Kateryna Monzul back to officiate in Italian Women's Serie A on next Sunday

Kateryna Monzul (UKR) will officiate a game of Italian Women's serie A, Inter - Sampdoria, to be played on 20 March 2022.

"The doors of the Italian Referees Association are always open to give solidarity and help to those living in difficult times" - said Alfredo Trentalange - we are proud this time to give hospitality to Kateryna Monzul who comes from a territory whose population is experiencing a terrible war. We are talking about one of the most famous female referee in the world: a true model. We are happy to have her  in our championship, with the hope that, in the shortest possible time, she will be able to return with her loved ones to her country ".

“I am touched by the level of solidarity - says the president of the Ukrainian Football Association Andriy Pavelko - that our Italian friends from the FIGC are showing us in such difficult times. For Ukraine it is extremely important that football can progress in some way even under dramatic circumstances. Kateryna is an exceptional referee who fully deserves this opportunity. I am sure she will perform well in Italian football. Thanks to UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin and FIGC President Gabriele Gravina for their invaluable support ”.

As Law 5 - Blog we are extremely pleased by this solidarity act and we wish the best to all Ukrainian people.

  1. My deepest respect and admiration not only for the solidarity of the italian FIGC but also for this post and for the position taken by the authors in bold at the end of the post. Well done Chefren, respect of the life and for the ukranian people who are hugely suffering and position against the war are a must

  2. We expect similar solidarity acts for Afghani, İraqi, syrian and Libyan people. Not be racist when you show your solidarity. But i forget sometimes the santimetre. You generally think like US president Biden said 'its very emotional for me because i see european people with blue eyes qnd blonde hayır killed every day'

    1. Which female referees from those four deeply misogynistic and non-European countries would you have chosen then John?

    2. It doesn't have to be the same solidarity but a little bit conscience colud be enough. Let's start by not blowing up the boats of syrian refugees in the Mediterranean. But we as europeans always enthisatic about sjw acts. Nobody cares about reality or the facts but how it looks like.an action that is of no use to Ukranians but is good for clearing the conscience of society. This acts take away the accumulated enerji in society, but make the situation worse for those who are experiencing war. Because peaopke are starting to think that they are doing enough to help the victims.

    4. It's not about the eye or hair colour, it is about embracing the culture and customs of the country that offers you shelter and the chance for a new life. Which is something that Ukrainian refugees are much more likely to do than refugees from Middle East.
