  2. Slovenian and Ukrainian seem to be the most talented ones. I would expect one of them with the final appointment.

Positively surprised with Krzysztof Jakubik! He had some problems (like many others) with his first Yo-Yo test when he joined the FIFA list but was allowed to handle games anyway. He is not players friend but not very strict with regard to disciplinary management. He needs a good mentor and can reach at least Second Category. And such a tournament is always a very good opportunity to get a professional feedback from significant observers.

Good luck to all selected officials!

    1. Did you delete your twitter account Vlad?

    2. Yes. This time forever. Too bad atmosphere, too many insults from idiot fans, touchy Polish refs who prefer being insulted by crowd than read my analysis on TT and many journalists being on Polish FA president's leash.

Now Rafał Rostkowski is attacked by Zbigniew Boniek because he disagreed with no-penalty call in Górnik Zabrze v Legia Warszawa. Boniek said "accident, no foul", what is not in line with the LotG, as we know well. Then, Boniek said about Rostkowski "he talks nonsense, as always", "many times I had to be ashamed because of him when he ran the line", etc. To be honest, he behaves like a typical troll on Twitter and is not able to present arguments. You have a different view, you have to be humiliated.

It's the reality in Polish football in Boniek's era. You can't say one critical word about him, federation, referees, because you are instantly treated like an enemy that should be destroyed by all available methods.

Zbigniew Przesmycki, the head of referees, can do nothing on his own, because everything has to be accepted by Boniek, who even forced Przesmycki to implement some instructions for referees in the past. And that's a case in all other fields of football in Poland. Zbigniew Boniek - capo di tutti capi. :)

    3. I'm really sorry, Vlad. Many football fans here in Italy keep a good memory about Boniek, when he was player in our country.
But I must say, reading your words, that it is very shocking to know how he "works" in Poland... it is something like dark ages, you can't do anything if you go against him. Very sad.

    4. I'm sorry to hear that Vlad. I've always enjoyed your tweets and analyzes but I know twitter can be hopeless.

    1. Sad to hear it, I thought he was very good in Gibraltar - Armenia (Nations League) and such a tournament certainly would have been another step for him.

    2. Espen Eskaas will replace Steen in the tournament.

    3. So, a Norwegian replaces a Norwegian. This one is younger, born in 1988...

  6. The latest in the argument between Gozubuyuk and Slutsky:
    - Slutsky was in a TV show in which he explained that he still thinks the same way about what he said. He added that he feels that Gozubuyuk's body language tells that he doesn't want to speak to you. Also, he expects to be suspended.
    - Gozubuyuk reacted (by video in the same show) by saying that his words were absolutely unacceptable and he feels there was no ground for that, as he is willing to explain but not on the pitch. He has admitted his error with the penalty overturn (he should have given indirect free kick). Gozubuyuk is in another TV show right now.
I'm actually interested: what do you think about referees that participate in talkshows often (it is a talkshow on commercial TV, so it could be biased). Nijhuis has done so for a long time and lately Gozubuyuk as well.

  8. No Croatian referee on the list? They are underestimated by UEFA.
