    2. I can't download it :( Is there any interesting decision which was maybe debated here without much consensus so now it would be interesting to know how UEFA thinks about it!!

    3. I will download it soon, writing some comments with the most interesting and important situations, don't worry :)

    4. Bayern - Arsenal, handball denying goal, undeliberate - play on (Sidirópoulos and AAR were right)
      https://streamable.com/5x9bh

Barcelona - PSG, handball blocking a pass, undeliberate, play on (Aytekin was right)
      https://streamable.com/yo85i

Juventus - Barcelona, Chiellini's handball, deliberate, penalty + YC (Marciniak was wrong)

    5. So this possibly might be a reason why Marciniak didn't get a UCL SF last time... There was this error and obviously a 4th Juventus goal was wrongly disallowed... This is the reason of only getting EL SF...

    6. First one is Mazic and his AAR1 Grujic. Very difficult decision in Munchen. Glad that UEFA said it was good decision.
Chiellini's handball was considered as deliberate? Hand is in unnatural position, high above the head and therefore it should be a penalty.

      Delete
    7. Yes, Chiellini's handball was considered as deliberate.

P.S. I posted a correction that it was Mazic under a wrong comment. :)

What is the situation with Mateu Lahoz in La Liga?
I read some reports that he is suspended for this season..

    1. It should be a wrong info, he is regularly officiating games.
There were some controversies in his last match, Las Palmas - Barcelona. You can find some comments about that in the previous post.

    2. I read that he is suspended, but not for the rest of the season.

      Delete
    3. I also read one article saying he's suspended because the committee has adjudged that he made three clear errors in the match... Don't know how far true that is!!

    4. Hi is still penciled in for RCD Espanyol de Barcelona - Real Sociedad de Fútbol on 11 March, but, surprisingly, only with Pau Cebrián Devís. Assistant referee #2 will be another FIFA Diego Barbero Sevilla and Roberto Díaz Pérez del Palomar will assist Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea in Sevilla FC - Valencia CF on 10 March.

      Delete
    5. Where have you read so? The only article I've read with the word "suspende" is not what you think it is (Mundo Deportivo). In that article, they write that, in the opinion of Eduardo Iturralde González (who is a former FIFA referee and a football commentator nowadays but holds no responsibility nor belongs to CTA), he made three clear mistakes and thinks that his performance was not good enough. That doesn't mean that Mateu has been nor will be suspended. In Spain, a referee only gets suspended if he makes a technical mistake, which Mateu didn't.

On a personal opinion, I don't think it was that bad. In all situations there are arguments pro and against and the referee can be backed. Iniesta's handball (15') is judged by some as punishable and by others as not (Iturralde himself). IMO, it is punishable, not a natural position of the arm and enlarges surface. Chichizola's (44') comes from a rebound from himself, so for me it is not punishable. However, some argue that the hands are not in a natural position. Then, if a foul was to be given, the color of the card had to be decided. Then, Digne's handball, which is really difficult to see. It comes from the post in a very short distance, but the handball is completely in an unnatural position and the player can expect that, if the ball is going towards the post (or near it), it can rebound and hit the arm, so for me it is a penalty and a correct decision.

Last, but not least, Gálvez's foul is for me a yellow, given the contact point, that he doesn't trip Messi by using his studs but rather the external part of the boot.

Of course, most of the decisions went against Barça (curiously there is little commentary on Iniesta's situation), who drew, and that is what has caused this chaos.

    1. Graham Scott and his team was having a quiet match overall... I switched off at 70'... What exactly happened??

    3. Oh my goodness gracious... That's just blatant and the referee doesn't even call a foul... This has been discussed earlier that fitness and positioning of Graham Scott is never upto the mark and he often can't keep up with play... In this case he was way too behind play and as a result is completely clueless of what happened and gives a flabbergasted look to his AR... And the AR has absolutely hung him out to dry on this occasion... I think it's time for a bit of rest for Mr. Scott in the next couple of matchdays!!

      Delete
    4. AR1 has no insight into the actual contact, and a lack of dynamic sprinting by Scott, create this crucial mistake.

      Delete
    5. AR went a little forward maybe but surely that massive push he must have seen??? And far as Scott is concerned just not upto the mark... Very poor!!

      Delete
    6. Oh wow, I missed the push :-D.
I only saw the contact at the feet- at least when they showed it from the angle of AR1 it was possible to think that LIV slipped, or the contact was slight.
I can understand the AR, because it isn't logical to expect a push in that moment, and he has a zero angle into contact at the feet (that he was surely looking at).
If Scott had even an okay angle though via some dynamic sprinting, this would be no problem.
Graham Scott is fifty(!) years old...

      Delete
    7. Graham Scott was promoted to SG1 when he was 48 years old 😓

      Delete
    8. Sorry but in this case AR is even more responsible than main referee because he had a better view from his position about the push from behind, he had to help referee. In any case, very blatant missed foul + RC.

    3. The Karasev decision in Ajax v Schalke looks a very much acceptable decision to me!!

      Delete
    4. At least most of this situations are not blatant and obvious mistakes. For me, not a clear penalty in Juventus-Monaco and pretty much acceptable call from Orsato in Dortmund. IMO Karasev decision was wrong, but from his angle it looked like PK. Blatant mistakes are from Aytekin, Estrada Fernandez, Kralovec and Evans (just look at him and his gestures, one funny ref :)).

  8. Let me add, excellent innovation included in this new version of RAP. For every challenge, there is an evaluation scale about the severity of the offense, as you can see in this pic:
    https://s14.postimg.org/zf6p03781/image.jpg
There are some challenges to be considered impossible to classify without doubts. "Borderline", which means a grey area between nothing/YC and between YC/RC, is surely a very important concept nowadays in refereeing.
Now I can also understand when they assess a certain foul as YC but they also show it is indeed "borderline" to RC, so a RC wouldn't be a 100% mistake, and players, acting in that way, must be aware that they assume a risk.

    2. I can't say so much more if not try and retry, in past I had always some troubles in downloading the file. This time it was OK, without problems at the first attempt. If your device reports that the file is corrupted, very likely you have not downloaded it entirely / correctly.
Unluckily, with files of such dimension it is very often a problem.

    3. I will give it a try once again tomorrow from the desktop if that would help :(

    4. Maybe you don't have enough space in your phone memory. This file is 6,6 GB.

      Delete
    5. Hi Teo. I've a new 64 GB memory card installed newly and very little of it is currently used up so I would assume that is not the problem. Probably it's some incompatibility of the file type with the device which is why the corrupted thing comes up. Giving it a try from the desktop is now my only hope :(

    6. I hope you'll find the way. On my lap top it is working perfectly.
Very good RAP, lots of interesting videos, but I have to say that there are several situations that I disagree with UEFA, or I am not sure that their opinion is fully correct.
Those clips reminded me how was difficult the game Aytekin had in Barcelona-PSG, with numerous simulations, but also numerous his and his assistants mistakes.
Also, they reminded me again how awful evening Kassai and his assistants had in Real-Bayern. Real disaster.
Mazic had obviously in the eyes of UEFA excellent match in Munchen: correct PK, correct 2 no punishable handling in Arsenal's PK area and excellent advantage and YC afterwards. Interesting is that after that match he got only Besiktas-Lyon in 1/4 of Europa League, where he was excellent and in full control over 120 minutes. No semifinals, no finals for him in both El and CL (ok, he whistled Super Cup final in 2016 and Confederations cup final in 2017, but surprisingly he didn't get any of last 10 matches in European competition).

    1. 1) Clear holding, RC is the correct decision, attacker could have easily scored from there.

      2) Borderline decision here, I think yellow card is still here a decision which is okay for my taste.

      3) Very harsh call, if not wrong. It's not a foul at all, but I cannot see a clear simulation from the player either. The correct call would have been to play on IMO. By the way, I don't like the card-showing procedure by Fernández Borbalán, he first pulls out the yellow, then goes away and then only puts out the red card. It does not look good and convincing in my view.

      Delete
    2. On 3), seems quite clear to me that Borbalan forgot that the player was already on a yellow, before being reminded by an AR/4th.
Also, I would call it a clear incorrect decision. The player does not appeal for a foul and gets up immediately. There is no attempt to deceive the referee, in my view.
