Good luck for all 8 referees.

Raczkowski and Millot are VAR team in Rennes. It seems Marciniak tested positive for COVID.

  3. Raczkowski replaces Marciniak as VAR in Rennes.
    Millot fills in as AVAR.

Raczkowski also replaces Marciniak in his EL match.

Milos Milanovic 27y old new FIFA referee on A list from Serbia. Probably replacing Milos Djordjic.

    1. So far, we have seen changes in France, Germany, Greece, Malta, Romania, Serbia. Any other changes?

    2. Changes in UEFA list. I'd be surprised if there are no changes in Denmark, Norway and Israel (countries having referees born in the 70s demoted to Third on summer). Also, is Sweden replacing Strömbergsson?

  5. Pavel Kukuyan (38 years) will be recommended in Fifa list on 2021 year.

  6. It seems he doesn't replace anyone.

  7. New look for Cakir, he looked like Marciniak...

    ReplyDelete
  8. Wow, first YC in 1st minute. It was fot sure, just didnt expect from Cakir to show it that early.

Clear SPA. No real argument to not show it.

      Delete
    2. Well someone would say it was 1st foul, 1st minute, and so on...

      Delete
    3. But still, Cakir "paid" that by being reluctant in showing a very mandatory YC then in 34' for the same player. It seems as the origin of some problems in refereeing nowadays is the attempt by many referees to keep always players on the pitch. I don't say that a referee must issue always yellow cards, but in front of clear situations no matter that it is still first half, a player must be sent off.
Missing yellow cards has been in my opinion one of the clear reasons for which Cakir has lost his (very) old form in recent times.

      Delete
    4. I don't like the first minute YC it puts the official in a bad position and I didn't think it was a yc worthy foul

      Delete
  9. Correct penalty by Cakir, but what about YC?

    ReplyDelete
  10. And now minute 34' late and reckless tackle by a player who was already booked. Also SPA possible argument. I think mistake by Cakir to whistle only foul.

    ReplyDelete
  11. For me, Sobol from Brugge deserved second YC. Late challenge, in somewhat promising position, not even close to the ball.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Sobol wanted to get a red card from the beginning of the game. True Card.

    ReplyDelete
  13. It was only a delay of three minutes, however it looked like in 34' Cakir was very aware that he had to book player again. It would have been fully correct. Issuing very early YCs in the game shouldn't influence when a player deserves then to be booked for the second time.

    ReplyDelete
  14. For me it wouldn't be a clear 2nd YC if Cakir shown it at 34th min because it was not a promising attack or reckless tackle. But it is clear now with the 2nd YC at 37th min.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I agree with you. Not a promising attack

      Delete
    2. A very good Cakir game. Correct penalty and RC in the first half. In the second half, the Turkish referee did not make any mistakes and throughout the match all YCs were correct

      Delete
  15. Looks like wrong offside AR1 on 55' in Saint Petersberg.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Difficult to say, supportable decision

    ReplyDelete
  17. Very good performance by Kovacs. Compliments

    ReplyDelete
  18. Excellent first half of Cakir, stained by the ugly mistake of the second yellow not given (useless to climb on the mirrors pretending that the decision of the turk is supportable). Some smudging in the second half, especially in the convulsive final (Correa gets a slap in the face and Cakir whistles foul in favor of Brugge; shortly after a clear handball of Savic not recognized). All in all, a globally discreet game with a crucial mistake, in line with the performance Cakir has accustomed us to in recent years: he remains a great referee, but now many elites are more reliable than him.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. the handball decision is supportable, as the ball was reflected

      Delete
  19. Not true sir hand ball in savic first the ball goes head then hand that is it second correa foul before he pushes brugge player
The game overally excellent when we see penaly and red card perfect game for cakir are you agree

    ReplyDelete
  20. I will never understand why referees have to wear socks in colours differing from the jersey colour (except black of course). The black-yellow mixture in Rennes looks odd.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Very soft penalty by Stieler, I would say close to crucial mistake, but VAR should support.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Very soft, but we have seen them a lot this seson and looks like UEFA is ok with all those soft penalties...

      Delete
    2. I don't get why he decided to give the penalty. Nothing for me and also crucial mistake by Stieler and Dankert – and I say this as a German.

      Delete
    3. For sure not penallty
.. It is normal duel between players as usually.. Big mistake!

      Delete
    4. I agree with Chefren herr, there wqs a contact therefore it was ok Dankert did not intervene... But to soft contact to be whistled IMO.

      Delete
    5. Another situation in the Champions League in which a soft penalty is awarded and the VAR does not intervene

  23. Wow, that penalty in Barcelona is so soft. Isn't this the sort of penalty UEFA is trying to avoid?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hehe, based on this season, I would say UEFA is trying to avoid red carda not soft penalties ;)

      Delete
    2. All aggree! Unfortunately, Very easy penalty from Stieler.

      Delete
  24. For me is no penalty to Juventus, sorry ! Wrong penalty by Stieler. My opinion

    ReplyDelete
  25. Not convinced by the PK called by Stieler, looked like a rather fair charge with the ball at distance of play. Not enough for VAR intervention though.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Tobias Stieler and his penalties... Again and again... Almost always mistake, even with VAR.

    1. I was right when I said that match needed experienced elite referee - I think Hategan was a good choice by Committee.

      Delete
    2. What is going on there... Much confusion. I never saw something like that.

      Delete
    3. Unbelievable scene. Very difficult situation for Hategan to deal with, especially with pressure coming from both sides.

      Delete
    4. He (Coltescu) indicated to Hategan "that black player" pointing to that player, translated from Romanian. That's what I heard on live.

      Delete
  28. Play on. No penalty for me.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Coltescu accused of racism by the Turskish staff... to be checked of course, but if it true he must be banished from refereeing.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Unbelivable 4th official of Hategan said assistant coach of Basaksehir Pierre Webo - Negro. Unacceptable...

    ReplyDelete
  31. I must say Coltescu strongly attacked... I still don't understand what exactly happened.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Webo (asst. coach) & Demba Ba, strongly insists that he said racist words... Basaksehir team won't continue the match if the 4th referee doesn't leave the pitch.

      Delete
    2. We don't know what happened exactly but in case of accusations concerning racism, I doubt we will see Hategan again this season. Indeed, it could not be him, but UEFA would probably have no chance. Seems like the match will be abandoned.

      Delete
  32. This would be very shocking from Coltescu.
But to be honest, I wouldn't think that a player would have had such a reaction if nothing had happened!
    Game stopped!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Sorry but you are not racist because you said « black guy » for a person who is the only « black person » on the bench. I think Coltescu said that because of fast identification. IMO, « black guy » is not an insult...

      Delete
    2. This is shocking what I heard from Referee Analyst?

      Delete
    3. This is a very bad communication. But you can’t say that someone is racist because he’s telling « black ». Sorry, but this is a clear overreaction in a contest of Black Lives Matter fired society.

      Delete
    4. These comments by “referee analyst” must be removed.

      Delete
    5. Saying “black guy” as an identifier is definitely racist and in addition Coltescu was accused of saying an additional, more grotesque word.

      Delete
  33. Now Turkish players are leaving the field of play! What a mess there....

    ReplyDelete
  34. Possible penalty missed by Stieler ?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Shame on you coltescu. I cant believe we are seeing racism from referees at this level.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Very strong reactiion by Turkish team. Something must have happened for sure. I'm really sorry for the Romanian crew.

    ReplyDelete
  37. In Romanian “negru” means “black”. An it looks like the 4th official said “this black guy” which is nothing bad but in Romanian it would sound “ tipul acesta negru”. I think it’s a big misunderstanding

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yeah, but English 'N-word' developed from the romance language form of it.

In Spanish 'negro' can also be purely descriptive of black person

      Delete
    2. But still, it’s nobody’s fault if the Romanian language has this word. It’s not offensive!

      Delete
    3. Ok. We have seen replays. Turkish excluded Webo hearded « negru » or in French « negro » is a very insulting term and said « why do you say negro ». Romanian official explained he was speaking in romanian and nothing is racist from this term. Sorry but reactions are overreacted !

      Delete
    4. Romanian referee is not refereeing in Romania. It is CL game and he must respect everyone on that field. In Turkish we have a saying "his excuse is worse than his fault".

      Delete
    5. This isn’t excuse but reality. That’s a big difference.

      Delete
    6. Cant agree. Referees speak in their language. No respect or lack of understanding from turkish. If he really explained that then i dont accept this reaction.

      Delete
    7. Does he need to mention colour of his skin?

      Delete
    8. Coltescu shouldn’t have even mentioned the player’s skin color to begin with. And on top of that, of course, this is a literate UEFA official who could have used the player’s name or even number to address him. Clearly a racist incident by Coltescu, and it seems as if Hategan had no clue what transpired.

      Delete
  38. This is the last international game for Coltescu. He was already replaced from FIFA list by romanian referee committee.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Correct PK for Chelsea by Kralovec.

    ReplyDelete
  40. What a farewelo from international refereeing for Coltescu, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Guys, the word "negro" in Romanian means "black". Can't understand why this simply explanation isn't accepted by the players and coaches.
For example, "black lives matter" in Romanian sounds like "viețile negre contează". So excuse me, but IMO the 4th ref can't be blamed.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Before thinking about that, why referee should call a player based on the color of his skin? That's really shocking!

      Delete
    2. If you don't know the impact of the word negro worldwide you are not suited to officiated

Also there is not any need to call a player by his colour. Of this is white, Black or purple

      Delete
    3. Well, I find it a bit 'ugly', you better call him based on his name or shirt number. But still I think it's gone out of hand.

      Delete
    4. Oh come on Chefren. Shocking is too harsh!
It’s a language and negru in Romanian is not offensive at all. Full stop

      Delete
    5. We are not playing in Romania. This is CL.

      Delete
    6. Chefren! If you watch the video, the fourth official is trying to call the referee over to red card a substitute. The substitutes are all wrapped up in the same jackets with no numbers visible. He had to describe the substitute somehow for the referee to identify the correct person. Maybe he should have said that dark player instead of that black player but this is no reason for the team to refuse to play! Big misunderstanding.

      Delete
    7. So, Cakir's team should not be able to communicate in Turkish and Kuipers' - in Dutch?
      Don't be ridiculous.

      Delete
  42. Paris bench confirmed racist wordt. This is by far this year the most shocking event in the world of refeering. Sad day...

    ReplyDelete
  43. In romanian language "negru" means "black". This is not a racist word in romanian language.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. But Webo is not Romanian..

      Delete
    2. An intl referee should be very picky about his words...

      Delete
    3. Agree with you Ugur. I will be completely if players don’t say homophobic words 100 times during a match. Stop hypocrite position. They aren’t not exemples. Very poor communication by Coltescu by stop to kill him for nothing.

      Delete
  44. Very clear offside missed by AR1 in Leipzig. Lack of concentration. VAR with a correct intervention.

    ReplyDelete
  45. How can a referee call ‘negro’ to a coach? How can uefa didn’t check the extremist political orientation of referees? Unbeliveable. And all that anti-racist ads from uefa is just a bubble burst.

    ReplyDelete
  46. It's really bad to be faced with such a picture. Shocking from Coltescu. Racism is not acceptable.

    ReplyDelete
  47. It might be a problem of Romanian to English but as a referee you should be very careful selecting your words, especially if you are an international FIFA referee. He can call Hategan and point out the person without using the word...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I agree, he could have used his name or his shirt number.

      Delete
    2. Maybe he didn’t know his name and Ba was with long sweatshirt and suit

      Delete
    3. Quilava, as he is asst coach, he can just point him. No need to use single word.

      Delete
    4. @Ugur B I thought he was pointing out to Demba Ba instead of Webó.

      Delete
    5. @Ugur, for some cultures it’s extremely offensive to point to a person. Should we care also about this?

      Delete
    6. @Anonymous - by pointing I mean showing by hand...

      Delete
  48. Before judging we should here all sides being part of the scandal in Paris, but it really seems to be an incident of racism by an official... Shocking.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Whatever the outcome in Paris will be, whether it is a misunderstanding or not, Hategan's hopes for a final were vanished in seconds. Very difficult for everyone in the stadium.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. He couldn’t do anything.

      Delete
    2. He gave a red card for a completely understandable reaction. Huge mistake.

      Delete
    3. Of course he couldn't. I'm very sad for him, but let's be realistic: One will remember the incident as 'part of his match'.

      Delete
  50. If confirmed, shame on Coltescu. Absolutely unbelievable and revolting.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. What would be unbelievable and revolting? Can’t he speak his own language?

      Delete
    2. He was on the bench with jacket on him.

    3. You have the typical « indigenist » reaction with lot of drama from a misunderstanding communication.

  51. Shocking and very bad evening for Romanian Referee Team.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Guys, very probable Coltescu talked in romanian with Hategan (via audio kit) and used the word "negru".

In romanian language "negru" is not a racist word. It's an official word. It doesn't mean "nigger" or "negro".

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I understand cause I'm Spanish and also 'negro' can be purely descriptive, but anyway big mistake and especially evitable from him and specially regarding Hategan!

      Delete
    2. I agree with this. He just pointed that guy. He didn't insult him or something. Everyone should know that every language is different.

      Delete
  53. I really hope UEFA will back the 4th official and explain the misunderstanding caused by the usage of his own language. Negru is not offensive in Romanian and this was an overreaction by the players

    ReplyDelete
  54. I am sure comunication between referees will be listned and UEFA will make a statement very soon.

    ReplyDelete
  55. There are names, surnames, numbers of the shirt. I still think that if a referee uses such language at this international level, doesn't deserve to be there, sorry.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Chefren, please, stop. Also in english “black” is not offensive! Why should “negru” be offensive? Ba was wearing long sleeves, jumper, hat. He did not recognise him, that’s all.

    2. Agree Chefren. But we cannot say « racism »here. Just be fair. Poor communication yes.

    3. None of which are available to use if you're sending off a member of the coaching staff who are all dressed in the same dark green jackets...

But of course the fourth official should just have pointed the offender out to the referee, which he did anyway.

      Delete
    3. Why do you need to mention a person in colour of his skin? Doesn't matter of language. Shame...

      Delete
    4. That’s the matter. Webo is from Cameroon. In French, negro is the term for « nigger » and a very racist term. Do we can understand his reaction and speak about verbal very very huge mistake. But not racism here.

  60. I missed everything in the other games to follow Paris events.
It seems as Stieler had many doutboul situations and his performance so far hasn't been the best.

    1. That penalty was to soft but it will be suported by UEFA. Other situations were ok IMO including that last situation when Barca asked for penalty on Messi. VAR checked it, for me no penalty was ok.

      Delete
    2. Match in Paris seems to restart in ten minutes. Are VAR and AVAR in Paris? Maybe they can switch roles. I can't imagine that Coltescu will come back as he has no authority anymore.
From what I have seen, Stieler not with his best performance. The early penalty was clearly wrong, but well, I'm sure he won't be in focus. Everyone is concerned about what happened in Paris.

      Delete
    3. Yes, I agree. Also the handball penalty appeal mentioned above (~25') was decided correctly, I think.
Match is quite challenging and he has to fight for acceptance. However he uses his strengthes in communication and management to succeed in that.

    1. Why Hategans? That was mistake from 4th official not him IMO

      Delete
    2. Why Hategan, he has nothing to do there. As a black person from Nigeria to be precise, the 4th official had no intention of being racist to be clear but by addressing a player by black or anybody in the world is the type of systematic racism we are fighting against. You shouldn't use the color of a human to describe him. You do not go about calling all player on the field white boy.. it is something most people do and that is systemic racism, you do not know you are even doing it. When UEFA prides itself around RESPECT the forth official showed no respect whatever

      Delete
  64. Not the best first half by Mateu Lahoz. AR1 with an important mistake in a situation with two touches and a rebound on the post. One wrong foul and a wrong corner kick. Very attentive regarding situations inside the penalty area, though.

  65. @CHEFREN

The player was on bench. He was not dressed in shirt. Coltescu couldn't see his number.

That word is not racist and was used for identification of the player !!!!

    3. This is racism ? I think not. Maybe Webo was between some white players and was easier to indicate to Hategan with the word "black".

Honestly, this is not racism. It's stupid behaviour from turkish team !!!

    4. @petschovschi, in my opinion it is absolutely unacceptable to call a player / team official by the color of his skin. You can say that for Coltescu there wasn't any offense by using that term, OK, but you can't oblige the recipient of the message to accept that. A fourth official should absolutely be very far away from that language, I don't remember that something similar happened in Champions League in recent times. Given the reactionof Turkish team, it is impossible to say "nothing happened". You can't control people's feelings. You can talk to me and I answer to you: big mistake in any case by Coltescu.

    5. How its not racis: to say ‘negro’? In which world do you live? This is pure racism. Letsnot decieve each other. You have to condemn him instead of legitimize his disgraceful behaviour.

  67. Im afraid this might be the end of Hategan and his crews career. Such a promising ref tarnished by actions of fourth official. Dont think UEFA will give him big match again.

  68. Is here someone from Romania? Is the word 'negro' is offensive and disrespectful in romanian language?

    1. It's "negru" not "negro" and means "black". It's not disrepectful. It's not a racist word in our language.

    2. Not at all, like also in Spanish or Portoguese

    3. No, it's not an offensive or disrespectful word. Wrong words for Coltescu, but it wasn't offensive.

  69. I don't believe for a second it was racist comment but instead extremely stupid. In a (over) sensible enviroment of the 21st century that kind of comments are just very foolish.

I think only pointing at him would have been enough instead of refering to his skincolour, which should never be done

    2. Borderline decision, but IMO can be justified, because arm is in a natural position - and then the defender tries to pull it away.

  71. What if the referees were Turkish and used “ bu siyah adam” or Polish using “ ten czarny facet”? Nobody would’ve cared! Here there is a huge overreaction only because “negru” which in Romanian is absolutely NOT offensive sounds like awful words.
For sure, bad communications but don’t call it racism, please. There are harder battles to fight for, this is an unlucky misunderstanding

  72. Mentioned on dutch TV. Hategan was also referee in 2013 CSKA - City when he refused to follow UEFA protocol (suspending game) after racist chants to Yaya Toure

    ReplyDelete

    1. Not true. Hategan insisted for the protocol but the UEFA stadium officer refused to do it !!!! Hategan was dismissed by any charge than.

  73. Penalty by Kralovec rather soft, because the defender had his leg already in a natural position and the attacker ran against it. Probably still supportable though.

  74. Poor Hategan... He has nothing to do with that and if the game resumes it will probably be very challenging...

  75. Support to Ovidiu Hategan and his team! How should Coltescu identify him?

    1. 100% agree. He couldn't see his number because he was not in jersey. Webo had also a hat on his head.

    2. Probably best to keep the defining characteristic in his mind and point to the offender instead of speaking it.

  76. Possible foul (impeding) in the APP before the 0-2 goal by Sevilla. Looked like a deliberate action, but maybe there is room for interpretation and no foul can be supported.

  77. If UEFA ban the fourth official, they will they will accept that to be with dark color of skin is something bad. All people are equal but with different colors of skin or hair for example. If the ref call someone the blond guy it will not be a problem, it's the same if you call someone black guy in romanian. It's not racism. So here's a big misunderstanding. For me black guy or white guy is equal, always a human being. So I don't think it's offensive. Maybe for the ref is the same.

    ReplyDelete
  78. According to German TV, Coltescu will be replaced. Maybe by AVAR?

    ReplyDelete
  79. The full dialogue between the refs: 'The black guy over there. Go and check who he is. The black one over there, it's not poasible to act like that'

This is not racism. Stupid, not racist

    1. Why is it not called "The white guy over there" for white football players?

  80. You know what is ironic? If Colțescu would have said ”cioroi” or ”cioară” (lit. translation means ”crow”), no one would have had a problem - despite this term being far more racist and disrespectful in Romanian language.

As someone said above very well, Colțescu was not racist, but just extremely stupid. Using the word ”negru”, which does not have a negative connotation in Romanian, can be easily be misheard as ”negro” and further misinterpreted and deemed as a racist remark.
