  1. Scottish Observer in a Scottish team game observing a Welsh referee. Surely that can't happen

    1. It’s a childrens match, it doesn’t really matter

    2. So a member of the UEFA referees committee and I very senior member can not do this.
Have a look at the other appointments before you make a comment. A Engish observer is Steve Tanner is watching a game with a Engish team playing .So can you please explain what the difference is ?

    3. Plus the comment
      It’s a children match.it don’t matter
Is absolutely totally nonsense to write
Try telling that to the players or the match officials .

    4. Hugh Dallas has been removed from committee, I suggest you keep up to speed. He was removed prior to summer course and all officials in attendance at summer course were told he had been removed.

    5. That's a very big new that went unnoticed until today. Strange that after this decision, he goes in YL to observe a referee, to be honest I can't imagine Dallas just as normal observer...

    6. Looking fo some news about Dallas, I found this:
      https://www.ntvspor.net/futbol/murat-ilgaz-ile-hugh-dallas-hakem-kararlarini-degerlendirecek-630de6a3708f48d5685798a4
It seems as now he works for Turkish federation.

    7. I think that is why he is not on committee

    8. Can we please have the comments about Mr Dallas in English or a summary about this thanks

    9. So what committee is Mr Dallas not on .Thanks

    10. Are you sure of your information ? H. Dallas still on UEFA ref committee according official document.
You might be right, but if turkish news your only source and this article does says he was removed from committee. Where is your official source ?

    11. Dallas is not a normal observer. He is or was the chairman deputy with Collina and Rosetti. Dallas is an influencer

  2. If I am right, it is the first international match for Sven Jablonski. "Strange" AR2 appointment in his team as Eric Müller is a second division AR. I did not know that it was possible to have a second division AR in international matches.

    1. It should only be male fifa officials for such big games. I never understand these silly non fifa/female appointments. It makes a mockery of the competition

      Delete
    2. Can you please do your home work
A top Engish official has worked with a female FIFIA assistant referee In major games. So I really do not see a problem

    3. I also noticed about Germany that most of the times for YL games local observers, differently from other countries, are not appointed. It seems as German UEFA observers are not easily available, because I noticed that in past as well. In other nations we see mostly domestic UEFA observer of the same appointed for the major games. But in Germany almost never a German observer in YL.

  3. 1st goal for Man Utd,great advantage by Tierney, but no YC after?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It was SPA if whistled, but although nowhere near the ball probably not enough to be 100% reckless, so no YC correct. I was more concerned with the first goal being disallowed by VAR. Given the raised levels of contact being supposedly allowed this year, and with a lot of similar levels of contact being waved away, I'm not too convinced that VAR should have got involved

    2. Clear push and trip on the leg on Eriksen.

  4. Does anyone know, how much refs get paid for those matches?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. No fees for the match. In YL Referees only get the daily allowances and the lump sum for
      domestic expenses. Total 800€

  5. Earlier today, I made a comment in UCL blogpost that I wouldn’t be surprised to see a Dutch crew in Bruges, because of the travel distance (easy drive by car), and Netherlands is sandwiched between Belgium and Germany.

But it seems, they used this idea for the Youth League :)

  8. Media case from Norway now about a very talented referee who was 162 cm high.

Passed all fitness tests by a big margin.
    Excellent understanding of the game.
    Great communication with players.

But he was made to retire if he didn’t want to become an assistant referee, only reason was his height.

Is this acceptable for a football federation?

    2. I feel so bad for him

      Delete
    3. I think it's a pathetic reality that has to be accepted in the sense that maybe if he was a referee in AFC it wouldn't be a problem but it's Norway where his height would obviously be a problem.

      Delete
    4. It is not acceptable in 2022. It is discrimination!

    5. Many years ago, Romania used to have a requirement for referees to be minimum 1.70 m tall, but it was abolished when the son (whose height was around 1.70 m) of the RefCom chairman (Avram) at the time was promoted to the highest level.

Penalty in Napoli - Liverpool, for me impossible to say whether correct call or simulation, at the end maybe soft contact with keeper's hand but enough in such classic situation, with keeper out, to expect a penalty...

  10. Here are some PK and RC (DOGSO) from YL MD1. I couldn’t find more clips. I’m not expressing the opinion for each one of them and you can share yours but overall, very good calls by referees. Well done!
