  1. UPDATE about Artan from a very reliable source:

FIFA is seriously fighting the CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe just because he fought for Omar Artan to get the UEFA Super Cup to officiate.

    1. If FIFA wants to be credible, it must stop being strong with the weak and weak with the strong

  2. No "pose" from the VAR team following the Evans "controversy"

  3. 4' Incorrect corner kick awarded by AR1, correctly overturned by VAR. Very clear for me that it was a goal kick initially.

  4. Wow big foul missed, clear YC

    1. For me it's a good no foul call. The cape Verde player kicks it excessively ahead of himself and then runs into the Spanish player who's line of movement doesn't change. Good for me not to reward the attackers cheap attempt to win a free kick.

    2. Completely disagree @osmanabot, defender is never looking for the ball and clearly go straight to the attacker clear obstruction with big impact.

    4. Very obvious foul and YC IMO.

    5. One of the biggest YC I can remember. Obvious booking.
Cynical foul, player made the action exactly to block opponent.

  5. Pathetic missed foul in the 10th minute. If you cant assess that as a foul, you have no business as a referee

    1. Clear foul and mandatory YC. The 4 referee could help the referee. Its so obvious.

  6. Good YC on 16' for reckless hands to the face. Strong authoritative start from Makhadmeh.

    3. Mandatory YC. Fine by Jordanian referee.

    4. Correct decision, this time OK, but the action by player is result of missed YC before.

    2. Better to give it, but maybe not that mistake..

    3. But second time with very generous decision with Spain…Not the best disciplinary management.

  8. Could have been YC for Llorente

    1. Agree. Could be but not mandatory here in my opinion.

  9. missed yellow card and a bit of probably a bit of trouble with positioning but overall a solid first half

  10. Another incorrect corner, admittedly this one was tougher but not good this time from AR2.

  11. Crystal clear YC for ESP #20 for SPA on 90+3'

  12. Despite one of the most surprising final score, no controversy in the game. Rather standard performance by Jordan referee, in second half football-focused game, in first half he should have detected the YC in 10'.
    Correct the YC in 90'+3.

  13. For me this was an okay/expected level performance from Makhadmeh. I concur with the thoughts that there were no controversies and no focus on the referee. I do feel however as the game progressed his positioning was more central and restricted in comparison in the first half where he ran dynamically wide and into the penalty area on occasions. Technically was ok without being good or poor, I accept I express individual thoughts on 10' but he was fairly consistent throughout and adopted a fair approach with moderate level of physicality.
A second assignment will follow but it will be very interesting to see where and how that assignment will come about, if I were to guess, I would say a MD3 match with nothing to play for or a game where the expected gap in quality is great like today.

  14. Only 11 faults. Very easy-going game from the ref perspective. There were the two errors in the corner kicks and at very least one YC for Spain was left unshown…But in the end no big controversy on Adham side.
