Missed yc in I min
ReplyDeleteI think giving YC for this is quite harsh. Definitely not mandatory, and I would feel it would do more harm than good giving this one
DeleteSame here. Not mandatory agree with ref too.
DeleteHe need to protect docu at some point he will lose control with Egyptian reckless chalange
DeleteFirst yc in 13 min
ReplyDeleteGood YC at 13’ against Egypt defensor.

DeleteAt just after for Belgium. Well done with dynamic communication by brazilin referee.
ReplyDeleteAnother yc in 14 min good decision

DeleteAlso good YC for BEL21 for SPA. Consistent with previous card given to Egypt defender
ReplyDeleteMissed yc in min 16 for reckless challenge (trailing leg)

DeleteClear yc missed of 16’ min. Really reckless challange from behind, no contact with the ball

DeleteIt’s a clear mistake, but if you catch the nuance of the incident, it is very difficult in practice as a referee to detect these incidents where players deliberately step into foul tackles. I wouldn’t censure Abatti much for this. Generally, an impressive first 1/4 by the Brazilian referee!

DeleteAgree : big missed without foul and YC forgotten…
ReplyDeleteI rewatched the missed foul and YC in min 16. Af prior throw in, ref is standing at samen level of throw-in taker and is imo to non-chalant in his movement and proactiveness. Needs to be further up the pitch and in motion. Possible contributing factor to missed foul.
ReplyDeleteYc correct in 33 min

DeleteHow can the Egyptian bench possibly dispute this obvious yellow card shown by the Brazilian referee Abatti here?!
ReplyDeleteIs traditionnel in egypt
DeleteMissed faoul in 42 min
ReplyDeleteMissed yc again in 45 min Côme on abbati
ReplyDeleteSeveral step on foot challenges that should have been sanctioned with a yellow card…
ReplyDeleteAgree. Missed YC here again.

DeleteTerrible foul detection and disiplinary action. Tough game
ReplyDeleteI would not state it that harshly tbh. Some missed fouls, but overall good balance. Indeed a mandatory YC (and foul) missed 16'. Would class it as an intense game, but not in terms of foul play or challenges.
DeleteWhat about the stamp after 36 mins?
Deleteexpecte second half with Egyptian wasting time mord agressive chalange . Let's if abbati will miss more caution
ReplyDeleteAt least three mandatory cards missed (16', 37', 45'), two of them being 'orange' and very hesitating about some calls. Poor performance so far.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I agree with you fully. I have the same negative impression like in Vinčić's 2H two days ago, for exactly the same reasons. Abatti seems unsure about the exact nature of some calls too many times.
DeleteAgree. Same problems that Vincic without his « aura » and communication to compensate for this deficiency.
DeleteThe missed YC in 45' seems a deliberate choice because he saw, thank to a very good positioning, the step on foot.
ReplyDeleteCorrect and impossible to avoid YC in 33', while missed another YC in 16' (in this case hard to detect).
A bit more focus on the nature of challenges is needed by the Brazilian referee, second half can become challenging due to Egypt defending the score.
for me clear penalty + red
ReplyDeleteDive and YC missed…
DeleteI think he refers to the incident on the other side just moments before. The push in the back on the Egyptian.
DeleteOh sorry. Not sufficient for me to whistle. Normal defensive action.
Delete👍🏻👍🏻 Can someone explain why that isn’t a penalty against Belgium?? Marmoush through on goal setting up for a shot and gets shoved from behind…

DeleteMissed caution for simulation
ReplyDeleteBlatant simulation by Doku. Nothing called.

DeletePossible pelanty here n8 from Egypt make obstruction
ReplyDeleteClear yc for dive missed
ReplyDeleteAbattis world cup should be over
ReplyDeleteSorry but in terms of discipline management, brazilian referee is…awful !
ReplyDeleteI tend to believe that ref had forgotten his cards on restroom. Sorry but too lenient refereeing. Not good at all.
Delete2 YC missed in 30 seconds
ReplyDeleteClear YC for Doku missed for blocking the GK and then on the advantage missed YC for a reckless foul
DeleteI think it's okay to let that slide. Goes down far too easily indeed. YC is oké, I think leaving it is okay as as well. If you read the situation: player is desperate, has been tackles multiple times, can't really get into the game, etc. It's more of a desperate attempt to enforce a penalty, than a blatant attempt to mislead the referee
ReplyDelete« Desperate attempt to enforce a penalty » = YC needed ! ;)
DeleteNo, looking for a penalty is something done a lot in football. If it's really simulating, then YC indeed. But he goes in between two players, and goes to ground in a desperate attempt to enforce/win a "easy" penalty.
DeleteSuperman flying dive to the ground. Ridiculous simulation.
DeleteCopa Libertadores style
ReplyDeleteClause could be good choice than abbati
ReplyDeleteThe worst refereeing performance of the tournament so far.
ReplyDeleteSorry no. Ghorbal was the worst…
DeleteMissed yc for spa
ReplyDeleteMissed YC (again and again and again).

DeleteBig foul missed but outside of the penalty area that’s why VAR stayed silent.

Delete+ the not normal behavior from the EGY Coach...
how did egypt not get a penalty there
ReplyDeleteOutside I think
DeleteYes outside. But was blatant second YC and RC missed by ref. Disciplinary nightmare for him. And how on earth can Egypt coach touched as he did fourth official without sanction ? Unbelievable !
DeleteMissed faoul by abbati qnd unacceptable behavior from the coach
ReplyDeleteIn general weak performance by referee in terms of foul detection and cards management. Not a good match for him in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteDid we see a referee at the world cup missing 4-5 yellow cards?
ReplyDeleteThis performance need to forged many missed yc faoul
ReplyDeleteAbatti paid homage to Coelho/‘82 final with the final whistle! The excellent Fagundes did the same in the CA2011 final. Too many mistakes and insecure impression from the 39yo Brazilian, the same as I wrote in April, but some of the isolated mistakes were not as egregious as had been indicated in my opinion (Mr W was absolutely correct in his analysis on the non-penalty call). One of the weaker performances so far, commensurate to the level shown by Abatti in this WC cycle.
ReplyDeleteBritish TV highlighting that the free kick that initially led to Belgiums goal was taken 14 yards further forward from the initial foul. Didn't see the game but from all accounts appeared to be an "interesting" performance to say the least.
ReplyDeleteBBC in UK showing that free kick leading to Belgium goal was taken in wrong place, about 14 yards further forward.
ReplyDeletePredictions:
ReplyDeleteBRA-HAI: Eskas (NOR)
SCO-MAR: Tantashev (UZB)
USA-AUS: Kovacs (ROU)
TUR-PAR: Barton (SLV)
That was probably his last game of the tournament very poor performance, not at the level for this high intensity game.
