  1. Well, the remaining Elite Category officials without games in first and second UEL legs are: Taylor, Undiano Mallenco, Turpin, Brych, Rocchi, Kuipers, Marciniak, Skomina and Çakır.

As for tomorrow's appointments we can exclude Brych (Lupp is fourth official in Zwayer's team), Skomina (Jug and Vinčič present in first legs of UEL) and Çakır (his AAR1 Göçek present in first legs of UEL). Most likely they will appear in UCL PO second legs

Very likely we will see Rocchi's name as his AAR1 Massa is appointed to UEL second leg.

So we are left with Rocchi as a safe candidate plus two from: Taylor, Undiano Mallenco, Turpin, Kuipers and Marciniak.

    1. I think tomorrow we will see Rocchi, Turpin and Kuipers.

    2. Are UEL second legs already published somewhere?

      Delete
    3. Then that list is not complete, is it? Oliver and Gil Manzano are missing from what I can remember… either that or you know more than we do.

      Delete
    4. List is not published yet, but they have it. Gil Manzano and Oliver are appointed for second legs of EL if I am correct.

      Delete
    5. Indeed, we have decided to wait before publishing EL second legs. So it's up to Vlad if he wants to reveal or not some names.

      Delete
    6. Kuipers didn’t had a match this weekend. His AR’s worked with Van Boekel on saturday.

      Delete
    7. Usually, Kuipers takes the first two matchdays off.

      Delete
  2. Sorry, can anybody tell me would uefa use AAR in uefa nations league ?

  3. Kassai is missing ad well

  4. I think it would much more honest for the committee to denote him rather than taking the mic out of him by being appointed on unimportant matches

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I am pretty sure he will be given an unimportant match with the result being cleared in the first leg. Mr Pereira has destroyed Greek referees by threatening them constantly. It's a world record I think ; there are only 3 existing super league refs that were in the top divisions 3 years ago .

      Delete
    2. "Mr Pereira has destroyed Greek referees"

      The understatement of the year.

In theory, there are 3 foreigners in charge of Greek refereeing but mr Pereira co-operates only with Tritsonis who isn't a member of the referee's committee.

      Delete
    3. How would Mr Rosetti trust Greek refs when the international list changes completely every 2 years. This season greek refs were appointed in less games than refs from Cyprus , Luxumburg and Lithuania . We deserve better treatment . We have better refs than they think we have .

      Delete
    4. Surely and there are also some who have good possibilities to go through (eg. Skoulas, Papapetrou)

      Delete
    5. Skoulas is a good ref , but not he is not that young . When refs from Poland , Slovenia, Sweeden and other countries start international careers at the age of 30 or below , Greeks start at 35 and 36. It's too late. Vassaras tried to change that but nobody would listen

      Delete
    6. Papapetrou is the future of Greek refereeing. As long as he keeps a low profile. IMO Sidiropoulos hasn't covinced the committee and his spot in the Elite is even in danger. You can't have Elite referees who reach R32 of EL.

IMO the trio of foreigners (Pereira, Marin, Lindberg) is failed. There are many Greek FIFA ex referees who ae qualified for the job and understand Greek reality better.

      Delete
    7. Sidiropoulos is a much better ref than Papapetrou. Papapetrou would reach a EL group match, but nothing more sonorous. I cannot believe that Kominis (35) will be replaced in the international list by Zachariadis (38). What is the point of introducing a 38 year old ref to Europe when refs retire at the age of 45 and most refs need 4-5 years to climb up the categories. Another shocking decision by Mr Pereira who shows complete lack of understanding of the dynamics of international refereeing.

  5. Those are the referees appointed to second legs of UEL play-off round. I will reveal games after the first legs though

Kovács, Soares Dias, Gil Manzano, Hațegan, Oliver, Buquet, Stieler, Sidirópoulos, del Cerro Grande, Karasov, Mažeika, Kassai, Makkelie, Banti, Kehlet, Kuĺbakoŭ, Massa, Kabakov, Stavre, Gözübüyük, Gestranius

    1. Vassaras is doing a great job in the committee on behalf of Romanian federation . Kovac will be an elite ref soon . It's a shame a Greek member of committee not to work for the benefit of Greek refs..

      Delete
    2. Vassaras in Romania is very good (see Hategan or Kovacs). In Greece he is a bit disastrous I dare to say. Papapetrou has good possibilities to go through. Sidiropoulos can handle some good matches also after the group stages.

      Delete
    3. During the reign of Vassaras in Greek refereeing , Koukoulakis and Kakkos were regular in Europa league, Sidiropoulos became an elite referee and a few others progressed although they disappeared soon. In the last 3 years , there Has been no progress .papapetrou is not doing Europa league groups yet . He does a couple of matches in the summer .

  6. First VAR interventions in LaLiga.

2 mistakes from Mateu Lahoz crew (goal wrongly disallowed for offside, PK situation Mateu wrongly called to be outside the penalty area). VAR is De Burgos Bengoetxea.

    3. Not only not a clear and obvious mistake (thus an OFR can't take place), but, IMO, a correct decision. A few instants before, Carvajal makes what, also IMO, is a clear foul (charging an opponent without trying to play the ball, just displace him to gain advantage) but that I have noticed many referees don't whistle.

    1. Thank You! Post Will follow soon. So now it is clear why Mateu has Been appointed in EL. Considering also Last season, at moment Undiano seems to be more liked by committee...

      Delete
    2. And deservedly so, IMHO. Lahoz hasn't been anything special in recent times. AndAnd Malle has always been a safe and steady choice for the Ref Comm.

  8. Is the last season of Undiano, refereee more regular that
    Matéu. Matéu is more capricious.

  9. Michael Oliver with penalty for Liverpool and RC for Crystal Palace. Probably will be lot of talk about penalty in 45' (oh, that penalties in the last seconds for Oliver). For me, clear foul on Salah, Oliver was perfectly positioned, saw tripping and gave PK. RC was also justified, fast counter attack, DOGSO ouside of the box, Oliver was also very fast, excellent position again and correct decision. Besides those two incidents, nothing important from this match.

    1. Michael Oliver is by far the most fit ref in Europe. Michael Riley should get sacked asap. Again a terrible set of appointments. Out of form Pawson fo the big match, and the worst of all is Jon Moss at Southampton. Persona non grata in Southampton, his terrible refereeing against Everton last season nearly cost relegation for the Saints. At the moment, the way that PGMOL is being run is shocking. Excluding Oliver, Taylor, Kavanagh and Atkinson, the rest are below average.

      Delete
    2. There is an art to these appointments. You can’t put Oliver on the big game every week or, eventually, he will encounter a controversy that renders him unavailable precisely when it matters at the end of the season.

All referees see every time and most go to every ground. No surprise to see Oliver in Huddersfield in August.

      Delete
    3. what is exactly the art of the appointments? Moss doing Southampton every other game? Ridiculous. Premier League urgently needs new blood. There are a few good refs in Championship like Jones, Langford, England or Robinson but they would not be given a premier league match. What is the point of appointing the same ref 10 times a season to a certain club without giving the opportunity to newcomers to show what they deserve. Pawson and all average refs like Pawson is a result of a failing appointment system which recycles the same names.

    4. 5' this is VAR stuff. Maybe AAR1 told AR2 that he touched the ball? Not clear even on replay..

      Delete
    5. Difficult to say it was/not an offside, as we did not clearly see whether the red player touched the ball or not. But I am sure there was a good communication within the refereeing team and I praise them for that.
PK a bit soft for my taste, but again, no clear camera view.

      Delete
    6. Overall, Mazic had a good game. I did not like his ways on showing cards though. He was too abrupt with players, taking the card out of the pocket as he was running and showing it to the player even when the player did not have a clear view of him. He needs to give himself and the player a bit of time to recover from the challenge and then exercise disciplinary action.

    4. And what was the violation of the rules?

    5. A Completely wrong decision against the running of the play.

      Delete
    6. Wrong penalty for me too. The "strange" movement he makes with the arms happens after the initial touch in which the hand is in a natural position and it's too close to the ball to be retired.

      Delete
    7. Zwayer's decision affected the course of the game, BATE players began to fear unpredictable decisions ...

      Delete
    8. I see two ball-arm contacts. If there was only one, the first one, than no PK, but ih the second one the yellow player "carries" the ball and that is the one which, in my opinion, should be penalized.

I got to watch the whole match (before I saw this video posted) and I have to say I was very impressed with Orsato. His 100% concentration from first whistle to last, and his relations with the players were both excellent IMO.
A very good step on the road to EURO 2020 for the Italian.
