  1. OT: VAR in the Premiere League needs complete overhaul. OFR ~ 21' in Man City-Chelsea missed Holland shirt pull before apparent foul on him. 3rd major mistake in a matter of months after Newcastle-Arsenal and Liverpool-Tottenham debacles.

    1. A shirt pull isn't an automatic foul, you need to consider if it really impacts the movement of the defender, and I don't see how this does. I can understand that people feel that the foul is soft, but VAR is not intervening for this anywhere in the world

    2. Newcastle goal was deemed a legitimate goal. I'd prefer this to be not whistled because of the controversy it bringd but Haaland does get ahead of Cucurella and is dragged down, and the holding at the start was mutual

    3. Anthony Taylor again. 3rd wrong penalty in as many games, Gillett failing to intervene for two of them

    4. @EngladREF don’t you dare going against Taylor on this blog!

  2. For me the penalty for Man City was fully supportable. Yes Haaland has Cucarellas shirt before, but Cucarella is holding Haaland too. Haaland let's go and Cucarella then puts 2 arms around him.

    1. Exactly how I saw it, you cannot given a foul for 2 players holding each other but once Haaland lets go and gets in front of Cucurella, only one person is doing the holding and that is Cucurella. Definitely not a clear and obvious error

    2. Both players may have arms on each however Haaland pulls the shirt of the defender. Clear foul

  3. OT:
    Frappart in Rennes -OL.
    My oh my...
The only thing that saved her is the fact that she is a woman and no player wants to risk their career with verbal abuse towards her.

No control in very challenging match, lenient line that suoted nobody, mixed criterium and very egoistic style.

    1. She is extremely talented referees and totally deserves to be there .And to write she is a women is ridiculous .Would write that about a man .Referee Frappart is excellent referee as her career record shows.

  5. So drama in Real Madrid vs Chelsea game! Wrong penalty whistled given to Madrid and Chelsea goal disallowed at the end of the game , that was not offside!

Poor poor performance from the DEN team !

    1. Unless the offside was against Kerr for interfering with the RMA players–she is offside when the ball is played and does make contact with two of them.

    2. I actually think Frida did a good job but the ARs were really bad. It is AR 2s job to see whether the penalty was inside or outside. I dont think Kerr have any influence in the offside situation IMO wrong call by AR1

    3. Come on the penalty is absolutely awful, its not even close a top referee shouldn't need an AR to tell them thats outside. Two not even close errors. Should be no more UEFA games for this referee this season if not for ever

    4. It is AR’s job to determine whether someone is in an offside position, it is up to the referee to detect any possible influence and the penalty is an absolutely awful decision, no one can and should be excluded from criticism for this game

  6. In BAYROM first goal by BAY was offside. A pity there’s no VAR in the group stage

    1. Full games are on youtube.

      Bayern - Roma:
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9-sOtnqGe0
Minute 20' of the game, 1-0 Bayern, offside.

      Real Madrid - Chelsea:
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1c686Cb0y8
78' penalty to Real Madrid, clearly outside, where was AR?
Yes, referee should see that it is outside, but you have second option with AR, very poor...
90'+6 last seconds of the game crucial mistake, wrongly disallowed regular goal. Evident mistake, player clearly onside.

Indeed this seems to be too much for Champions League. Committee should see and reflect about that, it is not the first time I talked about, they have now their mouth full of equality between Men's and Women's football, but if this stays as Women's level, it is just a joke. VAR should be introduced as least in Women's Group Stage, we are talking about a few games, 8 games per matchday, so...! But surely some mistakes we see are not expected by Elite women...

    2. Real Madrid - Chelsea. The offside in 90+6 could be on Chelsea 20, who clearly impacts the defenders ability to play the ball. Acceptable at least if not correct for me. Good call and cooperation.
