  3. Awkward delay in awarding a corner at 20' and a missed foul (pulling) on ENG #6, but nothing major so far.

  4. Barton just screamed 'shut up!' to Koulibaly from a distance lol

  5. Good Barton and Fischer by not penalizing PK min22, it does hit him in the hand but it comes from a rebound, from a part of the English player's body

    1. Agree. Also nice body language and facial expression during that whole situation.

    2. Deflections do not apply when considering handball.

This is an expected ball. However, the ball hits the elbow which is near to/against the body and not the extended lower arm/hand. This is why there is no offence.

  6. Is there a table showing how many matches the referees designated?

  7. 36' Missed YC for Walker (SPA)

  8. 36'
Clear YC not given to Walker, sorry but that is definition of SPA...

  9. I am very convinced by Barton so far (as in the whole tournament!) but how this SPA (37‘) is not a YC is beyond me.

    1. In UEFA Champions League it would have been YC, but in this World Cup only more intentional SPA are sanctioned by YC, so the decision not to give YC is consistent.

After seeing the replay, the foul is not as blatant as I thought at first

  10. YC missed.
Not convinced by the Barton's performance

  11. Agreed, should have been YC
England do not give many fouls away so we do get away with some YCs

  12. Time was up shouldn't continue play

  13. The game is going according to predictions, no real challenge for Barton, in this context the missed YC would have made it an expected level performance, but still...

  14. 2 min of Added time, counter attack started somewhere at 47.08 and the ref didn't whistle but let England to score in 47.16! Would he stopped counter attack from Senegal???

    1. No, he would have done same thing :)

    2. That's precisely why they announce the MINIMUM of added time :)

  15. Minimum of 2 mins not exactly 2, plus Senegal were attacking as the clock went 47.01

    1. Can't show minimum 2.5' or 2.75'. Minimum shown is 2'. More can/may be played.

  16. Aside from a missed yc in the 1st half Barton has been excellent imo. Also decent onside call for 3rd goal by Nesbitt

  17. Barton has not been truly tested today in quite an easy game but I still want to see more of him at this WC. He definitely qualifies for bigger stuff at this or next WC's.

    1. You can ask any American who follows CONCACAF officiating that Barton took the mantle of referee we want to see assigned to MEX/USA at a very young age and is running with it.

    2. We will see, I still think Marciniak, Claus, Lahoz, Orsato, Oliver, etc. still deserve a third game more than Barton deserves a first, plus we still have to see how Elfath, Rapallini, Turpin, and Ramos perform in the rest of the round. I think we should expect this to be the natural end of a very, very good tournament for Barton. Unless there is some demand for confederation neutrality and Ramos / Elfath both have big problems in their games.

  18. I guess this is last game for Barton in this WC, but considering his age i guess he can even be candidate for final in one of the future WCs
