What do you think? Play on of deliberate kick to the GK? http://highlights.allsvenskan.se/minified#a6y2hxqmcdff4
ReplyDeleteIFK
DeleteI guess, there is no any infringement on this play. Because the defender doesn’t play deliberately with the ball to pass goalkeeper. The rule of the game is looklng for deliberation.
DeleteWhen will Nations League appointments be available?
ReplyDeleteI think that appointments are confidential. We got the news that Vertenten from Belgium is appointed but the date and the game are unknown. If UEFA will apply the same policy of Champions League, appointments will be released two days before the games.
DeleteHowever, it is also possible three days before the games, as it was in past for EURO and WC qualifiers.
So either tomorrow or Tuesday we will start...
Unbelievable offside call by Greek FIFA AR Vasilios Kampouris.
ReplyDeletehttps://streamable.com/ppo13
And 2 penalty appeals
https://streamable.com/e46hq
https://streamable.com/zt5pq
Penalties could have been whistled in both situations, but in my opinion not clear mistakes.
DeleteThe first offside position is clearly wrong. But in my opinion when the teams wear the same style jersey, mistake is inescapsble for assistance referees.
DeleteFirst penalty position is not clear but second one is not penalty. Because the oppenent player lost his balance and he almost done before the touch.
OT:Very strange red card for Roque Mesa in Sevilla derby.
ReplyDeleteHe already had yc and he disrupted gk and received 2nd yc.
But looks like Betis GK jumped into hom to provoke that 2nd yellow.
Shocking not to see a VAR intervention. Huge mistake, IMO should have been PK+RC for Betis keeper for VC.
DeleteIn my opinion could be penalty kick and RC for Pau Lopez....
DeleteCrucial decision, now Betis leads 1-0
I think that VAR didn't intervene because nor a RC neither a penalty were 100% clear decisions, so impossible to question on a YC.
DeleteIMO, it is a 100% clear decision: penalty and RC. No room for interpretation there. The only chance to accept the non-intervention is because the referee whistled a previous foul by the attacker for disrupting the release, but that is not the case as the whistle came later if I'm not wrong. Also, IMO, that foul would be wrong too, because the keeper doesn't attempt to release the ball at any moment. In fact, he keeps the ball and with the other arm, he hits the attacker.
DeleteFor me, it is a crucial mistake by both Gil Manzano and del Cerro Grande. And at this time I would expect a press conference by Carlos Velasco Carballo this week or next to analyse the use of VAR in LaLiga so far (and would be nice to include this situation too).

DeleteI still don't see the action by keeper as clear (in the meaning of possible VAR intervention) 100% violent conduct, but I must admit that VAR could have intervened because penalty looks to be a more than valid option there.
DeleteMy choice here would be: penalty and YC to keeper.
His behavior is unacceptable but I don't see a clear act of violence against the opponent.
Full highlights and some of cards shown by Manzano:

Clear VC and penalty.
DeleteWell, I said it last night, and just this morning, Velasco Carballo made a press conference to explain VAR use so far. There, he informed that Spain will held the first FIFA course for VAR instructors. Regarding last night incident, he declined to define the situation as either a supportable/correct call or a mistake. He said he has his opinion and that it is as important as any supporter's or coach (IMO, not a true statement given his position, as he and his team have to say what is a correct call or a mistake to the referees). He only asked the press to "respect" Gil Manzano's decision.
DeleteThe full press conference is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9W_PJ5z2fjM
Footage is shown of three VAR interventions: goal/no goal in Espanyol-Valencia, penalty/DFK in Rayo-Sevilla and penalty OFR in Alavés-Espanyol yesterday. Very interesting to watch.
I find it quite disappointing and downright sad. That the "modern" expectation on a referee is for him/her to find any possible reason/excuse (no matter how minuscule) to not show a show a straight Red Card and instead be limp wristed and ultimately under-punish incidents.
DeleteThe images and actions by the goalkeeper are crystal clear in this incident. Not a "grey area" type of incident either. The GK without provocation charges directly in an aggressive manner towards the opposing player. The GK then in a totally unnecessary action throws his arms in a forceful/violent manner towards the opposing player. A motion and action that indeed makes forceful/violent contact with the opposing player.
But hey, y'all continue to let dirty/violent players get away with anything and everything. All because that Red Card is too big of a burden for some to pull from their pockets.
"Fair Play", right? Yeah, sure, uh huh, okay ;)
The first, penalty 100%. Not a good game for the AR

He handled it very well from what I saw. Good SFP red card.
DeleteFully agree and no doubt at all with the Red Card. I'd give it 10 out 10 times.
DeleteSadly the Red Card is not at all in line with today's "modern", "lenient", and "overly permissive" instructions/directives being force fed to referee's.
I THINK even that red gets given at the WC. I, however, was glad to see it given in a friendly without even a second thought. Because i agree some referees would try to be lenient in such a match. Thankfully he recognized the misconduct and understood the rising temperature in the match.
DeleteI’d like to see Montero for one of the two USA-MEX Hex matches in 2021. Lopez for the other if he regains form.
Dmitriy Mashentsev (KGZ) is in charge of Uzbekistan - Iran.
ReplyDeleteYou can find as AR1 Bakhadyr Kochkarov (48 years old, 1970 born). For sure a record among the current FIFA officials. Interesting to know whether he will keep the badge for 2019 as well.
I have a feeling that he is the big boss of refereeing in his country :)
AR Marvin Torrentera from Mexico is not too far behind. He's 1971 born and was in Russia as part of Cesar Ramos' team.
DeleteBut the fact that KOCHKAROV has be on the FIFA panel since 1997 (that's 21 years!) is an amazing feat.
