying to understand Stieler choice, is that he thought the player was unable to control the ball, but this was due to the challenge with opponent, otherwise he would have presented himself alone against keeper.
DeleteSo we could even say "double mistake". I think that AA2 was involved.
For me, it's a penalty.
DeleteJust watch slow motion from different angles. No tripping, no penalty. Attacker stood on the ball and lost balance, used body and leg contact (but no tripping) to fell. That's the way I see it.
DeleteNot a clear situation IMO. Yes, the attacker stood on the ball, but to me it seems more likely that he falls due to the leg contact. And I think, that can be interpreted as tripping. Therefore Stieler might be backed, although I agree that there are also arguments for no penalty.
DeleteAbout YC/RC: With a wide interpretation of the YC condition, you could say, it is a challenge for the ball and not a pure attempt to stop the opponent. In the sense of the LotG, YC might be supportable, by the letter it probably should be RC.
Teo. The defender clearly puts his leg in the path of the attacker and of course that will make him fall. My opinion but it’s extremely clear to me on replay.
DeleteSolid Bastien in an overall easy game between Salzburg und Dortmund. Sometimes not really uniform in his foul detection, some whistles very late and so not really convincing, one questionable YC, but all in all not a topic of discussions, full acceptance and control and a good total picture. (8.2-8.3)
ReplyDeleteI know it's not most important thing but I think that Milan player deliberatly tripped Eriksson.
ReplyDeleteThere was a move with a left leg, player saw Eriksson coming to him, he had an option to let him pass.
Last international game for Eriksson.
ReplyDeleteEriksson was one great referee and he merits
Deleteconsideration.
Why last game for Eriksson?? Has he announced retirement??
DeleteFor the good of the game he should of he hasn't. That or the referee committee should just give him the coup de grâce and put him out of his misery.

https://streamable.com/kb8gi
Good teamwork with AAR1 regarding deliberate handling
https://streamable.com/0d9my
70': definitely nothing there, correct to play on
Delete73': not a deliberate handball, correct decision
81': clear foul and penalty but indeed your question is relevant and I'm in trouble, I think it was DOGSO and not a genuine attempt to play the ball because player did not make any clear gesture to show that he wanted to do that, at the end the resulting challenge seems only targeted on the opponent. For me RC, and so maybe a mistake by Orsato, but one can surely discuss. Your view about that?
82': Yesterday I said clear penalty after having watched the live scene, now I think that the reason for the NO CALL was that Orsato thought that attacker went deliberately against the opponent to get another penalty. Maybe a supportable call there, but another penalty wouldn't have been wrong, I think...
90'+1: Normal contact, no foul.
24': Clear SPA due to the position of the ball.
1': Zenit player in any case is the most (and the only, to be honest) responsible for this challenge. Leipzig player had not any perception of the opponent when he came with that raised leg, very dangerous for both him and the opponent. Correct call by Orsato.
61': advantage was a good choice because home-team remained in possession of the ball from a better attacking position, YC of course correct.
34': Clearly, a deliberate handball. Good decision.
Thank you :-) !
DeleteI find all calls at least supportable.
My views:
Delete81' - reckless SPA; by the book it's not a genuine attempt to play the ball, but it's also difficult to say it was a typical 'unsporting' foul; my feeling is that the YC is a preferable call, but the RC wouldn't be so wrong, too
82' - foul and penalty in my eyes; the Zenit player falls down in order to prevent an opponent reaching the ball and he doesn't play the ball at all, the ball is played by the Leipzig player and then the contact occurs; difficult to decide live, though
I agree with that.
Delete81' can be interpreted in different ways, but because it is on the borderline between SPA and DOGSO and on the borderline between attempt and no attempt to play the ball, RC would be harsh.
And 82' is a penalty for me, because of the same reasons
Champions League Quarter final draw :
ReplyDeleteBarcelona v Roma
Sevilla v Bayern Munich
Juventus v Real Madrid
Liverpool v Manchester City
Let's begin the referee predictions!!
CL quarterfinals:
ReplyDeleteBarcelona - Roma
Juventus - Real Madrid
Sevilla - Bayern
Liverpool - Manchester City
I will write soon my prediction, one thing seems already sure, Mateu Lahoz with the English derby, maybe first leg.
My predictions :
ReplyDeleteBarcelona v Roma : Turpin / Brych
Sevilla v Bayern Munich : Rocchi / Skomina
Juventus v Real Madrid : Mazic / Kuipers
Liverpool v Manchester City : Mateu Lahoz / Cakir
DeleteRocchi must be in EL
If Rocchi, Skomina all are appointed in EL then who will do the CL games?? We have not many names there!!
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI tried to find other solutions but I must admit that, apart from the names you both mentioned, there shouldn't be other options if not Hațegan. But I'm not sure about a possible appointment for him in qaurterfinals.
ReplyDeleteSo, despite of the fact that Brych got already two games in Round of 16, it seems as he will be forced to appear again in quarterfinals (and maybe after that also in semifinal).
Not so many options is not a good thing for committee, surely Marciniak was a candidate there, but now he must be replaced.
So:
Barcelona - Roma: Kuipers / Turpin
Sevilla - Bayern: Rocchi / Skomina
Juventus - Real Madrid: Mazic / Cakir
Liverpool - Manchester City: Mateu Lahoz /Brych (Hațegan?)
IMO, Kuipers will miss out on the CL knock-out stage. He comes back after an injury and it perhaps will be more safe to keep him to EL games.
DeleteMaybe Undiano Mallenco for the English clash as a reward for good performance in the previous round?
This comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteIn case of Kuipers absence, even more difficult there to find some names.
DeleteKassai was injured for about 2.5 months last season but did appear in EL Roma v Lyon followed by a CL quarter final Real Madrid v Bayern Munich... So not totally impossible for an injured referee to appear in KO stage provided he is fully fit... Brych was injured during the time of the UCL group stages but made a straigt return to CL after injury... I personally would always say that since this is knockout stage a referee should be eased back with EL but at that the same time I don't think it makes a lot of a difference for the experienced, big name referees!!
Delete
DeleteSkomina to EL
Very likely to see Skomina in EL if he's decided for CL final... But the problem is with so many names in doubt it is becoming really difficult to find names for the 8 QF games with not a lot of refrees in good form at the moment!!
DeleteReally difficult, committee could appoint again the same referee for two quarterfinal games...
DeleteMy predictions:
DeleteBarcelona - Roma: BRYCH F. / COLLUM W.
Sevilla - Bayern: KASSAI V. / MAKKELIE D.
Juventus - Real Madrid: KUIPERS B. / MAZIC. M.
Liverpool - Manchester City: UNDIANO MALLENCO A. / ROCCHI G.
EL:
LAZIO-SALISBURGO: SIDIROPOLUS T. / ZWAYER F.
LIPSIA MARSIGLIA: KRALOVEC P. / KARASEV S.
ARSENAL-CSKA MOSCA: MATEU LAHOZ A. / ORSATO D.
ATL. MADRID-SP. LISBONA: SKOMINA D. / HATEGAN O.
As most of you said, there are no many options: I think that Eriksson, Marciniak and Taylor are out for the crucial mistakes recently done. F. Borbalan, Aytekin and of course Atkinson are forgotten; for Oliver maybe is too early.
I would send Cakir and Turpin directly to CL SF protecting them for any possible trouble, hoping to assign then Rocchi and Kuipers. Mateu could be a safe option for EL SF on case of Atletico elimination
Skomina in El of course to send him at CL final
DeleteI am not sure that Skomina is too dominant in last years and that he should get EL and CL final two times in a row. Plenty of time for him for the biggest final. He is 41. Who will officiate next years CL final in that case? Again Kuipers, Cakir? Rocchi is possible, but is he on that level - he was in shadow of Rizzoli for a very long time?!
DeleteThis can be an argument, in my opinion not the first option but surely something about one can discuss. Indeed, trying to find some candidates for CL final at moment we have only these two referees (Skomina and Mazic) from neutral countries. All the other options (we could mention Rocchi and Mateu as example) are from countries that could have a club in final. So, reasoning in this way, if committee wants to do that, they should always try to keep a totally "neutral" candidate for each CL final edition. If you appoint Skomina now, Mazic will be surely out forever, since this is his last season. In case of appointment for the Serbian, the Slovenian could be planned for 2019. Of course we must say that these are very long-term discussions and committee should not think in this way, because a year is a very long time and everything can happen. However, in past we had Rizzoli in a similar situation: he got CL final not in his best season, but committee decided to appoint him because he overall "deserved" that for the whole career. Now it could be the same for Mazic, but let me make clear that this is only an argument and I'm not writing in order to wish that. My first wish is that committee may have, for every season, more than one candidate for this very important game, based on performances.
DeleteWhat is already known at moment is only that the Serbian is at his last opportunity. We will see.
After seeing Oliver in Beşiktaş v Bayern Munich, I think UEFA can well try him out in an EL QF... The kind of games they manage in England (Liverpool v Manchester City for example is a CL QF standard match) on a weekly basis, a medium-profile EL QF shouldn't be any problem for Oliver (or even Taylor on his day)... I think Lazio v Salzburg might be a good game for Oliver!!
DeleteI think it is too early to predict refs for the return leg. Surely it will depend on the results of first matches. Moreover, Committee has to think about candidates for semifinals and finals, both for CL and EL. They shouldn't use all 4 refs (are there going to be 4?) for the semis in quarterfinals IMO. Some of them will go to EL 1/4, I think.
ReplyDeleteSo, for me Kuipers is more likely for EL, and then 1/2 final in Cl. Brych could take a rest. Hategan should find his place, maybe in the match already almost decided (if there is one - e.g. Barcelona-Roma). Safe bet is Mateu Lahoz for English derby, because there are no other options. Mallenco could be in the second match - no matter he is also from Spain - I could imagine that. I expect Turpin in CL 1/4. Mazic, if the predictions are correct about potential final for him (CL or EL) should whistle 1st leg game - a priori they are with less tension, but that's not the rule of course. I wouldn't send him to Turin. Who is second candidate for the final? Collum is also good option for 174 final - in Sevilla or more likely in Munich.
You have to find 8 refs for EL, too, but you don't have many options there. At least two of top 10 refs should be there. Ericsson is out, Marciniak likely so, but I expect him in El. Oliver, Makkeli are safe ones. I expect Karasev, too, as well as Orsato. Kralovec? Kassai?
Referees who will be getting CL SF games may well get CL QF games (e.g. : Kuipers in last season) so there is no reason why names like Cakir cannot get a QF and SF in CL this time!!
DeleteSoham, of course they can, but maybe it is good to protect them and save them for the semifinal. What if Cakir or Rocchi make significant, crucial mistake? Then, they will be lost for the semis and it could be the problem, having in mind that several big names struggled in last round and probably lost their place (Eriksson, Marciniak). And UEFA recently lost two big names Rizzoli and Clattenburg, so they have to be smart and not take so many risks. Also, if you put so many pressure on one ref, appointing him both in 1/4 and in 1/2 final, the risk of mistakes grow.
DeleteIf we keep protecting all big names then we can't appoint anyone... Calculated risks has to be taken and more often than not big hitters are expected to have good games... It's not often that names Cakir or Rocchi makes crucial, significant mistakes!!
DeleteOk, we will see what Committee thinks.
DeleteDesignations for friendly matches of the national teams when they will be there?
ReplyDeleteA post will follow soon!
Deletethanks Chefren
DeleteSome names for Europa League Quarterfinals: Kassai, Oliver, Orsato, Zwayer, Makkelie, Karasev, Hategan, Kralovec...
ReplyDeleteEuropa League QF predictions :
DeleteLazio v Salzburg : Oliver / Zwayer
Leipzig v Marseille : Kralovec / Karasev
Arsenal v CSKA Moscow : Sidiropoulous / Hategan
Atlético Madrid v Sporting : Orsato / Makkelie
I could imagine that we see a double appointment (eg Velasco to Dortmund then Manchester), but in case we don't, and all matches are 'live' for second leg:
ReplyDeleteBarcelona - Roma
Turpin / Brych
Sevilla - Bayern
Orsato / Skomina
Juventus - Real Madrid
Çakir / Mazic
Liverpool - Manchester City
Rocchi / Mateu L
Lazio - Salzburg
Kralovec / Collum
Leipzig - Marseille
Kassai / Undiano M
Arsenal - CSKA Moskva
Kuipers / Zwayer
Atletico Madrid - Sporting
Oliver / Makkelie
Any referee getting that double appointment will most likely be out from the semi-finals??
DeleteI don't think necessarily, if there was a chance to send Velasco to a SF in 2016, I am sure RefsCom would have taken it.
DeleteBut it's impossible to say, because it only happened in one particular situation (Velasco best ever form, last season before retirement etc).
Then this time it can happen with the likes of Mazic, Rocchi, Kuipers... All are in their last season before retirement!!

Arsenal - CSKA Moskva: Sidiropoulos / Zwayer
Atletico Madrid - Sporting: Kralovec / Marciniak
ReplyDeleteNot Skomina, not Rocchi.
I can´t your comment understand. The best match must with best referee. ;)
DeleteAlberto is most probably suggesting that Skomina and Rocchi will be appointed in the EL and hence won't appear in the CL for the next round...

ReplyDeleteFenerbahce - Galatasaray
BÜLENT YILDIRIM(Referee)
EKREM KAN(Assistant Referee)
KEMAL YILMAZ(Assistant Referee)
ÜMİT ÖZTÜRK(Fourth Official)
Interesting appointment for the hot Turkish derby.
DeleteCakir busy with WC seminar, but of course he was not forced to officiate this game.
Not that interesting considering he has officiates this game a total of 10 times in the past :)
DeleteWell, "only" 5 YC in a 0-0 game is something very surprising for this match!
DeleteFenerbahce is very strong in the central referee committee. Whomever Fenerbahçe wills, he is always appoinment.

Delete@chefren could the post of designations for friendly matches be published today or tomorrow?
ReplyDeleteYes, tomorrow!
DeleteThaks Chefren
Delete@chefren you know or can you tell me and tell me some designations of some friendly match for some Italian referee I do not know type Rocchi, Orsato
ReplyDeleteAll referees attending World Cup (both main referees and VAR) can't be appointed in friendly games involving national teams qualified for WC. So far, I have no news about Italian appointments for friendlies, just follow the blog and you will know everything, thank also to our readers.

Thanks, I don't know the assistant referees, I will look for them. International debut for Di Bello, first game ever as FIFA referee on international stage. Maybe Doveri has another friendly as well.
DeleteAnyone following womens refereeing? Can you tell me whats the reputation of serbian ref Ana Minic? She's FIFA ref from 2009, also he'll turn 35 this year.
ReplyDeleteSpal vs Juventus minute 31. Absolutely 100% SFP. Referee gives a yellow and VAR doesn’t intervene. It’s completely insane that they didn’t change it to a red card.
ReplyDeleteI agree, for me SFP. Another potential SFP minute 85' but this time one can accept YC (borderline)), surely excessive force was used there. Massa doesn't show too often RC for SFP in his games.
Delete'Modern refereeing' ;)
DeleteFor me the problem was that VAR didn’t intervene. As a ref we know it can be very difficult to spot SFP without replay.
