  1. OT:
I'll posted this on the last post but this came right after so a lot of people might not have seen it.

    https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2020/10/03/substitution-never-was-russell-canouse-enters-dc-united-illegal-substitute

Yikes... This is bad. In a professional game.

    1. How is he even on the bench in the first place?

    2. How does the 4th official not check him when he's entering?

This should never happen. Especially in a professional game.

    1. I don't know the MLS regulations, but at least in German grassroot level, it is only the team's responsibility to make sure, that they only use available players. The referees do check pre-match that the players are on the match report, but they don't have to check, whether they are e.g. banned. And they are not required to do another check during the substitution. The referees aren't even allowed to deny a player to play, if they know, that he is not registered. They can only note in the match report and leave it to other authorities to decide on it.
If the opponent discovers, that an unavailable player was used, they can protest against the match result afterwards, but normally this has no consequences for the referee.

On professional level, I also have never seen, that it is checked, who sits on the bench. During a substitution, they could check, whether the kit number is on the match report, but if a player wears the shirt of a teammate, it becomes quite difficult to notice it, because passport controls are not part of the substitution process.

    2. I have heard that in MLS, the teams are responsible for this. The referees check equipment for safety, but non-referee league officials and the teams are (supposedly) the ones who deal with rosters and all.

    3. I thought exactly what Philipp S is saying. It's not the responsebility of the officials here in Switzerland.

    4. I want to thank Dr Emu a very powerful spell caster who help me to bring my husband back to me, few month ago i have a serious problem with my husband, to the extend that he left the house, and he started dating another woman and he stayed with the woman, i tried all i can to bring him back, but all my effort was useless until the day my friend came to my house and i told her every thing that had happened between me and my husband, then she told me of a powerful spell caster who help her when she was in the same problem I then contact Dr Emu and told him every thing and he told me not to worry my self again that my husband will come back to me after he has cast a spell on him, i thought it was a joke, after he had finish casting the spell, he told me that he had just finish casting the spell, to my greatest surprise within 48 hours, my husband really came back begging me to forgive him, if you need his help you can contact him with via email: Emutemple@gmail.com or add him up on his whatsapp +2347012841542 is willing to help any body that need his help.

  2. Please correct me if I am wrong, but it is not within the competence of the match officials to prohibit an unqualified player from participating in the match

  3. I agree, i thought it was an admin/league decision, not a game/match official decision

  4. INCREDIBLE! Elbowing from Lamela, Martial was provoked and punched him (of course Lamela fell down and after) and Taylor gave only RC to Martial! Are those people in VAR room blind???Martial was stupid because he didn’t lay down and acted. But this Taylor... no words. Incredible!!! Lamela started First and he was prized for that.

    1. Yep, agree with that.

    2. It was a handbags incident, with Lamela exagerating the contact on him, I thought it was a situation that both players should have been given the same punishment, 2 yellow or 2 red, both were only two slaps and i thought yellows would have done. However the foul by Shaw Man U near the end was a clear red card, never a yellow. Taylor never ceases to amaze, when will Rosseti ever admit that Oliver is a much safer pair on hands or has the Italian curse from the Real v Juventus still hanging over him, Italians have a longer memory than an elephant

  5. Lamela did receive a YC. It was shown on TV. It's a difference between VC and UB.

    1. How did Alberola Rojas (referee) and Cordero Vega (VAR) miss this crystal clear PK????

    2. No explanation, 100% PK call. It's not acceptable at this level that both Alberola Rojas and Cordero Vega assess this as a no PK.

  7. RC given by Frappart after OFR:

    1. Good decision, clear SFP.
Furthermore, she is handling the game pretty well, good disciplinary control (early YC-reckless use of arms) and awarded a correct PK to Lyon.
      Good refereeing display so far.

  8. Kateryna Monzul is the next Women Elite referee after Frappart to appear in a man competition, she has Lithuania - Greece.

  11. Vlad Lifciu (MDA) replaces Georgiou in MDA-GER. So they chose to use a non-neutral AR instead of using Farkas in a different role.
I don't rememeber such a situation from other UEFA matches - but maybe it will happen more often this year due to Covid.

  12. Visar Kastrati from Kosovo will make his debut as FIFA referee.
To be checked whether there are still other new FIFA (UEFA) referees for 2020 without a game.
    Three Czech teams in action.
Curiosity: UEFA Referee Liaison Officer for Greece - Croatia is Mark Clattenburg, game was originally planned in Patras, then relocated in Athens.

    1. Chefren, you must have a chrystal ball, Nick Walsh has an u/21 match in North Macedonia, how times quickly change, when I was on the FIFA list Walsh was not even born and North Macedonia did not even exist

  15. Good performance by Pavel Orel in Moldova. Correct PK in 86', but I think his AR2 should have noticed that the goalkeeper had moved significantly off the goal line and the PK should have been re-taken.

    1. IMO penalty is the correct call, but the goalkeeper left the goal line quite clear and significantly. The AR2 must see that, because it's absolutely clear to see for everyone.

  16. I watched some parts of Visar Kastrati (KOS) debut in Romania-Malta, 1st half of the match featured 3 KMI which I'd say all were correcty assessed: Correct 2YC for ROU5 in 35', correct PK for Romania in 39' and good IFK + YC for simulation for ROU9 in 44'.

Rest of cards issued were correct/supportable for me: MLT18 in 23' (SPA), ROU5 in 25' (reckless/SPA), MLT17 in 37' (reckless) and ROU22 in 56' (reckless/SPA/persistent infringement - the latter suggested by referee's gestures)

  17. Two penalty vs. simulation incidents from the England - Turkey game handled by Willy Delajod.

    1. 52' in my opinion simulation but you can't fully prove that, because it is possible there was an extremely tight contact by foot, however no doubts for me, given the live sequence, attacker used this situation to fall down with a certain delay. My personal reaction on the pitch would have been simulation, though.

83' In this case even more clear that there isn't any contact. I would call this as crucial mistake.

Delajod too easy in whistling penalties in this game.

    2. I agree with you Chefren - 52' hard to be SURE but probably a dive, 83' very clear mistake. To add at 83' - why does Delajod run into the diagonal channel when the play is obviously going to go left again? If the Frenchman was running from the left he'd have gotten the call right, poor anticipation.

Time-after-time, I can't believe how poor this referee is to be honest.

    3. IMO two mistakes by the Frenchman.
The second incident is quite clear and therefore a crucial mistake. The anticipation in the second scence is absolutely insufficient.

  18. After being in relationship with Wilson for seven years,he broke up with me, I did everything possible to bring him back but all was in vain, I wanted him back so much because of the love I have for him, I begged him with everything, I made promises but he refused. I explained my problem to someone online and she suggested that I should contact a spell caster that could help me cast a spell to bring him back but I am the type that don’t believed in spell, I had no choice than to try it, I meant a spell caster called Dr clement and I email him, and he told me there was no problem that everything will be okay before three days, that my ex will return to me before three days, he cast the spell and surprisingly in the second day, it was around 4pm. My ex called me, I was so surprised, I answered the call and all he said was that he was so sorry for everything that happened, that he wanted me to return to him, that he loves me so much. I was so happy and went to him, that was how we started living together happily again. Since then, I have made promise that anybody I know that have a relationship problem, I would be of help to such person by referring him or her to the only real and powerful spell caster who helped me with my own problem and who is different from all the fake ones out there.
